Oui Please Volume 4.4 Review
Codage Paris Serum No. 03, 0.34 oz - Retail Value $43.75 (€39.00)
I am always happy to see pricy French skincare in this box- I'll take it all, please. This serum is designed to brighten skin and has some unique ingredients like sea chamomile, Persian silk tree, and plankton extract. I have been using this in the mornings and applying a few drops to my cheeks before spreading it across my skin. It sinks in quickly, isn't sticky, and layers well with the rest of my skincare routine.
Codage Paris Concentrated Body Milk, 5.1 oz - Retail Value $56.08 (€50.00)
I love subscription boxes because I usually try stuff first and look at the price tag after, so I have been applying this luxe body cream with no concern for the high price tag. Granted, if I sparingly used all of my luxe products I would never run out (and thus would never be able to justify getting more). This is a true body milk in that it is very lightweight, however, it still provides impressive hydration to my skin. Ingredient all-stars include shea butter, jojoba, aloe vera, baobab seed oil, and linoleic acid. Good news for my scent-sensitive friends- while this does have added fragrance, it is the very last ingredient on the list and it is so faint I would almost call this an unscented product.
Atelier Alienor Espadrilles in Indigo - Listed Value $24 (check out other shoes from the brand here)
These espadrilles are handmade with a cotton canvas upper and a jute thread and recycled textile sole. Subscribers could choose their color, and my choice was indigo. I followed the sizing instructions when selecting my size, and while the fit was pretty snug at first the cotton stretched out just enough within a few minutes of wearing them for the first time to mold to my feet. I wouldn't want to wear these if I was going to be doing a lot of walking just because I need more support in my shoes, but these are easy and comfortable to slip on with a sundress or shorts and a tee and head out the door. I also think the quality for $24 shoes is pretty great compared to what I would normally expect from such affordable shoes.
Fifth Sense Lingerie One Piece Swimsuit - Listed Value $100 (check out other swimwear from the brand here)
As I am sitting here typing this review, the fact that this item is first and foremost from a lingerie company makes sense with how revealing of a one piece this is. Subscribers could choose between black, raspberry, and rose, and sizing went up to a size XL. The fabric itself felt amazing- much nicer than my $20 swimsuit from Walmart. While the bottom of this is cut in a cheeky style, it was still flattering on my behind. Unfortunately, this swimsuit was not designed for anyone who is larger than a B cup. There is literally no support up top, and it did not make for a cute look. I am right between a large and an XL right now, and I do think the XL fit me well—meaning this suit runs a touch small. The adjustable strappy back was a neat touch, and I definitely could see myself still wearing this with a t-shirt when I am swimming with friends or using the sauna at the spa. But in front of strangers, there is no way. I will also say that while the value is provided from Oui Please, it seems on par with what other one-piece swimsuits from Fifth Sense retail for.
Les Néréides Paris Poppy Bracelet - Listed Value $60 (check out other poppy jewelry from the brand here)
I will take literally all of the Les Néréides-- the whimsical style speaks to my soul, and I love that the pieces usually are dainty while still adding a pop of color. I couldn't find this bracelet style. I actually love it-- I can put it on with one hand without issue, and the hand-enameled poppy charm is a delicate touch to my everyday style. Since this is so dainty, it layers well with other bracelets, too.
Bachca Paris Detangling Nylon Hairbrush - Retail Value $20.18 (€18.00)
I didn't expect to love this brush as much as I do, but I have been reaching for it all the time. It works similar to my wet brush to detangle my curls when my hair is wet, and it is also gentle on dry hair if I left my hair in braids to avoid dealing with my curls. I love the beechwood handle, and the ball tips on the bristles feel good on my scalp.
Bachca Paris Clic Clac Barrettes, 4 ct- Retail Value $5.49 (€4.90)
While I never considered myself especially concerned with what's trendy, barrettes like these are definitely making a comeback as a trendy accessory. This set comes with two pastel white and two metallic gold clips, and along with being trendy, they provide a strong hold when they are holding my hair back.
Bachca Paris Invisible Elastics, 4 ct - Retail Value $5.49 (€4.90)
I am a pretty religious Invisibobble user, and while I have tried similar products from other brands they typically stretch out much faster and do not provide the same hold. These impressed me-- I thought they worked just as well as my Invisibobbles!
The Verdict: While I know that the delay in shipping from Oui Please is frustrating to most subscribers, is there any other box that has sent you a pair of shoes in your size + your color choice? Plus a swimsuit? It's a new one for me, and I am impressed. I thought this was another great box covering all the bases I want in a luxe box-- nice skincare, jewelry from a beloved brand, and clothes! All I need are some French snacks, but it looks like volume 4.5 will have me covered there. Value-wise, I calculated a total value of $314.99, which exceeds the promised $300 value.
