Yogi Surprise “Bodhi” April Review
Here is the info sheet for this month’s box. This month’s theme is “Bodhi,” which means “awaken.”
Each month we receive a new yoga sequence. This has some challenging ones this month- I have only tried camel once, and I definitely can’t do the Lord of the Dance. I do love regular pigeon, but I haven’t tried the King Pigeon pose before.
Beelucia Awakened Wellness Candle, 4 oz travel tin – Retail Value $12.95
I don’t actively practice crystal healing, but wow does it make me happy to get products (bath salts! Lotions! Candles!) infused with crystals. This candle has a scent of rosemary, peppermint, lemongrass, and bergamot, and while it smells delightful, I wish the throw was a little stronger. It is infused with crushed carnelian crystals to enhance positivity and awaken confidence, and I have been keeping this on my bedside table to light in the mornings when I am literally trying to awaken.
Enlightened Cleansing Bath Oil
This is another product that smells good, but faint. Normally when I pour some bath oil into hot running water the scent will bloom and fill my small bathroom, but this wasn’t strong enough for that experience. Bummer, because I love bath oils! Even if I can’t truly appreciate the smell of geranium, sandalwood, lemon, and clary sage, at least I get softer skin after using from the sweet almond oil.
Soon Skincare Pomegranate Hydrogel Eye Patch with Collagen – Retail Value $6
I absolutely love hydrogel eye patches, so I am always down to try new ones. These are infused with caffeine, collagen, and niacinamide to de-puff and brighten. I don’t experience puffy eyes, but I did find these enjoyable to wear. I probably wouldn’t purchase these on my own, though, because the price of a single pair is pretty steep (they are on par with my holy grail Erno Laszlo Eye Serum Masks).
Room Detoxifying Citrus Mist
This room mist is a mix of distilled water, Epsom salt, grapefruit, orange, and lemon. It adds a citrusy burst to whatever room I spray it in, and I think this would be great to spray before pulling out the yoga mat to do some yoga at home.
Kore Herbals Sweet Orange Geranium Sugar Scrub, 2 oz – Estimated Value $8 (buy the 6 oz version for $24)
This sugar scrub is on the drier side, and it is made with sunflower oil, calendula petals, and sweet orange essential oil. Rather than being zesty, I would describe this as being more floral with a soft orange note. It’s on the delicate side, and it does a good job of exfoliating without being too abrasive on my skin.
Free Mountain Designs Wildflower Heart Seed Bombs, 3 seed bombs – Buy 10 for $6.75
These are SUCH a cute idea- they are handmade seed bombs that you soak in water before planting, and they are seeded with non-GMO wildflowers that honeybees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love. I definitely think the bright colors and heart shape are a fun touch, too (how cute would these be as a wedding favor at an outdoor spring wedding?).
The Verdict: I look forward to receiving Yogi Surprise every month, and while this was a good box it was missing a few things to make it great. I loved that so many refreshing scents were included, but I do wish the scent throws were stronger. Overall, though, this box was thoughtfully curated, and I enjoyed the wide assortment of items chosen. Value-wise, the info card says this box has a total value of $85.
