Frank And Oak Style Plan for Men July 2019 Review
Here’s the invoice for the four pieces John picked, plus the return instructions. (If you didn’t know before, Frank And Oak is a Canadian company, which explains all the French you’ll see on their packaging and paperwork!)
The Newport Washed Linen Short in True Black, 34 - Retail Price $79.50, Member Price $69.50
These shorts are perfect for this blazingly hot summer weather we're having right now. The fabric is a 70% linen, 28% cotton, and 2% spandex blend which makes them lightweight and breathable with a little bit of stretch for comfort. The regular rise, straight fit, and above the knee length are great on John. I'd say the color is more dark charcoal (rather than black) and I like the subtle texture created by the weave. I'm sure John will be living in these for the next several months.
Classic Leather Belt in Dark Brown, 34 - Retail Price $39.50, Member Price $34.50
John chose to add this belt to his box since all of his current belts are either very dressy or totally worn out. The belt itself is made from 100% leather and has a rich brown, sealed finish on the exterior and a more natural-looking finish inside. The buckle is a classic style with a brushed silver finish.
The Jasper Good Cotton Shirt in Black, L - Retail Price $59.50, Member Price $54.50
I wasn't sure about John picking a black cotton shirt when he was making his selections but I'm really glad he did. I think it looks so sharp! The shirt is part of the Good Cotton line and is made of 100% organic cotton which is grown using methods with a low impact on the environment. The Oxford weave gives the shirt a substantial feel while allowing it to breathe and the traditional box pleat on the back keeps the cut slim while giving John room in the shoulders. The extra details – chest pocket, adjustable cuff buttons, spare buttons on the inside tag – elevate this classic button-up.
Hemp Striped Shirt in White, L - Retail Price $69.50, Member Price $64.50
John loves this shirt! It's made of hemp and recycled polyester and feels a lot like linen. The fabric is on the thicker side but has a soft, loose feel. John thinks it's comfortable even when he wears it out on hot nights. The relaxed cut makes this shirt look a bit big on him but rolling the sleeves up with the built-in roll tabs helps to hide the larger fit. Like the other shirt, there is a button-down collar, adjustable cuff buttons, and extra buttons included on the inside tag. BTW, hemp takes 50% less water to grow than cotton making it a great sustainable choice of material.
The Verdict: Since John started receiving Frank and Oak's style plan, his wardrobe has not only improved in style but also in fit and quality. He and I both are always impressed by the quality, thoughtful design details, and comfort factor of their clothing. And, they work hard to be sustainable and environmentally friendly. He's a fan of everything this month but especially loves his new Newport linen shorts and hemp shirt since they look great and help keep him cool and comfortable this time of year. The price vs. quality is awesome and we've had positive experiences with the Frank and Oak Customer Service when we have had questions.
To Wrap Up:
Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized based on your style plan. Under the $25 styling fee plan, boxes ship automatically on the 1st of the month, and you can log in 2 days before shipment to add or remove items or skip the month altogether. That said, you can still follow the product links above to shop these items for yourself from their site catalog!
ACTIVE DEAL: Get $35 off your first month of Style Plan!

Value Breakdown: The regular retail price of these four items is $248. Because John is a member, he got these items for a total of $223. If he were to return all the items, he'd pay the $25 styling fee and would be refunded the remaining amount, but if he keeps at least one item at the discounted price, no styling fee will be charged.
