My Ipsy Glam Bag June 2019 Review
Included is a card detailing your included items.
Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month contained the long-awaited Tetris themed bags!
English Laundry 'Oxford Bleu' Perfume, 0.34 fl oz - Estimated Value $9.00 (Buy a full size 3.4 fl oz for $89.99)
This perfume has fruity top notes of melon and oranges and I think the melon is what I didn't love about this scent. The floral middle and moody base are much more my style so I appreciated this scent much more after its initial drydown. It is a great spring/summer scent because it is light a slightly fruity, with a super feminine feel. I just like more complicated scents so this is not for me.
Delectable by Cake Beauty Triple Citrus Blend Butter Wash Body Polish, 30 ml - Estimated Value $1.53 (Buy 236 ml full size for $12.00)
This body polish has a tasty creamy lemon scent and it is filled with little scrubbers that polish your skin without being too abrasive. It feels utterly summery, and the citrus aroma filled my shower as I scrubbed. I was happy that it felt nice on my legs since they are so sensitive and any sort of scrub can cause irritation and redness. This is a pretty solid and very affordable scrub option for anyone who enjoys citus scents.
Hey Honey Wild Berry & Honey Yogurt Recovery Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Value $10.29 (buy a full size 70 ml for $48.00)
I don't know how I feel about this mask. It has a somewhat odd fruity yogurt smell that I don't think I like. While it was absolutely hydrating, it left my skin feeling a little odd, like I couldn't remove all of it. Weird sensation aside, my skin did look really plump and dewy after I wished it off, so I can't complain too much. It was also a very pretty mask, pale pink with dark berry bits!
Fluide 7-Free Polish in 'Secret Project Robot', 10 ml- FULL SIZE! Retail Value $15.00
Oof! This polish is BLUE. I am one of those girls who always gets the same neutral color at the nail salon (hello, OPI Bubble Bath) so this is a bit of a shocker for me. I decided to try it out and was really surprised at the coverage with just one coat. You could easily get away with just one, but two is over the top glossy coverage. The sheen is excellent and the color is so unexpected and fun. I think I might hang onto this polish for a day when I feel like going super bold.
The bluest blue! Two coats here.
Tetris x ipsy Lip Gloss in ‘Tetrimino, 4 g - FULL SIZE!
Want more Tetris x ipsy deets? Check out my review of the full collection here!
I reviewed this product already in my full Tetris x ipsy collection review and really liked it. It is rather demure, a soft golden champagne with much more shimmer than pigment. It looks great on naked lips or use it to top off a fave lippy.
A subtle champagne sheen.
Verdict: This Ipsy Glam Bag is a little difficult to estimate the total value of since I don't have a retail cost of that Tetris lip gloss. Without the bag and gloss values, you are still getting at least $35.82 from the other products, which makes for a pretty decent deal from a $10 bag! There were some hits and misses in my bag this month. The perfume was a really generous sample, but I am not sure the fragrance is really my type of thing. The body wash and yogurt mask were both solid products but I couldn't get really excited about them. The blue nail polish is TOTALLY out of my comfort zone but the quality and coverage are both excellent. I am going to hold onto it for summer toes. I loved the Tetris gloss and I am happy to add it to my collection. Even though I didn't love everything in this bag, it is really hard to be unhappy with such value from a $10 subscription.
