Scentbird July 2019 Review
This month, I received Scentbird’s “Scent of the Month.” You can either opt for the scent of the month or you can fill a queue with fragrances of your choosing:
There was what is basically an advertising flyer for this month’s scent, “Love High” by Confessions of a Rebel.
Love High by Confessions of a Rebel – Estimated Value $8.80 (buy 100 mL for $110)
We have received a scent from Confessions of a Rebel before. This is a brand that was just founded in 2018 and is either run by or has a pretty exclusive partnership with Scentbird, because you can buy fragrances from the Confessions of a Rebel Shopify site or from Scentbird and that seems to be it. They don’t even have a Fragrantica page yet. All their fragrances are vegan and cruelty-free and are theoretically unisex.
This one is listed as fruity and woody and is said to lean feminine. However, when I put it on, it smelled a bit masculine to me, but in way that’s all right as I tend to prefer less traditionally feminine fragrances. This has notes of peach nectar, orange flower, jasmine sambac, sandalwood, and apple. I think the most prominent note to me is the sandalwood, but it’s moderated a bit by the fruits. This is not strongly floral (I wouldn’t have known there was jasmine if I hadn’t read the information card). I don’t know of too many other fragrances with this particular profile, and I kind of like it. Sillage is average and longevity is also average (which is to say, way better than last month).
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $8.80, which is slightly more than half the month-to-month cost of the subscription. Your value will depend entirely on what fragrance you choose and if you care to do the math beforehand, you can come out pretty well. For me, though, this is more about discovering fragrances that will work for me, and if they have a bit of a lower value, I can deal with that. I love this month’s fragrance and will use the whole 8 mL vial before the end of the year.
Please note: Some MSA readers have been having trouble getting their Scentbird shipments on time lately so be sure to read the comments on some of the past reviews to get a sense of what the issues are when making the decision to sign up.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, all you have to do is choose this fragrance for your queue.
Value Breakdown: This subscription is $14.95/monthly and this month, I received $8.80 worth of fragrance (but again, this is highly variable based on what scent or product you choose).
