Pura Vida Jewelry Club "The Del Mar Set" July 2019 Review
One thing I enjoy about Pura Vida is that they always send some nice stickers with their jewelry. The designs are really fun and they always come packaged inside this foldout card that shares their story and details how they give back. They create over 200 full-time jobs for artisans worldwide!
Your jewelry will arrive in this nice sturdy box with a magnetic closure that would be perfect for gifting. Inside is some fun tropical tissue paper that makes for such a nice presentation! The card on top of our tissue paper welcomes us to the club and reminds us how our exclusive jewelry is only available to club members.
Just a note: This card states that the value will be up to $50, while their website lists it as being up to $65. This is a little confusing, and also could be misleading since the higher value is listed on their website, but after a quick (and easy) chat with customer service they confirmed that the $65 value is correct. Hopefully, they correct these cards soon!
Inside the box were two little dust bags, one for each piece of jewelry. These are a bit different than the ones that come in their bracelet club pack. These are a little smoother and sleeker in my opinion.
Mother of Pearl Charm Bracelet - Estimated Value $25 (Based on similar rings in their shop)
The first piece in our Del Mar Set is this genuine Mother of Pearl charm bracelet. The chain is a very pale gold which is a beautiful compliment to the pearl accents. I love all of the details in this piece such as the tiny pearl at the end of the clasp. It also has three different settings so it will adjust to fit most wrists. The bar itself is nice and thick making it feel like a substantial piece that will stand up to most activities while wearing it.
Here I have the bracelet on the middle setting and you can see there is still a good bit of room on my wrist. It is very light and comfortable to wear and since it has that beautiful branded gold bar and tiny pearl on the other side, this one still looks nice even when it gets turned around on your wrist!
Mother of Pearl Pendant Necklace -Estimated Value $38 (Based on similar necklaces in their shop)
The necklace is almost identical to the bracelet but with a larger bar and chain, of course. It even features the same delicate details at the clasp and also has three adjustable settings for different fits. The bar is again nice and thick and since it is a bit larger than the bracelet you can appreciate the beauty of the genuine Mother of Pearl even more.
Here is the necklace on the middle setting.
Here are the two pieces together. The only difference other than the size is that the bracelet is attached in the center of the bar while the pendant of the necklace is attached at the top so that it hangs just below the chain.
Here are the two pieces together. I think they work well for both a casual or dressy look that is perfect for summer!
The Verdict: This was another great set from Pura Vida jewelry club! I love gold and while I know it is not for everyone, I am hoping that this paler shade of gold will be a bit more acceptable for those who prefer silver! If not, this set would make a beautiful gift, especially considering the nice presentation of the packaging. The genuine Mother of Pearl accents are a great choice for a summer set and even better, they "are thought to relieve stress, stimulate imagination, and bring harmony to the wearer" which is a nice sentiment, as well! I am pleased with the quality and style of these and I think they are a great value for a $19.95/month box!
