Organic Bunny Box May 2019 Review
You get a really nicely designed and sturdy reusable gift box each month that houses all of your organic goodies. It seems to change every so often as well, so you can amass a collection of different designs. This month has cute illustrated bunnies all over it.
The lid stays put with magnets so you can use it again after you've raided it. It reads: "For the glamorous girl with a green heart." The Organic Bunny Box doesn't include an info card but normally has all the items listed on their website by the time it arrives.
100% Pure Sheet Mask in Wrinkle Smooth - Estimated Retail Value $5.60 (Buy a pack of 5 for $28.00)
I can appreciate an all-natural sheet mask and this one came in a few variations. I received the "Wrinkle Smooth" one which speaks to my 39-year-old skin. Those crows feet and forehead lines are creeping in, so let's see what we can do. The mask itself was a soft and delicate bamboo cloth with a slightly yellowish tone. It includes hyaluronic acid as well as green tea which will both plump and perk up your skin. I kept this on for over 15 minutes and wasn't actually super impressed once I took it off. There was leftover essence to massage in (per usual) but it left my face feeling a little sticky which I didn't love. For me, this mask isn't one I'd seek out again.
Tosi SuperBites in Blueberry - Listed Value $3.00 (Buy a pack of 12 for $36.00)
Oh my goodness gracious, these were SOOOOO delicious! I"m kind of hit or miss with liking granola bars but these are simply wonderful. Though a little messy with their crumbliness, they have a flavor that compels me to gobble these down quickly and effortlessly. I actually looked for them at my local Co-Op recently and was sad to not find them there. Will definitely be ordering these online.
Joan’s A Keeper Blackberry Lemonade Soap, 3.75 oz. bar - Retail Value $5.00
This soap smells magical! Like many yummy soaps, I want to eat this, but I know I cannot. They really captured the freshness of blackberry lemonade though! It's made with all natural ingredients like honey, beeswax, shea butter, olive oil, and more to leave your skin feeling moisturized and smelling tasty. I've been slowly hoarding bar soaps so that once I use all of my liquid soap pumps, I can ditch plastics and go zero waste (at least with cleansing my body and hands). Like always, bar soap is the best way to travel so you don't have to worry about TSA liquid quantities.
Leefy Organics Prana Dietary Supplement, 2 oz (30 day supply) - Retail Value $30.00
This item has brilliant timing since I just recently found out I have pre-arthritis in my knees which prompted me to start taking turmeric and glucosamine/chondroitin supplements every day to try and help with inflammation. This liquid supplement contains turmeric and ginger to help with just that and it actually tastes really good too! The directions say to put two droppers-worth under your tongue for up to three times a day. I've been carrying this around with me to do so anytime I remember. So far so good- I've been noticing knee pain less with the help of this as well as my other pill supplements.
ORGANIC Bath Co. Zesty Morning Organic Body Butter, 6.2 oz. - Retail Value $29.00
I've been overloaded with body oils lately and while this is a "butter", it's basically a really whipped solid version of all organic argan, jojoba, sunflower seed oils, shea butter, and essential oils. It smells very orange-y to me which I think is where the "zesty" comes from. The label notes that a little goes a long way and they aren't lying. It is indeed really hydrating but also leaves a bit of a greasy feel for some time until it soaks in. I'll probably stick to lotion, but this full-size jar will make one of my friends very happy.
Sanari Mini Plant Based Candle in Sanam, 2 oz. - Estimated Retail Value $3.32 (Buy a variety 3-pack for $9.95)
This mini candle is only available in a sample pack of three but is such a cute little thing. I'm really into the Sanam scent which is made up of pomegranate, rose, and jasmine. I think the fruitiness of the pomegranate is most prominent so it doesn't smell too floral. The burn time is 3-4 hours which is ideal for a bathroom or small space.
Erth Minerals Eye Shadow in Nectar, 0.04 oz - Retail Value $10.00
Wow, I am really impressed with the rose/champagne-like pigment of this shadow. It's intensely sparkly so it works for a night out when you really want to shine. In the swatch below, I laid it on thick, but you can really blend it out for a less sparkly day look as well. Very pretty!
Korento Vitamin Infused Lip & Cheek Tint in Raspberry - Retail Value $37.86 USD (34,00 €)
I love the idea of a makeup product that is double-duty but I often feel let-down by one or the other use. This raspberry color is perfect for my cheeks and I love how easily it blends to a powdery finish, but that means I don't think it really works for me as a lip tint. I needed so very little to give my face a little bit of color that this pot is sure to last me quite some time. Bonus: it's from Finland (a place I'd love to someday visit) and is packed with "free radical fighting antioxidant and vitamin-rich arctic berries such as bilberry, lingonberry, and seabuckthorn". Ooooh- arctic berries!
Here are swatches of the eye shadow and lip & cheek tint.
Kiss Me Honey Lip Balm in Strawberry - Retail Value $4.99
This lip balm reminds me of a strawberry lip balm I had as a kid (in the '80s) that featured an Easter bunny on it. My mom sold Avon so I had a pretty decent collection of cute things like that and loved it so much. This balm is made with USDA certified organic ingredients which is nice and I can have this in one of my many lip balm hiding spots that I've mentioned before so that I am never in need.
Verdict: The Organic Bunny Box for May had quite a lot of different products so I think there's definitely something for everyone here. This month's value totals $128.77, more than double the $59.00 plus free shipping cost. I didn't love the mask and body butter, but pretty much everything else I was loving. The supplement drops came at the perfect time and the soap smells good enough to eat while I enjoyed actually eating the super scrumptious SuperBites snack.
