Astral Box June 2019 Review
As per usual, my Astral Box arrived with a beautiful aroma emanating from it, reminding me to take a moment to pause and enjoy the small gift of loveliness that just arrived on my doorstep. Often it's a strong floral scent, but this month it was citrusy, which felt perfect for the sunny summer day. Inside the box each month is an artfully decorated card, which on the back details each item in the box, along with a value listing. This is really helpful as many of the items are exclusive to Astral Box and/or are hard for me to find online.
Peachy Super Plump Serum – Listed Value approx. $30.59 USD ($47 NZD)
Astral Box has been featuring Peachy products for the past few months, sometimes sending subscribers items that haven't been released to the general public yet, as is the case here! I'm new to the world of specialty beauty products and serums, so admittedly I'm not always sure what the difference is serum-to-serum, and I'm not making my way through them as quickly as others might. But the quality is always excellent and the experience of using it is always so refreshing and pampering for day to day.
Citrine Sphere Gemstone – Listed Value approx. $16.27 USD ($25 NZD)
Astral Box continues to deliver with a truly unique crystal. According to the included card, citrine is known as the "light maker" and has meanings of positivity and joy. It has a bit more of a yellow-ish tone than it seems from these images, and a few faint "flaws" that make it all the more fascinating to examine, as they're reminders that this is a real, natural formation from the Earth.
Find Your Light Soy Candle — Listed Value approx. $11.06 USD ($17 NZD)
I love that this candle came in an inspiring pouch! The candle's tin has the Astral Collective logo on it, which is such a nice and peaceful symbol, and it's a clean-burning soy candle. It's said on the card to have a lavender scent, which I am picking up alongside some citrusy-smelling vibes, too. But maybe the citrus tones are coming from sharing a box with other orange-scented items!
Spirit Element Lightwork Perfume — Listed Value approx. $15.94 USD ($24.50 NZD)
Speaking of orange-scented items, this roll-on perfume includes notes of mandarin, lime, and jasmine. The card says they were "all selected for their associations with manifestation, transcendence, well-being, and happiness." All qualities I'll happily invite into my present! I rolled a bit on my inner wrist about an hour ago and found it to be pretty faint, but it's easy enough to apply it every so often throughout the day to keep the aroma going.
Orange Blossom Tea — Listed Value approx. $5.86 USD ($9 NZD)
I've always gotten such a smile from the copy found on Astral Box tea packaging! It seems to have been written with such joy. Good copy goes a long way in my world! This herbal tea is a combo of South African honey bush and orange blossom. Nice and light!
It came with 10 of these sachets. I appreciate that they don't have a string with a piece of paper stapled on—it's more Earth-friendly that way!
Here's what the tea looks like after 5 minutes of steeping. As anticipated, the flavor was light and bright. I didn't add any sweetener, but I might next time just to bring out the flavor a little more.
Verdict: I was so pleased with what I received in this month's Astral Box! The details never fail to be carefully considered, and each month as I open my box up, I feel a rush of delight and self-care come over me. My favorite items this month were the candle and the tea, though the citrine sphere is pretty awesome. Based on listed values, the items in this box have a total retail value of around $80 USD, which is right within the $67-$101 USD value range that was promised by Astral Box.
