Let’s grab brunch together:
Pokémon Shoyu Ramen – Buy a 12pack for $39.99
I always enjoy finding little stickers in my snacks and this time, it’s my ramen bowl! Brings a nice smile to my already happy-I’m-eating-ramen face ( ̄▽ ̄) A trick I use when I make ramen (but usually, don’t follow because I love salt too much) is to put a little more water to dilute the flavor. Luckily, I did so with this ramen, because it was one of the saltiest, even given the fact it’s a shoyu, or soy sauce based broth.
The little Pikachu oden, or fishcakes, were so cute to find. The best part of this ramen bowl had to be the noodles, which soaked up the broth really well, in contrast to more springy noodles I’ve had before.
Kaki Tama Udon – Retail Value $1.30
Udon is my most enjoyed, favorite Japanese noodle dish. I was so excited to see “Udon” on the information sheet! This kaki tama udon uses fried tofu bits (basically sweet, chewy broth sponges that are so tasty to eat) and scrambled egg for an extra luxurious eat. While I was sad this udon didn’t have the traditional thick noodles or clear broth I love, it was delicious! These noodles are wide and thin with a pillowy texture, another broth soaker. The broth was different from your average udon and had a nice miso taste as well I enjoyed!
Belgian Waffle Crisps
Eating these were a dream. Describing them as pancake cookies won’t come close. The crispiness of the corn puff just paired so well with the maple syrup flavor! There was also such a nice butter flavor that melted in my mouth ( ´ ▽ ` ) If only there had been two bags…
Bejitaberu Vegetable Salad Crackers Share Pack – Retail Value $1.70
Salad is a go-to for brunch, which is why ZenPop included this share pack of salad crackers. Made with real vegetable extracts, these heart-shaped crackers also use a ranch-like flavoring for an extra boost of savoriness.
Caplico Atama Milk Chocolate Stars – Retail Value $2.90
Caplico is known for their ice cream shaped wafer cookies, but this edition has made the snack into little star-shaped chocolates! These sweet stars are made of a moussey bubble chocolate with a layered white and milk chocolate. Tastes just like melted ice cream and has a fun pop-out packaging.
Pure Melon Gummies – Retail Value $3.59
Gummy time ♡ Pure’s gummies are a big favorite because of their variety of flavors and inclusion of health benefits, especially collagen for some skin plumping and anti-aging! When I opened the bag, I was greeted with the best smell ever—melon. The taste of these cantaloupe fruit juice gummies is fresh and sweet. Don’t be afraid of the sour sugar coating, because after that is melon heaven~
Long Chew Orange Flavor
This orange chew was quite difficult to eat, so I ended up having to hack it into smaller pieces to chew. They are quite hard, but the creamy orange flavor made them irresistible!
Bisco Sandwich Cookies Cafe Au Lait Flavor – Buy a 3-pack for $2.50
We’ve seen many different flavors of these sandwich cookies, and this time, it’s latte flavored the ultimate brunch drink! I really like these cookies because of the milky flavor of the crunchy biscuit (kind of dry) and the tasty cream. The latte version smelled so good as well and wasn’t too sweet—devoured in seconds!
Maple Syrup Hotcakes
This snack is called a dagashi, or a small popular snack in Japan. These little pancakes are an updated version of the doryaki, or a castella pancake filled with sweet azuki red bean paste. The bread portion is a sweet honey castella that I love to eat at my local Korean bakery. Though I didn’t enjoy the sticky middle filling of maple syrup resembling jam, I gobbled through the bread joyfully!
Verdict: I’m really big on brunches, as they’re my special time I love to get food with my mom! The combination of pancake items, tasty chocolates, and fruity sweets was a lovely curation I enjoyed. My favorite item must be that bag of waffle shaped chips… I’m not a huge fan of sweet cracker types, but wow! I really enjoyed the maple butter flavor. ♡
