Harney & Sons is a fine tea company that offers two tea of the month subscriptions: a Premium Loose Tea Box, and a Premium Sachet Tea Box.

This is a review of the Premium Sachet Tea of the Month box, which is $14 a month.

Harney & Sons 30th Anniversary Black Tea Blend, a tin of 20 sachets – Retail Value $12

This month’s tea was one tin of their anniversary blend that celebrates the thirty years Harney and Sons have been in business. I like black tea, but I usually need to add in cream and sugar to truly enjoy it unless it is an Earl Grey. That was the case here- on its own, the blend of Ceylon, Assam, Ceylon Silver Tips, and Assam Golden Tips was *alright,* but once I added a sugar cube and a splash of half and half I was in tea heaven.

The Verdict: I seriously love my Harney & Sons tea subscription, but I think the value was a little light this month. While I appreciate receiving a limited edition high-quality black tea, I think either more tea samples or some of the fancy sugar cubes and crystals that Harney and Sons offers would have rounded out this box more. If this box consistently sent a monthly box with a value lower than the cost I would be concerned, but this is only the second time since I started subscribing in November that this has happened.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? You will likely receive the June box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $14 with free shipping and I received a tin of tea that retails for $12

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Ouch, that hardly seems worth the price. If they’re just going to send one tin of tea for $14, I’d rather just buy one I know I like.

I agree… I thought you got more variety of teas in this one 🙁 still lovely, but a bummer if you don’t like black tea.
