June 2019 Brick Loot “Beach Life” Review
Each delivery arrives with a card that details each item in your box. This month, all the items tie into the “beachy” theme of the box.
Exclusive! 100% LEGO® Build – Beach Life - Designed by Aaron Newman
This first build contains 37 pieces, and when assembled it models a lifeguard chair, set upon the sand, with accessories like a water bottle and a little sand crab piece. I thought that it was a clever design and scaled nicely with my Minifigures.
Summer Fun Sail Boat
The sailboat includes 99 pieces (for both the sailboat and lighthouse below) and was instantly snagged to assemble by my 4-year-old son. Although it was slightly above his skill set, we worked together to assemble this cutie. Again, it scales nicely with the Minifigure and my son especially loved the sail that you could position however you'd like to catch the best wind.
Lighthouse with Custom LED
An LED was also included to work with the lighthouse. This lighthouse was a favorite of my son (as shown photobombing) because it included a little birdie to help at the "lookout" as he called it! It was simple to build – something that he could do himself and he loved the fact that it lights up!
BONUS – FREE ISSUE of BrickJournal Magazine – Retail Value $8.95 (Found here for $7.61)
A card was included for a free sample issue of BrickJournal which is published 6 times per year, and my assumption is that if you received this box and ordered your free magazine right away you would most likely receive the June 2019 issue.
Exclusive! Surfer Dude 100% LEGO® Minifigure
Each month an exclusive Minifigure is included. This month, the LEGO figure is a surfer dude, complete with a surfboard.
And here is this set being used as I believe it should be – in the hands of our next generation of brick lovers!
Verdict: Another great month for Brick Loot! It was a fun summer theme and I enjoyed each of the builds included in the box.
It's difficult to calculate the exact value received due to the exclusive items. I paid $33.28 for this box ($27.28 + $6 shipping) and I received 2 great builds (3 items total) plus the Minifigure and free magazine. If you weigh the 4 items equally (not including the magazine) that’s like paying $8.32 per item. I think this box, and its curation, are well worth the cost and continue to put a smile on my face month after month.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. You'll receive the August box. You can find the currently available theme in their top banner of the website.
