Mighty Fix Review: Silicone Spoon & Spatula
Each box includes an info card telling you about the featured item and how what they chose to send you helps your house be “greener,” and you be “healthier!” This month’s featured item is two cooking utensils, a silicone spoon, and spatula. The recipe for May is three ways to make homemade pesto, “classic basil”, “arugula mint”, and “spinach pistachio.”
Silicone Spoon – Retail Value $6.00
This silicone spoon is 100% heat stable, heat resistant to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, food-grade silicone, and dishwasher safe. This spoon is sturdy, flexible, great for mixing, stirring, and scrapping food just like the silicone spatula below. The inside bowl of the spoon is not deep as a regular spoon or ladle. But it worked to scrap and dish out small amounts of my food.
Silicone Spatula – Retail Value $6.00
This spatula is made from 100% heat stable, non-leaching, food-grade silicone that is heat resistant to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, and dishwasher safe. I used the spatula to saute mushrooms in white wine and it worked well scraping, pushing mushrooms in skillet. The spatula didn’t stick or melt to the pan, sturdy and flexible. Both products are made in China.
Here’s a close-up of the spoon and spatula.
Both utensils have a hole at the end of the handles for storing on a kitchen hook.
Verdict: I’m amazed how Mighty Fix continues to bring a variety of products that are useable for my home and for my personal use. These month items were useful tools and my wooden spoon and spatula have gotten old, so a replacement was needed. I have received numerous kitchen items that I never knew I needed or a product came that I was in need of replacing. This month, I received $12.00 worth of products which covers the $11 cost of this subscription. I receive quality products well over the $10.00 each month, which is a good deal.
