My Review of Frank And Oak's Style Plan Picks: Autumn Looks

When you first sign up for this subscription, you fill out a quick style profile that captures your sizing preferences and your sense of style. (Choose from Casual, Classic, and Creative). Then, you can pick whether you'd like a monthly or a bi-monthly plan and set your budget for each box (under $150 or $150+).

Frank And Oak gives you a chance to note the kinds of items you're looking for each month before they put together your box. You can request at least three types of items, like shirts, jeans, or accessories. Frank And Oak will then use that info when putting together your Style Plan options for the month.

Not long after, you'll get an email from Frank And Oak letting you know your preview is ready. In the email, there's a link you can follow to see what's set to arrive in that month's Style Plan box. You can make changes (either to the sizes selected or the products themselves) or decide to keep the three items Frank And Oak has automatically picked. I usually end up making at least one or two of my own picks, not because Frank And Oak's suggestions aren't good, but because I just kind of like the feeling of getting to pick and choose, haha!

Ready to see what I got this month? Let's dive in!

Frank And Oak Sock Trio - Retail Value $19.50, Member Price $17.50

This is my first time trying Frank And Oak socks, and I'm really pleased! These 100% cotton socks are snuggly, soft, and breathable. They have kind of a retro, collegiate vibe to them with their autumn colors (the pairs are burgundy, pale heather gray, and mustard yellow) and double stripes around each ankle. They reach about a third of the way up my calf and don't shimmy down my leg too easily, which is nice. I think they'll look super cute under cropped skinny jeans and denim skirts this fall.

Denim Pinafore Dress in Washed Black, Size Large - Retail Value $99.50, Member Price $84.50

Are you feelin' the Fleabag vibes?

ARE YOU??? (Phoebe Waller-Bridge, call me! I love you!)

I am smitten with this denim jumper. I feel like I could have opted for a medium and it would've fit a little closer (maybe more like a dress), but my size 10 hips appreciate the breathing room the wider, slightly bell-shaped jumper offers. I feel like the cut of the V-shaped neckline is really flattering, and I appreciate that the look is secured by SNAPS rather than buttons. (The snaps make this jumper so easy to pop in and out of.) And as much as I love putting together cool looks and getting creative with what I wear, I don't always have the time or patience to do it—I LOVE that I can lazily toss this jumper over any old t-shirt or turtleneck and still end up with a funky, fashionable outfit.

SeaCell Cotton Oversized Cropped Sweater in Golden Palm, Size Medium - Retail Value $89.50, Member Price $84.50

Okay, so get this. This sweater feels like a standard cotton sweater—it's cozy, it's soft, it's anything but stuffy—but it's made of 55% cotton and 45% SeaCell, a biodegradable fiber made from seaweed and natural cellulose. How cool is that? I love Frank And Oak's sustainable angle. They do a great job of making eco-friendly products that still look and feel fantastic. We got a little shock of fall weather this week where I live, and this sweater has been a godsend. It's that great transition-season weight. Plus, I find the color and cut really cool and fresh. Mustard has become a new neutral for me—it feels like it goes with everything I throw at it.

Verdict:  Frank And Oak Style Plan is still one of my faves. The quality of the clothes is always top-notch and feels fair for their price points. I do wish they'd hold off on charging you until the end of a try-on period like other styling services do. (Frank And Oak charges you for whatever they send you up front, though they will refund you for whatever you return and their styling fee goes towards whatever you choose to keep.) But I've really enjoyed discovering the sustainable styles offered by this brand!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each Frank And Oak Style Plan box is customized based on your preferences, so what you get will likely be different than what I did. Follow the product links above to see if these specific items are still available individually, and sign up for your own Style Plan to discover even more great looks!

ACTIVE DEAL: Get $35 off your first month of Style Plan!
CODE: MSA35

Value Breakdown: The retail price for the three items I received this month is $208.50, but the Style Plan price is $186.50. (So, a savings of $22.00.) If I decide to return all the items, I will pay the $25 styling fee and will be refunded the remaining amount, but I can keep any one item at the discounted price and no styling fee will be charged.

I love this sub and you always look so great in everything. What keeps me from subbing, though, is the weak discount they give you. They regularly run promotions like 20% off that would take the prices way lower than the member prices. I know you can return more easily as a member, but I think a $5 discount on a $90 sweater is pretty poor.

Aw thanks Lola! I wish the discounts were a little deeper, too, especially since members pay for everything up front. (With Frank And Oak, you’re basically placing an order for items they’ve recommended you, unlike other styling programs that recommend items, send you those items, and let you try things on/decide what you want to keep before charging you.) The clothes always feel worth the price-point, and I’m the type who’s okay with spending a little more for quality/sustainably made items. But hey, who doesn’t love a REALLY good discount?! In the meantime, good job keeping an eye out for those promos! Thanks for reading <3
