The Vegancuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full-size and sample beauty items. Vegancuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.
This review is of the $22.95 a month Vegancuts Beauty Box.
Vegancuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag, which looks like more of an environmentally-friendly material than the old bags. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Vegancuts Beauty Box July 2019 Review
The Vegancuts Beauty box usually contains a variety of haircare, skincare, and bath and body products. There’s often one makeup product, as well:
Each Vegancuts Beauty Box comes with an information card detailing the items for that month.
AG Hair Dry Lift Texture and Volume Paste (0.4 fl oz) – Estimated Value $6.40 (buy 1.5 fl oz for $24)
I am pretty sure this product is intended for a hair type other than mine. Because it has kaolin and volcanic ash to absorb excess oil. But my hair is dry and there basically *is* no excess oil. It is also listed as being good for refreshing second-day hair and I exercise every day and need to shampoo every day and so I never have second-day hair. Anyway, this is a good brand and I have purchased other products from them. This one just doesn’t work for me (which is kind of too bad because I do like the looks used to demonstrate what this does).
ULiv Skincare Golden Glow Oil Cleanser (1 fl oz) – Listed Value $10 (buy a full size for $28)
I have, in my years of subscribing to beauty boxes, come across two different kinds of oil cleansers. One is the K-beauty kind, which is intended to be followed up by a foaming cleanser. The other is the kind that needs to be removed with a cloth (like those Liz Earle ones that Birchbox used to send out). I *think* this is the second. Because I tried at first to use it like the K-beauty kind and it took a ton of foaming cleanser to remove it all. Like way more than usual. It does work that way, and is pretty good at removing makeup, though it just doesn’t come off with water. Like at all. I prefer not to use a washcloth on my face so I will make it work as part of a double cleansing routine. This one leaves a bit of a lingering scent on your skin afterwards, it’s not bad but it’s unusual for a skincare product scent. (I have no idea how large the full size is so I used the value from the information card.)
Eco Lips Lip and Cheek Tint in Nude (0.56 oz) – Retail Value $8.99
I was prepared not to like this much when I tried it out, but was pleasantly surprised. With these dual-use products, I tend to pick one use and stick with it, and for me, this was a cheek color. I am super pale though, and that will likely not be the case for everyone. Anyway, this went on my cheeks without messing up my foundation and powder, and it lasted all day without irritating my skin.
Here is a swatch of the lip and cheek tint. I promise it is there.
Delia Organics Wake Up Moisturizing Lotion (1 fl oz) – Retail Value $17.99
This has an unusual texture but I decided that I’m a fan. It’s kind of meant to be a toner and moisturizer in one, and I think it actually manages to get the job done. This absorbed into the skin well, like a toner, but it was much thicker than a toner, which helped with the moisturizing. Also it didn’t make my face slick or anything, so I was able to put on makeup without trouble afterwards. Plus it smells good. I would be happy to see more products from this brand in the future.
The Cottage Greenhouse Carrot and Neroli Handcreme (4 oz) – Retail Value $24
This is a Margot Elena product. (Maybe you knew that, but I didn’t, because I don’t subscribe to many beauty boxes anymore.) It isn’t super-industrial-thick, but it is a good weight for me for this time of year. It absorbs well and is free of dyes. It smells good, although I can’t say what precisely it smells like to me. Some kind of flower (neroli I guess) perhaps? There’s not much “carrot” to the scent. Please note the tube is foil and needs to be punctured, but this does not have the pointed insert in the cap to allow for puncturing, so I had to scramble around my bathroom to find a suitable pointy object (some cuticle scissors did the trick). I am a fan of the metal tube, though, as it seems much more environmentally friendly than plastic.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $67.38 for this month’s Vegancuts Beauty Box. Although the hair product wasn’t a great fit for me (Vegan Cuts hair products are often not good fits for me so this isn’t a surprise), the lip and cheek tint was a pleasant surprise, as was the moisturizing lotion. Of course I will use up all the hand crème and the cleansing oil as well. I also liked that the value was more evenly distributed this month so that if one item doesn’t work for people, the others still might, and you’d still be getting a good deal on the subscription.
