Rihanna's Savage X Fenty lingerie line recently announced its Xtra VIP membership—a clothing shopping subscription plan that works a lot like Fabletics and ShoeDazzle.

Each month, new lingerie looks are added to their size- and skin-tone-inclusive catalog, which features a mix of flirty, romantic, and casual pieces. Shop for something new, skip the month to avoid a charge, or have $49.95 saved to your account to use in the future. Members also get discounts off retail prices all month long, plus first dibs on limited edition products.

Each month, Savage X Fenty curates a new "Xtra VIP box" of new lingerie styles and cheeky accessories. They go fast, but I've been pleased with the value I've gotten from each collection. I'll be reviewing the July box today!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Products: Quality lingerie in a wide range of sizes (bras range from 32A-44DDD, and undies and other apparel run from XS to 3X), colors (their looks cover 4 different skin-tone-inspired shades as well as a rainbow of brights), and styles (from super sexy to simple and comfortable).

Savage X Fenty "Black Widow" Xtra VIP Box Review for July 2019

Here's the info card for the box, which depicts all the products I can expect to see inside.

Savage X Fenty Ashtray

So far, every Xtra VIP box I've received has included a small gift of some sort. This month, it's a hot pink ashtray, featuring the Savage X Fenty logo on the edge and a quartet of sexy lingerie models drawn in a comic book style in the center. I have no real use for an ashtray, and I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the art style (I'm super picky about those sorts of things). Maybe it'll work as a ring dish, though. We shall see. Either way, not my favorite gift that I've gotten from a Savage X Fenty box.

Sheer Marabou Romper, Size M/L - Retail Value $64.00, VIP Price $49.00

The star of this month's box is this black mesh romper, with an elastic waist, adjustable spaghetti straps, and a poufy faux-feather trim. There are tiny buttons running up one side of the romper, too, to help with getting it on or off—I actually was able to just pull the whole thing up without touching the buttons. It's surprisingly comfortable—the mesh is really soft, as is the trim—and it definitely had me feeling like a retro femme fatale, even as I lounged rather unglamorously on my couch watching old episodes of Veep. I noticed a few of the feathers shedding off of the romper as I trotted around my apartment, and I'm a little concerned with how washing it will go. (I'm planning to just wash it lightly in my bathroom sink, and I hope I'm gentle enough to not lose any more feathers.) But it's such a fun, flirty piece to have in my closet!

Floral Lace Bralette in Black Caviar, Size Medium - Retail Value $30.00, VIP Price $24.00

I also got a coordinating bralette and panty set in the box. I love an unlined bralette (I'm okay with the minimal support, and in the summer, I prefer it), so this appealed to me right away. It's a really cute look, with a comfy wide band and an adjustable racerback (that's something I've never seen before). It feels pretty, but also a little laid back. And I don't mind it peeking out from low-slung arm holes on summertime tanks or dresses.

Floral Lace Cheeky Panty, Size L - Retail Value $18.50, VIP Price $14.50

The matching panty is cute, too. And comfortable. I like these sort of undies, where it's not as all-up-in-my-business as a thong, but isn't quite as hum-drum as a traditional brief either. My only concern with these undies is that they are mostly unlined, except for the gusset, and I've had experiences with lacy undies tearing or getting holes in them rather quickly before. I'll have to add this pair to my hand-wash/hang-dry list!

The Verdict: I really like Savage X Fenty's lingerie—they fit me great and the designs are really fun and fresh. I'm someone who can get a little self-conscious bringing a bunch of lacy, frilly underthings to a store checkout counter, so it's cool to have an online resource for those sorts of things. (And one I can rely on to come through on quality and fit.) And while I am going to give these lacy looks a ton of TLC (rather than just throwing them in the wash), I should mention that I wear my other Savage X Fenty looks a ton, and they've held up so nicely!

To Wrap Up:

Can I get these pieces if I sign up today? No! As of publication, this box is sold out. Sign up now to get access to other VIP products! Or shop some of the individual items using the links above.

Value Breakdown: This five-item box cost $49.95 + FREE shipping + $0.41 tax for a total of $50.36. The retail value of the items you can still get on the Savage X Fenty site is $112.50 (not including tax)—that's not counting the ashtray, but even so, I'm saving at least $62.14 buying these items via the box.

I love this sub. I have replaced all of my bras and most of my undies and gotten some super cute lingerie sets that my new husband adores. And I have not spent a fortune! The sales are amazing. The fit is really good for me. 40DD

The link for 2 for $24 bralettes doesn’t work for me. Is it US only? When I add two bralettes to my cart it comes to $100+

Just my opinion. I don’t expect MSA to post pics of them wearing lingerie or undies but I would still like to see how it looks. Couldn’t you post a photo from there website of their models? It would save me time from having to click on the links.

Agreed. At least get a mannequin!

Does anyone sub to this and Adore Me? I’d really like to know which sub has more quality and comfort as my everyday bras and lingerie are wearing thin and it’s difficult to find things in my size (36 DDD) that leave me able to pay for food and rent 🙃
If any thought I’d love to know which is best or if MSA could even do a comparison of subs like this like they do with makeup subs then that would be awesome ☺️

Agreed! The message says they carry larger sizes now: where?! The sizes are supposed to include DDD, G & H, but I have yet to see them…unless they’re plus size. That doesn’t help me as I’m a 32G. Sheesh, can ladies with smaller band sizes get some love, too?

Binge watching VEEP on the couch in a sheer black maribou negligee. I’m dead. 😂😂😂

Same! 😂😂

I’m really surprised they included an ashtray.

Natalie

It’s for the Mary Jane.

Ah, see, I am so far behind the times that I wasn’t thinking about MJ. I must really be getting old, lol!

Julie

Really? Half the pictures of Rihanna show her smoking pot. So an ashtray from her kinda makes perfect sense.
