AromaBox June 2019 "Sage Sampler" Review

Aroma Box by Herb Stop Essential Oil June 2019 - Booklet Top 1

This month's theme is "Sage Sampler."

Aroma Box by Herb Stop Essential Oil June 2019 - Booklet Top 2

The information sheet from Herb Stop is really impressive. There's a lot of knowledge packed in here! Every oil they sent is matched with three different usage tips. That's really helpful! Plus on the reverse side there is a recipe for "All the Sages."

I also wanted to point out that their information sheet contains important safety information under each oil. It's definitely great info to have on hand. Please make sure to keep your essential oils away from children and pets.

Aroma Box by Herb Stop Essential Oil June 2019 - White Sage Front

White Sage, 1/6 fl oz - Retail Value $28.99

All of this month's oils are different types of sage. I think most people know what sage smells like. They are very slightly different from each other in scent. White sage is very valuable! White sage is really good for dissipating negative energy and emotional healing. It has clarifying properties.

Aroma Box by Herb Stop Essential Oil June 2019 - Clary Sage Front

Clary Sage, 1/6 fl oz - Retail Value $13.60

Like white sage, clary sage helps induce calmness and tranquility, but clary sage has a more euphoric effect. It helps to relieve stress, depression, and anxiety. It can also be used for hormonal ailments such as cramps, PMS, and menopausal hot flashes.

Aroma Box by Herb Stop Essential Oil June 2019 - Dalmation Sage Front

Dalmation Sage, 1/6 fl oz - Retail Value $18.30 per 1/2 oz

I have never even heard of dalmation sage before! How interesting! Dalmation sage is also great for hormonal ailments, and can be used to help improve concentration. It is also recommended as an additive to a foot bath to relieve tired, achy feet.

Aroma Box by Herb Stop Essential Oil June 2019 - White Light Roll-On Essential Oil Blend Front

White Light Roll-On Essential Oil Blend - Retail Value $15.95

This month's blend was designed as a wearable aromatherapy that can help to calm and balance the mind, providing an impetus to move forward. It is meant to relieve worry and confusion. It is a blend of sagebrush, sweetgrass, white sage, cedarwood, rosewood, benzoin, sandalwood, oakmoss, and grapeseed oils.

The Verdict: I am consistently impressed with the AromaBox by Herb Stop. I am getting such a massive education on natural health and wellness through this subscription! The oils are top quality and purity. The curation is also spot on and always perfectly suited to the month. The value is also always consistently high. I am a big fan!

Unfortunately, a number of people I’ve spoken with tend to think of their pets as biologically as tolerant to essential oils (EOs) as is a human baby -aka “you just need to dilute more!” That is really unfortunate.

Our pets are vastly different from us in terms of both anatomy and physiology. And this is not just an issue of how potent an odor is. (Although BTW – Humans have 5 million odor-detecting cells; Cats, 200 million cells; and dogs, 300 million. Thus, our pets are 14-40 times more sensitive to odors than we are.)

Whether EOs are inhaled or absorbed through the skin, mammals (including us) need to metabolize the compounds in them. This involves cells of the respiratory tract and the liver.

However, our pets do not necessarily share all our enzymes. For example, cats are incapable of metabolizing phenols. Thus, the following EOs, all of which contain phenols, are toxic to cats: Wintergreen oil, Peppermint oil, Citrus oil (including lemon oil), Tea tree oil (melaleuca oil), Pine oil, Eucalyptus oil, Cinnamon oil, Pennyroyal oil, Sweet birch oil, Clove oil, Ylang ylang oil. (Note: This is not a complete list of EOs are are dangerous for cats, it’s an example.)

If an EO is toxic to an animal, the effect of the exposure might be noticed right away, or detection of toxicity may be delayed until the compound slowly accumulates in their system, burdening their liver, etc. Thus, lack of an immediate obvious negative reaction does not mean the EO is safe for that animal.

So yes, I absolutely agree with Tammy. Before using any essential oil, please do research on it using qualified, objective sources. And not just for your pets. For example, some EOs can interact with the medications we humans take!

If the oils are 100% pure then they are perfectly fine to use on animal and kids! I have used oils for almost 2 years and use them everyday on myself my 2 year old son and our dog. Of course you just have to have the right amount of dilution. And if diffuser with an animal in the house just make sure their not closed off in the room with the diffuser cause if they don’t like the scent they will leave and go to another room.

I don’t want to argue with you, but I really hope that whomever comes across your comment will do their own researches (from a reliable source such as The Tisserand Institute and Plant Therapy’s blog, rather than an MLM) to see how fallacious it is. Children and animals don’t process all essential oils like we can, due to their physical and physiological differences, including developmental. Do your own researches, people, that’s all I will say.
