My Ipsy Glam Bag June 2019 Review

My bag this month features skincare, makeup, and nail polish. I received several of the same items as Megan this month. You can check out her bag here. Now, let’s see what I got!

A card with information about the month's theme, your included items, and other Ipsy info is included.

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month contained the long-awaited Tetris themed bags!

Delectable by Cake Beauty Triple Citrus Blend Butter Wash Body Polish, 30 ml - Estimated Value $1.53 (Buy 236 ml full-size for $12.00)

This deliciously-scented scrub is really hydrating and creamy when slathered on. It's not very scrubby but has just enough grit to be a good everyday dry area buffer. It rinses away easily and I love the citrusy summer scent it leaves in my bathroom.

Hey Honey Wild Berry & Honey Yogurt Recovery Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Value $10.29 (Buy a full-size 70 ml for $48.00)

I love a good moisturizing cream mask, so I was pleased to see this in my bag! The berry yogurt scent and little popping beads made application of this lotiony-textured mask pleasant. After about 20 minutes it was dry (but not tight and crunchy) and I removed it with a warm washcloth. As soon as I started applying my other products, I noticed pilling, as if not all of the mask came off. While I like how this mask made my skin feel (nice and hydrated) I have others that are better and rinse away without leaving a film.

Fluide 7-Free Polish in ‘Secret Project Robot’, 10 ml - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $15.00

I'm beginning to think I need to edit my nail polish collection. None of my other polishes apply as smoothly and evenly as this one does. The intense royal blue shade is opaque with two thin coats and dries down to a shiny finish. The formula is 7-free and vegan.

Tetris x ipsy Lip Gloss in Tetrimino4g - FULL SIZE!

This gloss is exclusive to Ipsy and part of the Tetris x ipsy Collection. Fun! The gloss is thick, moisturizing, and not too sticky. The gold champagne shimmer looks fresh and pretty on bare lips, or, you can pop a layer over any lip color for a more dimensional look. And, it smells like cupcakes!

Soroci Lycomato Super Restorative Sleeping Mask, 15g - Estimated Value $7.50 (Buy a 60g full size for $30)

I've tried this mask two different ways and I'm just not a fan. As a sleeping mask, it's too lightweight for my very dry skin. I like a sleeping mask to basically be an occlusive to seal all of my skincare products into my skin. As a moisturizer, the light gel-lotion texture feels nice but never quite sinks in and leaves my face feeling kinda slimy. If you like a lightweight sleeping mask, this might work for you.

Verdict: This Ipsy Glam Bag is a little difficult to estimate the total value of since I don’t have a retail cost of that Tetris lip gloss. Without including the gloss, I received a total value of $34.32. Since I am (and have always been) a Tetris fan, I think the bag and lip gloss are so cool. And the lip gloss is a really nice formula! I'm also impressed with the formula of the nail polish. Both masks ending up being a bust for me, which is a bummer. I still think it's great to be able to try all of these products for just $10 a month and I almost always find something I love.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly! As of publication, there was no Ipsy waitlist. Check here to see what month you’ll get first.

Good to know: Ipsy sends out variations. You may get a completely different bag than me.

Value Breakdown: At $10 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Delectable Body Polish - $0.45
  • Hey Honey Recovery Mask - $3
  • Fluide Polish - $4.37
  • Tetris Lip Gloss - n/a
  • Soroci Sleeping Mask - $2.19
  • Makeup bag - n/a

Alternatively, each of the 5 items (not including the makeup bag) has an average cost of $2.00

Not sure why my previous comment on this topic wasn’t posted, but FYI…Goodwill accepts Ipsy bags. I’ve bought old Ipsy bags from them, like the Gudetama one. Just suggesting an alternative to throwing them in the trash!

I received same bag and to be honest I don’t like it, I think is time to pause for a least 3 months , the new ” personalization” is so bad I have brushes with the rarety option and I receive it very often

I NEVER get most of the things I have set to often (concealer, foundation, and BB & CC creams for example) BUT I almost always get 1 or 2 skincare items that I love! And then quite a few things that I have set to rarely, shadows, brushes, masks… I get a TON of highlighters, no more highlighters please!

I was happy to get that nail polish because it is such a pretty blue but it is worst nail polish I have ever used. It chips within an hour I have tried it 3x and by day 3 half of it is off my nails

I got this polish too, and while it wore fine on me (it didn’t start chipping until Day 5 or 6), it did stain my nails a tiny bit. It almost made the tips of my nails look like I had dirt under them. Fortunately, I used a bright red that happened to cover the stain, and I think it should fully remove once I remove this week’s polish. (I have had polishes that have stained my nails before, and they always fully remove after I remove the next week’s polish)

Luckily I only tested that polish on one nail because it stained terribly for me. Including that under the nail issue. Maybe my nails are more porous since I ran out of hair and nail vitamins. I had to paint over it immediately. It’s a shame because I liked the color and even the bottle and logo design but what a crazy RV for a polish with such terrible performance.

Lori

I got that nail polish and while I loved the color, it started chipping the first day I wore it, even with a great topcoat. As a result, I rated the BRAND poorly and then I didn’t get the super cute polish option in this month’s bag, even though I’ve consistently gotten nail polishes nearly every month WAH!!! 🙁

This is the first time in three years that I actually threw the bags in the trash because they were so ugly (and I LOVE Tetris). However, I love the gloss, and use it almost every day (both colors).

Gosh I wish you would have posted something out here. I would have given you something for those bags you threw away. I love the bag

One persons trash is another’s treasure! These bags are a hot commodity on the swap site and I would have loved to saved these from your trash bin. 😮

Flora

How does that saying go? One person’s trash is another’s treasure. Wow, I need to go dig in your trash lol. They are actually a hot commodity on the swap site.

amber

LOTS of people didn’t think they were ugly, and that is so wasteful to throw them in the trash.
