Each CAUSEBOX comes with a booklet detailing the items included and the makers behind each item. I recommend reading this cover-to-cover! CAUSEBOX works with makers that give back, support fair trade, ethically source materials, etc., and it's an inspiring read!

Now, on to the items!

Tribe Alive Caftan Coverup – Retail Value $118

This caftan coverup is made with 100% cotton and I think it's the perfect weight for a summer fabric (the weave is not too heavy, not too light). The quality of construction and material is great, too. This is an impressive garment! There are three different colors you could receive, and if you're an annual subscriber, you could pick the color you wanted. (Slide through the photos to see all color options.)

In the photos, I'm modeling it in the poncho style and also as a wrap. It's a versatile piece, but I think I'll probably be using it as a wrap 90% of the time!

Quagga Green Wet Swim Pouch – Retail Value $25

This is another item that annual subscribers could select their color/pattern choice. (Slide through the photos to see both color options.)

This bag is roomy, made from recycled plastic bottles, and the prints are so fun! And if you won't use it often for swimsuits, it also is big enough to store all your various beauty products for travel too - and the inside is easy to wipe clean if there are any spills.

Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Face Cleanser – Retail Value $35

(Subscribers will receive this or the Island Aloe Gel - also a $35 retail value. Annual subscribers get to pick which one they want.)

This is one of my favorite beauty discoveries from a subscription box this year! It reminds me of my beloved Tatcha Rice Powder cleanser - for $30 less! The formula is super gentle - I've been using it daily with no issues. You just put a small amount of the powder in your hand, add a little water to form a lather, then apply to your face. The exfoliation is so gentle, and it didn't strip my skin of oils. I will definitely buy this in the future when this bottle runs out!

Altru Straw Tote – Retail Value $50

Altru is CAUSEBOX's in-house brand, and when designing this tote for the box, they also partnered with global and local charities that are fighting to protect and conserve beaches, oceans, and maritime life through research and educational programs, as well as on-the-ground, community-oriented action.

The tote has white accents with a removable blue yarn tassel. The material is very lightweight so you can easily fold this into any luggage for vacation. It's on the smaller side for a beach bag but works well to tote your essentials, and again, I'm impressed with the quality of construction.

All Good Reef Friendly Sport Sunscreen – Retail Value $15.99

This sunscreen is Non-Nano Zinc Only, 80 Minute Water Resistant, GMO-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Oxybenzone-Free. In addition to being ingredient-conscious, I love that the formula is non-greasy, and it has no detectable scent.

Banded Scrunchie 3-Pack – $10

Ah, scrunchies! Nostalgia in hair tie form! These are made with a super soft fabric, and the colors are light and summery. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to pull of rocking this look, but they are perfect for wearing around the house and keeping my hair out of my face when doing masks, etc.

Reduce Everyday Insulated Tumbler – $12.99

This double wall insulated wine tumbler is made with 100% recyclable stainless steel. It comes with a BPA-free plastic lid, too. (The lid is dishwasher safe, the tumbler is hand wash only. I put the tumbler in the top rack of my dishwasher and had no issues - but try that at your own risk!)

Antra Svarcs Art Print – $10

And in every box, CAUSEBOX works with an artist to design the box and artwork. These little postcard-sized prints are great for framing!

Verdict: This CAUSEBOX has a value of about $267! As usual, I am so impressed with CAUSEBOX. I love their mission of working with brands + companies that give back, support fair trade, etc., and the box curation is equally amazing. The value is great for a $54.95 box, and incredible with the $20 off coupon - that brings the cost down to $32.97 - under $5 an item! I think this is a wonderfully curated box for the Summer, too!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? As of publication date, yes!

I just received my box and almost everything was spot on!!! But….the waterproof zipper pouch was sewn wrong and I cannot close the bag. I’ve been trying to send a message to the Causebox email but it won’t go through. I don’t know how to exchange this item. the [email protected] does not work.

I wasn’t too excited about this box, but I may have been a bit hard on it. I was invited to a pool party yesterday and now see the absolute beauty in its curation. I threw the cover-up, pouch, sunscreen and scrunchie in the bag along with my swimsuit and was good to go. I wish the bag was just a touch bigger to accommodate a bulkier towel but that’s really a minor quibble. Overall, I am super impressed with how well all the items work together. (And the cover-up wasn’t nearly as unflattering as I feared from looking at the photos.)

I looked and it is showing a different box. it is saying the welcome summer box has different stuff in it. No straw bag or poncho. Sad. I would have gotten it if it had what is showing here.

This is my second Cause Box. I have really enjoyed both of them. The items in the boxes are very good quality. I can use most of it and will give the balance to friends. I plan to continue with this one because it is so nice. Liz did a great job on her review of this box. It made me want it even more. I didn’t own a swimsuit bag and was glad to get that.

Well, never paying full price again, that’s for sure. Next time I’ll wait for it to go 40% off, and if it doesn’t at least I won’t be bitter like I am now.

I’m annual but I feel the same way about buying this box full price. I love what the company stands for but it doesn’t make sense to be annual when the only perk is selecting two items (that usually are very similar so it doesn’t even matter to me). The constant sales reminds me of FFF.

Well I’m happy. With the discount i paid less than 5 dollars per item. That’s not counting the art print too, because I really don’t count that as an item. I’m hoping for the Sea foam poncho. I was a little surprised to see so much alcohol in the hanalei aloe gel, especially because the last thing you want to put on a sunburn is anything drying, so I am hoping to get the cleanser. Overall I am very happy for the price.

