TONYMOLY June 2019 Monthly Bundle Review
This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but just like last month, I received some pretty adorable samples.
I’m Real Sheet Mask in Peach – Estimated Value $3 (buy 2 for $6)
This is your basic, no-frills sheet mask, but I enjoy reaching for them. They’re pretty saturated with serum and they’re cooling on my skin, which is especially welcome now that we are in the warmer months. When my skin feels like it needs a little extra TLC I like applying a nourishing face oil before layering one of these sheet masks on top to make a hydration sandwich for my skin to eat up. I thought the fruity scent of peach was nice, too.
Layering Sheet Mask in Lemon – Retail Value $5.50 (found here for $2.50)
The layering masks from TONYMOLY are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Ulta currently has them available for $2.50 and I could use my 20% off coupon on it so I stocked up on many. This is a two-part mask, with the first part being targeted patches you place wherever your skin needs extra love and the second part being a sheet mask you lay on top. In this version, the patches are actually in the shape of lemons, and key ingredients include lemon water, lemon extract, and niacinamide. The sheet mask you layer on top also has lemon water as the first ingredient, and my skin felt so hydrated and happy once I was done wearing this. If you have any “slice” sheet masks laying around, you can create your own layered sheet masks by layering a sheet mask on top of the slices, too!
I'm Red Wine Gel Eye Patch, set of 2 - Retail Value $8
I love eye patches, and I will take all of them thank you very much. This is made with wine extract, fruit extracts, and allantoin to firm up the undereye area. I don't know if I am looking for firmness yet, but I am always looking for cooling eye patches to help me relax (I carry a lot of tension in my face, and I bet you do too!). These were cooling for a solid thirty minutes, and I thought the skin under my eyes was more hydrated after wearing, too.
Peach Punch Cleansing Tissues, 30 ct - Retail Value $7
Normally when I wear a full face of makeup I like to double cleanse, but sometimes (read: after midnight on a Friday night when I am just getting home) I just don't have the energy for it - so I busted out these bad boys. That was probably a harsh first test, but other than the thick mascara I was wearing this did a really good job of taking my makeup up of cleansing my face. I slapped a random moisturizer on my face after using and went right to sleep, and my skin was reasonably decent the next morning. These would shine being tossed in a gym bag and being used after working out or on light makeup days, but they can put in work on a full-face if they have to - just reach for a waterproof mascara remover first.
White Tea Brightening Essence, Full-Size! Retail Value $27
This box usually includes a full-size skincare product (that isn't a face mask or lip balm), and I am happy about this brightening essence. I still haven't been able to fully get in the habit of using an essence routinely, but I love that 82% of this essence is white tea, which is known for providing antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Paired with fruit extracts, this is a way to add brightness to your skin. I use essences after toners and before serums, and I am happy with how this layers.
Panda's Dream Rose Face Cream, 0.85 oz - Estimated Value $8.88 (buy the full-size version for $18.50)
I am already a fan of the Panda's Dream collection from TONYMOLY, and this rose version has my heart swooning. I love anything with rose, and this has rose extract, rose water, raspberry, hibiscus extract, and hyaluronic acid. This was soothing and nourishing to my skin, and it soaked in with ease. This is a product I would like even if the packaging wasn't cute, and I appreciate that TONYMOLY is a great intersection for affordable products, cute products, and reasonably effective products.
UV Master Vital Sun Stick, 0.12 oz – Estimated Value $4.28 (buy the full-size version for $27.50)
This sunscreen is non-sticky, blended well into my skin, and was actually pretty hydrating thanks to the moisture soothing complex made of aloe, green tea, bamboo, cactus, and hinoki water. I would like to call out, though, that this same sample was included in the March 2019 Monthly Bundle. I am inclined to excuse it, but I won't ignore it. Since the first box in March, the packaging of this monthly bundle has been different every time, and the date it is released for sale is not the same every month. This indicates to me that TONYMOLY is still getting their footing in curating a monthly box, so I am optimistic that frequent repeats won't be the norm moving forward.
Vita Vita 12 Brightening Ampoule, sample - Buy the full-size version for $20
This is another repeat but in a different form. We received the full-size version in the April Bundle. This brightening ampoule is made with niacinamide (one of my favorite ingredients!), lemon peel oil, and bergamot oil, and while citrus can occasionally irritate my skin I had no issues with this.
Liptone Lip Care Stick in Honey - Retail Value $10
I am pretty sure this is a play on Pantone, but I like it. This is made with shea butter, beeswax, and honey extract, and I found that the moisture it provided to dry lips was long-lasting.
I'm Honey Hand Cream - Retail Value $6
Hand creams are a common feature in the box, but I'm not complaining. I think this is actually my favorite so far- it is nourishing without leaving a greasy residue, and I appreciate the faint scent of honey that isn't too strong.
The Verdict: The monthly bundles from TONYMOLY are fast becoming one of my favorite boxes to receive- the combination of full-sized products, cute minis, and fun packaging is hard to beat if you are a K-Beauty fan. Value-wise, they came up short of the promised value of $90, because I calculated a total value of $79.66 (not including the ampoule sample). I still think this is worth the cost, however, if K-Beauty is your thing!
