Nadine West July 2019 Review
This is the invoice that arrived with my package this month. The box was comped, so the prices of the items have been struck through, but you can see what the cost to keep each item would have been.
Serenity Tree of Life Necklace - Cost to Keep $27.99
Right off the bat, I love this necklace! It's very boho and just my style! I have an affinity for the tree of life symbology, so I love having it as a pendant. I think the triple pendant look is pretty cool, and I especially like the mixed metals. The length is also great!
Lotus Chimes Earrings - Cost to Keep $15.99
These earrings are not something I would have picked out for myself, but once I tried them on, I have to say I like them! They're bigger than what I usually wear, but since I got my hair cut short, I have noticed that my earrings are usually not visible unless I pull my hair up. Not an issue with these! They are big and have a really cool pattern, plus they are super shiny!
Vikky Scarf - Cost to Keep $16.99
This is a really pretty, lightweight lacey infinity scarf. I like it a lot! I just don't wear scarves in the summer... even super lightweight ones. It's about 95 degrees right now and 90% humidity, so any added layers are completely out of the question. I can see this working somewhere that gets cool at night in the summer, but with all this humidity, it just never cools off here until October.
Kenya Pants - Cost to Keep $11.99
When I first subscribed to Nadine West a couple of years ago, they routinely had inconsistent sizing issues, but that is really and truly not the case anymore. Having said that, these cotton broadcloth pants are just a wee bit too snug and fairly unflattering to try on. It's too bad, too, because I love a breezy, wide-leg pair of pants. These are really cute and summery, too!
Melissa Top - Cost to Keep $26.99
Wow. I am trying to think of something nice to say about this top, but it just looks really bad on me. I like the color, and I think the laced-up back is a good idea in theory, so I guess those are the positives. It's an oddly thick cotton knit blend, almost like a sweatshirt, but a little thinner. The crew neck is too small and thus unflattering on my neck. I guess it's just a bad cut for me.
Carleigh Top - Cost to Keep $24.49
There! That's more like it! This is a cute top for summer! I like the length and the cut a lot; it's a really good shape for me. It's a poly/spandex blend, and the pattern is textured. It almost feels like puffy paint, remember that? The white portions of the print seem to have almost been painted on. It's really unusual!
Georgia Top - Cost to Keep $25.99
Light heather gray is kind of a bad color for me in general, and this top is too long to be flattering on me. I am also kind of over the cold shoulder trend. Having said that, it's still a cute top, and the cotton knit is super soft. It also has a nice open neckline.
Midnight Capri Pants - Cost to Keep $27.49
I would never in my life wear hot pink stretch pants, but these sure were fun to try on, y'all. Haha! I do like how vibrant they are, and I think they would look amazing on someone with nice legs. I don't know why they are called capri pants because they are full length, and it even says full length on the invoice, so that's odd. They are a nice and stretchy spandex/poly blend. They're surprisingly comfortable!
Tina Top - Cost to Keep $24.49
I like the idea of this cotton knit top a lot! It is super soft and comfortable, too. Plus olive is always a nice color as it's a great alternative to most neutrals. I think the tie at the side is also a really cute and stylish detail. I think this top is just too big and long and blousey on me.
The Verdict: I love Nadine West! My favorites this month are the necklace and the navy floral top - I know I will get a lot of use out of both. There were a few misses, but that is to be expected. I am also really happy they have started sending more pieces. More pieces mean more choices! I think if you want to treat yourself to a styling service on a budget, Nadine West is the way to go! Their pieces are not always the highest quality, but they are consistently the least expensive.