I think the caftan was really shapeless and blah. I also did not receive my tassel. To me this box seemed a little on the light side.

G

I also thought I didn’t get a tassel but it was inside the straw tote

I loved this box! I can use everything. I lucked out and got the blue pouch with the seashells that I wanted.

MicheleDeG

I caved! The price per item is fantastic with the 40% discount. I can’t wait. I hope I get the pink or blue coverup.

Claire

I couldn’t resist the $20 off as I would be happy with the straw tote alone, everything else would be extra.

I really wanted to like this box since it was the last installment of my annual sub. However, neither this nor the spring box appealed to me at all. I guess I’ve become too spoiled but it’s a bummer because I loved their earlier curations.

I liked this box and will use all the items, but my straw tote arrived without the blue tassel. For me, it needed that tassel for a nice pop of color. I’ll use it anyway for the beach, but that was kind of disappointing to me. And I wasn’t going to contact them to see if they could mail me a tassel. Seemed like a waste of resources. Otherwise it was a nice box. I was most excited for the Hanalei gel because I had a trail size from another box and loved it. Was glad to get a full-size here.

Mary

My blue tassel wasn’t on the bag but packed separately (think my kids found it inside the bag). Any chance yours is hiding somewhere else in the box?

Reply ButtonReply

Scarlet

Thanks for the tip, Mary. Glad you found yours! I did search every inch of the box just in case. I happened to have gotten crappy news that morning so the box was a bright spot when it arrived. When I noticed the tassel missing, I made myself calm down and did a thorough search of the box contents. Again, not the worst thing in the world, but timing is everything so I was probably way more upset that day about a missing accessory than I should have been! 🙂

sharryberry72

Couldn’t resist the deal. There is a straw tote I like at Target that costs more than the total of this box! Excited!

FYI… They also ship to Canada.

This box was funny for me, because everything has been used, but by my family! My daughter claimed the cover up, swim pouch, and scrunchies, (those are back in a BIG way for the preteen and teen set)! I did not mind since I have several Turkish towels from last year‘s various boxes as well as three or four other wet bag pouches so I let her have these new ones. And much to my surprise, my hubby snatched up the tumbler and has been using every day for his bourbon drinks. I started using the bag as my summer purse by accident, had an out door event to go to and it seems to be working well and I’m sure he say I will keep it off. And finally sunscreen! Who doesn’t need more sunscreen, especially in July?! And I’m getting ready to go to Costa Rica in two weeks so if I don’t use it before then is Reef friendly and safe which is good to have on hand since you can’t use certain ingredients around the reefs anymore. Bottom line it ended up being a super useable and useful box!

Dawn

Awww…you get to see the sloths! I really have Costa Rica on my bucket list

Wow, talk about autocorrect typos! Sorry that was supposed to say, “the tote seems to be working well and holding up as this years summer purse.” Lol sorry!

I got this box and the spring box and loved them both. I decided to do a year sub, to see how it pans out. I am planning to drop fff for a year and do this in exchange. I don’t need all the fff sale items, I’m so well stocked!!! We’ll see how that goes..

I love Causebox! This is the second one my daughter and I have received. I plan on getting it annually. I use the bag everyday and the tumbler also. My daughter is almost 16 and she and her friends are wearing scrunchies. She was happy to see them included in the box. I can’t wait to see what they come up with for Fall and Winter.

Love this box! The coverup was rather stiff but softened up with washing and became a wrinkly type of fabric that is so casual and gives it an interesting texture. The pouch is bigger than your usual makeup bag, perfect for drippy water bottles from the freezer.
Love the back stories on all the items. Reminds me of the old PS boxes but with a Cause.

Paula

Yep…I wouldn’t use ANY of it… 🙁

Sorry my reply was meant for the comment below

I like the idea, but Causebox always lack that last 1% for me to pull the trigger.
Looks good quality, but will I use it? Will it be useful? Or, will it be just another item ended up in trash and harm the environment more?

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

Exactly .. cute stuff, but I will not use it and I definitely do not need it. Just backed out of hitting the pay now button through paypal. Thank heavens I read these posts before going off the rails. Thank you, ladies

I feel the same. A lot of boxes have pretties but no really useable even if they’re supposed to have a purpose. O well, there’s so many subs we can pick and choose easily.

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

This all day. It’s one of those boxes that I really want to like for some reason, but it’s just never quite hit the mark for me.

Reply ButtonReply

katie

Agreed.

Ks

This was my 1st box with them because I am using everything in it so far. But I definitely agree, not a good idea to buy something if it won’t be fully utilized.

Reply ButtonReply

Becca

My sentiments exactly. Love the concept, the items are fun to look at, but most I’ll never use so I haven’t purchased it yet.

Reply ButtonReply

Victoria

Couldn’t agree more.

I really enjoyed the summer box. I have an annual subscription, but this is the last box until renewal. I do like Causebox, but I need to cut down on my subscriptions and unfortunately this one is getting cut.

I’m glad to go out with a nice box that I was able to curate. The bag is probably my favorite item — it’s lovely — and I will definitely get some use out of it.

Reply ButtonReply

Tracy

I will say, this is a very easy box to cancel.

No fuss — there is no “Are you SURE??!! Please stay!!” nonsense like I’ve seen with others (ahem, FFF). Just a simple login and click of a button. I appreciate the straightforward process and I’m happy I tried them out for a year.
