Each box comes with a booklet detailing the items included, styling tips, and a letter from Rachel.

Now, on to the items!

Missoni Home Rufus Terry Beach Towel – Value Listed $220

  • 63" x 35.5″

This 100% cotton towel is so lovely! It's a super soft terry, and unlike some beach towels that have a bit of a shiny finish, this one could work equally well as a bath towel.

I always lust after Missoni home items when I see them in magazines, so this towel alone makes the box worth it for me. (My current Missoni home item collection now includes this towel + the candle from the 2014 Neiman Marcus X POPSUGAR Must Have Limited Edition Box - thanks, subscription boxes!)

Danielle Nicole Macramé Handbag – $100

  • 21 x 11″ (Handle and fringe included)
  • Braided 46″ crossbody strap
  • Hand crafted in India

This bag feels very on trend and well-crafted. The macame work is impressive (I have made a few macarame baskets recently, so I have extra appreciation for the hours needed to make this purse.) The wooden handles add to the '70s boho feel, and the crossbody strap is such an awesome addition - it makes the purse much more wearable for me.

One thing to note, the bag is lined, but there is no zipper or button closure, so I've been putting my essentials in a zippered ipsy glam bag, and then putting that bag into the purse to make sure nothing falls out.

Machete Kate Hoops – $44

  • 1.5″ in diameter.
  • Stainless steel, hypoallergenic post.
  • Made in Italy with Italian Acetate

Subscribers get to pick the color of their choice: Opal or Tortoise. Again, I'm very impressed with the materials and craftsmanship. The acetate is beautiful, the design feels somehow both classic and on trend, and these are so lightweight!

Glo Skin Beauty Oil-Free Moisturizer SPF 40+ – Retail Value $38

This sunscreen is lightweight, oil-free, and has no greasy finish. It absorbed almost instantly and left my skin feeling so smooth - I've been skipping primer and using just this as my base for makeup.

Benefit Cosmetics 24-Hr Brow Setter Shaping & Setting Gel – Retail Value $24

This brow gel goes on clear, provides hold, but doesn't get too firm. It's a beauty staple I'm always happy to see in a subscription box. I've been using The BrowGal pencil from the June Allure Beauty Box + this brow gel and loving my low-effort brow rountine for summer!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $426. I think that's great for $99.99! (And of course, even better with their $25 coupon! I'm really impressed with the quality of the items in this box - plus I think there are items I will use for years to come. If you are looking for a quality over quantity subscription box - this is it. (And if you aren't going by retail values, this breaks down to $19.99 an item, or $15 an item with the MSA25  coupon.)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this box was still available.

Ok so I got my box and for the price I paid I’m happy but I defintely see the quality everyone else is bringing up. I did google the towel I remember seeing and that one only has missoni written on the bottom not misonnihome so it isnt the old stock I was hoping we were getting. I’m guessing we did receive a lower quality one like the freebie with perfume purchase but that home printed for the box and perfume printed for the free gift. Does anyone have a legit missoni towel they can use for comparison?

Michelle

That purse might be cuter with about 1/2 that fringe gone.

Sammee

Agree. I kinda wish I could zap the fringe off 🙂

I agree. It is nice quality though…and on trend. I debated on keeping…I’m kind of forcing myself to use the items from boxes I’m “meh” on. I figure that’s part of the purpose of subs…to try different items, brands, at lower cost while sacrificing choice.

Does anyone know, can you still get the gilt city deal and the duster? BOS is still advertising the duster but with a promo code so i’m assuming you can’t use the code also if the gilt voucher code goes in the promo box?

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

The Gilt City voucher for $30 off + bonus towel is still available. As for the duster, go to BoS, put the box in your cart and head to the checkout page (if you’ve purchased a box from them before, make sure you’re not logged in as I believe the duster is for new accounts only). If the duster shows up in the item listing, then you don’t need a code to get it and should be able to combine it with the Gilt voucher provided you are purchasing under a new account. I say this somewhat cautiously as I’ve read at least one report of BoS not delivering on everything, but it worked for me and apparently others as well.

I’m probably too late but I just tried to find this deal on GC and nothing I use to search for it comes up. But this kind of thing has happened before with their site. If you don’t use the precise search words it won’t show up even if it’s actually still available. Do you (or anyone else) have any suggestions? Thanks!

Annette

If you look on the redemption link for using the gilt voucher , it shows the duster included…if doesn’t look like you need to put in a special promo code to get it. Hope it works, I am waiting on my box…due to arrive Saturday, I can’t wait !!

My box with two towels and the duster weighed 8lbs according to Fedex but it seems like they sent some with everything and some were missing one or both promos.

Julie

The towel that’s a free gift with purchase had missoni Parfums on it. This was for sale and can be found for around 55-75 in department store clearance. I checked to be sure it wasnt another special collaboration before I grabbed a box on gilt.

Exactly, these aren’t the same GWP towels. Obviously the $200+ RV is inflated; however, the towels in this box are being sold elsewhere, albeit on sale (rather than an “exclusive” BOS item or a free GWP item). I was able to take advantage of the Gilt deal and snagged two towels plus the free duster. Though my expectations weren’t very high, I ended up havinf an extremely positive experience dealing with a BOS CS rep via chat (to confirm that two towels would indeed be included in my shipment, since it didn’t show up in my BOS order confirmatio ). My box shipped within a few days of purchase, and I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality of the items. The purse is really cute and appears to be well-made (though I wish it had a magnetic closure at the top). The towels are nice (I’m satisfied with them for the price I paid). The earrings are lovely, and thankfully, not too heavy so I can actually wear them. The beauty products seem nice but I will likely swap them. All in all, I think this is a very solid box with useful, on-trend items.

