Summer 2019 Walking Dead Supply Drop Review
Included with this drop was a large information sheet.
Dale's 1973 Chieftain Winnebago
I feel like this is a throwback piece to seasons 1 & 2! Who could forget Dale's trusty RV? This one has obviously plowed through a few walkers as the front is covered in blood and gore, but at least the lawn chairs and umbrellas give it a little air of relaxation, right?
Alpha Belt Buckle Bottle Opener
Even if you hated Alpha (which was easy to do) you have to admit that this bottle opener is pretty cool! It is also highly detailed and very ssss-turdy.
Dixon Bros Moonshine Jar
I had to grin when I opened this jar. I am from Tennessee and Ball jars full of adult liquids for sipping was a standard appearance at many childhood picnics and get-togethers. This is a great Daryl-esque addition that is as fun as it is useful.
Dale's Cocktail Umbrellas
These little umbrellas are the perfect finishing touch to your jar of moonshine. Enjoy it on top of Dale's RV while picking off walkers and you have yourself a fine afternoon!
Carol's Armor Apron
Carol is one of those characters who has evolved so much throughout the series. This apron is inspired by the Carol who had grown into a tough, hard-core woman. Just because Carol is a badass doesn't mean you can't wear this apron while you bake pink cupcakes, right?
The Walking Dead Cookbook and Survival Guide
Finally, our last item is a Walking Dead themed cookbook with tons of survival tips too! Featuring such delicacies as "West Georgia Correctional Facilities Oatmeal," "Dixon's Deer Stew," and "Daryl's Dog Food Sandwich," this book is actually full of totally edible (albeit mostly basic) recipes. I liked the preservation and survival tips dabbled throughout the pages.
Verdict: This quarter's The Walking Dead Supply Drop felt a much improved over last quarter, even without a T-shirt. I am a big fan of the RV model. I tend to like the more slightly obscure items from fandoms. I also thought the cookbook, mason jar, and umbrellas were really fun additions, especially since I love to cook and mix up beverages. The bottle opener was well done and the apron was clever and totally functional, especially for summer cookouts. All in all, I really liked this picnic-themed box and thought the items were very creative.
