Meowbox July 2019 Review
Meowbox has a lot of exclusive toys that are usually pretty popular with my cats. From my perspective, it’s nice to see some things that don’t turn up in other cat subscription boxes:
The information card typically just gives a URL for finding out more information about the items in the box. The picture is adorable, as usual. This month had a pool party theme.
Splish Splash Ball – Retail Value $5
This has a slicker texture on the outside and a rattle inside. This is a total Angus and Monkey toy and they have already batted it around some. It’s only a matter of time before Angus knocks it under some furniture.
Bikini Top Toy from The Empurrium
This is handmade and exclusive to the box, so it’s not available for sale online. The strings were super popular among my kitties. It seems well made, although I think this one will be for supervised play only due to the possibility of the strings getting wrapped around something.
Pool Purrty Flamingo Wand – Retail Value $10
I love it when there are wands in this box. Sneaky, especially, had fun with this one, although Angus liked it too. And Madison liked the feathers, though he wouldn’t do anything cute on camera when we were playing with this.
Watermelon Slice – Retail Value $5
This is more of a face-rubbing toy for the old men (Monkey and Madison). It is lightweight and Angus will probably toss it around some as well. Of course there is catnip in addition to the plush stuffing inside.
Yappetizers 100% Pure Dehydrated Lamb Heart (20g)
I couldn’t find these for sale in this size online (this is a Canadian product). These were really big pieces and although everyone was interested in the smell (I let Angus sniff them because as far as I know, he has never had lamb before, so it should be OK for him to try) and several cats tried to bite them, they were a bit too big for the cats to eat. Or so I thought. Until Sneaky took one, bit it in half, and ate the entire half she bit off. But Sneaky was never one to shy away from a food challenge.

Angus sniffed this but ultimately wasn’t interested.
Angus had a pretty good time with the bikini top toy as well as the flamingo wand.
Madison is not amused.
Madison licked the lamb hearts but didn’t end up eating any.
He was also really interested in the “wrong” part of the wand.
I don’t know how Monkey got a bit of this treat on his nose. But I do really like these pictures (even if he didn’t end up eating this either).
Sneaky DID eat these treats. Rather a lot at one time.
She liked the same toys as Angus, too. Don’t tell her that, since she doesn’t like Angus very much.
Verdict: I couldn’t calculate a total value for the July Meowbox because not every item was available for sale online. There were five items for an average value of $4.59, which seems reasonable. This box was apparently right up Sneaky’s alley as she loved the flamingo wand as well as the lamb hearts, but every item was a hit with at least one cat (easier to do in a multi-cat household, of course) and the theme was very cute.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It may be too late for the July box, so your subscription would likely start with August, but you can buy some of the individual items from the Meowbox store; just click the links in the item names.