Mine says Missoni Home and is the exact same one that is in the box

Lyn

I caved on this box when they had it on Gilt so it was $30 off as well as offering an extra towel and the palm duster thrown in too. That was worth $70 to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Jaymee

I like the towels. I got 4 of them through gilt offer (2) boxes but there is NO WIH that i’d pay $220 for each towel. I also liked the earrings I got both colors. I thought i would like the bag BUT I’m not a fan after trying it out. The other products are up for swap….I also loved the pink RZ boxes for storage…. Next time I’ll probably just shoot for buying what I like on Poshmark. I missed out on the dusters, not my cup of tea anyways. Sorry for the RANT.

Michelle

The towel should not have a value given considering that it was a free gift with purchase.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Liz maybe you could mention that the towel is actually just leftovers from a free gift with purchase promo. Not a real Missoni towel per se. More like an exclusive and we all know what that means.

I ended up loving the purse and using it a lot this summer on a long maternity leave. I didn’t expect that, but I agree with Liz about the crossbody strap making the purse so usable. I got a second towel when Macy’s had the same towel as a gift with Missoni cologne purchase in May and will use them in a guest bathroom in my house. I love the colorful design. The box was an all around win for me.

Reply ButtonReply

AnninVA

Just to clarify- the towel that was a gift with purchase at Macy’s is almost but not exactly the same as the one in this box. The one difference is borders on the short sides say “Missoni Perfume” in larger letters in the center rather than “Missoni Home” in the right corner. To me it’s close enough to use them as a set.

Has anyone else tried the glo? Trying to decide if I should keep or gift. Review is making me want to keep but I originally wanted to gift

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

I agree about the quality of the towel. I have Walmart towels that are better quality. You’re basically being blinded by a fancy designer name.

I can’t believe I didn’t realize this box wasn’t reviewed yet. Anyway, this box was just ok to me, but I tend to favor the fall and winter of these quarterly boxes anyway.

@LizCadman could you please tell me if I could remove the wooden handles from the bag without completely ruining it? I’ve tried to find out many times but nobody has been able to help me so far.

Reply ButtonReply

MissJ

I would just cut the wood into two pieces and remove it.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Hm, just looked at the bag, and I don’t think there’s an easy way to remove them without needing to do some sewing/macrame work. Alternatively, I could easily fold the handles into the bag, and then you’d just need a way to secure them to the lining of the bag, like a large safety pin or something. Not a super permanent solution, but would definitely make it look like there are no handles! Hope that helps a bit 🙂

Jen

Thank you!!!

Liz loving the Farrah Fawcett hair. Gorgeous.

I’m curious what Italian Acetate is as opposed to just acetate. They used old parm rinds to get that milky effect or something?

Reply ButtonReply

KerryD

The only good thing about this towel is the pattern. If that’s worth $220 to some people, more power to them.
I have a pool and I can tell you that this is the cheapest feeling beach towel that I’ve ever felt. It is SO thin, you can’t even dry off with it. Guess it’s all about the name brand…but I would suggest that Missoni stay out of the towel business if this is the “quality” they’re providing.

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

Here’s the thing most people don’t realize. This towel was made specifically for this box/or a gift w/ purchase. So the name is there and that is it. This happens at discount stores where big designers make cheap clothing specifically for that shop. You think you’re getting this designer good and it’s just a joke because everyone knows it’s a cheap Chinese made product and yet you’re paying a higher price just because of the label.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Yes! This is NOT a real Missoni towel people! It’s a dollar store quality towel with a designer name slapped on it. Leftovers from a gift with purchase basically.

Michelle

Totally agree! I have Walmart towels that are better quality. People are blinded by a fancy designer name and lose all common sense.

Elizabeth

Glad I saw this! I was totally going to cave for the towel but don’t need another towel or anything else in this box!

Thank you- I’ve been patiently waiting for this review 🙂

Liz, I am glad to see a disclaimer on their customer service although I think you should add to not only read that post but the comments. I really enjoy your site but BOS is seriously shady when it comes to paying customers and I’m disapppinted that you continue to give them advertising on this site. Considering how repeatedly unethical they are, I hope you will reconsider so newcomers don’t become victim to their business practices.

Reply ButtonReply

Coco

OMG – after reading all the comments about their deplorable practices and customer service, I would NEVER subscribe to this box. Buyer beware.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Thanks for the feedback. Just updated the disclaimer to include a recommendation to read the comments as well. Thank you!

Jane

I have zero interest in this box. I only pulled up the review because I miss reading Liz’s reviews and I wish she would go back to doing more of the box reviews.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Right? I always enjoy Liz’s reviews best. It’s sad to see her so infrequently. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

Me three I miss her reviews too. She IS the face of MSA so is missed.

Christy

Rachel, stop trying to make this box happen. It’s NOT going to happen!

Jackie

But that towel, I can’t wait 🙂
