Korean Snack Box June 2019 Beach and Pool Box
Every month, we have an info card that lists giveaway information and a link of the theme curation (check it out here!)
This month’s curation is for the beach time, as it’s now the time to go to the beach! Korean Snack Box recommends the Busan Haendae Beach area or the Gangwon-do province’s Sokcho Beach for the beautiful scenery and fresh breezes~ This month’s curation is a gathering of perfect snacks to eat along the way to the pool or a wild water amusement park!
To the pool!
Break Break / 뿌셔뿌셔
Best. Snack. Ever. Instead of your average flavor powder coated cracker, this snack uses dried curly ramen noodles and a savory flavor packet. Like the name, you first break the ramen (don't cook!), put in the powder, and shake! Deliciously crunchy, perfectly sweet with a hint of spiciness. The best munchy for a Netflix and chill moment!
Maigumi / 마이구미
Maigumi is one of the most popular gummy brands in Korea, using real fruit juice and a sweet, chewy texture in the shape of our favorite fruits. We get to try the new strawberry jam flavor, tasty with a bit of sourness as well. Unfortunately, mine must have melted in the sun, but can you still see the red and green? Love the color (*´∀`*)
Bing Bing / 빙빙
This ice cream style cone is actually a wafer cookie with a mousse-like chocolate inside. There are two flavors: strawberry and chocolate. The wafer cookie was very crunchy with a hint of vanilla flavor (almost cookie dough like!)
Strawberry-flavored white chocolate topped the wafer with the usual, but nonetheless delicious, artificial pink flavor.
This flavor tastes exactly like melted chocolate ice cream! It was so good and was the flavor I preferred of the two. Though these came melted, a little refrigerator time fixed them right up!
Oh Yes Strawberry Yogurt Flavor / 오예스 딸기요거트
Perhaps you know of the famous Choco pie? Oh Yes! is another famous Korean chocolate-coated soft cake, but it uses a distinct bitter chocolate taste that I really like.
The yellow cake inside is soft and pillowy, and pairs so well with the bitter and light coating. Usually, there's a layer of chocolate cream, but this summer edition flavor uses strawberry yogurt cream for that iconic Neapolitan ice cream taste!
Margaret / 마가렛트
These handmade little circles of goodness are one of my mom's favorite cookies I've always found around the house. These buttery cookies are so soft and just melt into buttery goodness with the occasional crunch of peanut and almond bits. Beautiful nutty flavor ( ´ ▽ ` )
Plum Candy / 자두사탕
First goodie in our lucky bag are these plum candies. Can we take a second to admire this gorgeous marble of sugar?! I love the shade of pink and little accent! And as lovely as the pastel tones is the taste, a heavenly mixture of peach and plum flavors. Perfect to pop in your mouth at any time ♡
Malang Candy / 말랑카우
Malang, or 말랑, in Korean means soft and chewy. This little candy uses a unique pillowy, almost sticky marshmallow-type texture with a condensed milk flavor. Definitely saving the other two for when I'm feeling down— they'll bring me a smile with their funny texture and sweet milkiness!
Korean Fortune Bag / 복주머니
Every Korean Snack Box gifts a beautiful 복주머니, or a lucky fortune bag made in Korea! This month’s design uses summer colors. Bright yellows and greens are adorned with well-tied yellow and white knots!
Verdict: Another fun and extremely delicious collection! Though I’m not one for bringing snacks like these to the pool for swim meets (protein bars are the way to go!) I thoroughly enjoyed these as my cheat day snacks— the ramen noodles were my companion in watching the new Designated Survivor season, and as usual the little candies were soon hidden away in my many pencil cases for future sweet surprises. Of course, I can’t forget to mention the tasty summery strawberry flavors. ♡
