Bombay & Cedar "Revel" Review
The box comes with a booklet of information that lists out the products and highlights some of the brands. The theme this month is "Revel."
Enlighten Essential Oil Blend, 10 ml - Listed Value $17.00
Orange Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $10.00
I am always happy to get more orange oil because I use it a lot, especially blended with lavender in my diffuser. Our blend this month is a fusion of spearmint, sage, geranium, and a little bit of nutmeg. It wasn't quite my cup of tea, but mint blends are very hit or miss for me and my nose.
Pomina Earrings - Listed Value $12-19 (depending on style)
Cute! I like these minimal brushed discs and the hollow-style post. They have a lot of movement and make delightful little sounds when I move. I always enjoy when earrings and jewelry have mixed matte and shiny finishes and these certainly fit the bill. They look especially great with my hair up in a high bun.
I like 'em!
Compendium "What is a Friend?" Stationery Set - Retail Value $10.00
These cards are pretty cute! I love that they are perfect to send to your friends and they include aspirations of awesomeness. This set includes 8 cards and 8 envelopes with a minty brushstroke look.
Vivoo Urine Test Strip Kit, 4 strips – Retail Value $24.95
This was the most exciting thing in the box! This kit came with 4 urine test strips and they link up with an app that tells you loads of health info based on a picture taken of your pee strip! Why was I (and everyone at MSA) so excited about this? I have no idea, but I do know that I am not drinking enough water and Marne is somehow drinking too much. Emily was the healthiest of us all, and Sara has a fully functioning liver! Yeah! These strips have 8 different squares that turn different colors and they all indicate different levels inside your body. These strips also tell you if your urine is acidic or alkaline, your current UTI risk, and your overall immunity level. This kit came with 4 which you can use once a week and if you run out, there is a subscription service for more. Full warning, they are incredibly addictive and more fun with friends.
Cupid & Psyche Lipstick in 'Laetitia' - Retail Value $23.00
How cute is this lipstick? I love the packaging. Named after the goddess of the holidays and festivals, this is certainly a festive shade. I like the satin finish and buildable color. One swipe makes you look like you have a natural flush, or build it up for pure drama! Other bonuses? This lipstick is cruelty-free and vegan. What's not to love?
A very pretty coral-red shade with a natural finish.
Airomé Porcelain Essential Oil Diffuser - Retail Value $14.99
This hand-formed diffuser is very pretty. A hand-sculpted gardenia sits on top of a handsome black base that you fill with oils. They are absorbed up to the flower via a cotton wick. The box also contained a bottle of peppermint essential oil to get you started, though I plan on trying out some of that orange oil first.
HYDY Water Bottle with Diffuser - Retail Value $25.00
Infused water is one of life's little luxuries. I love taking a water bottle with berries, mint leaves, or both to work and just sipping that DIY spa water all day. The beauty of fresh fruit or mint in your water is that you can refill the water all day and they just reinfuse it. Yum! This bottle makes it extra easy because it has a removable silicone basket. I also love the marsala color and think it is perfect for fall.
The items below arrived as part of a "Birthday Goodie Bag." I am guessing these vary quite a lot from box to box.
True Clutch Water Bottle Handle - Retail Value $0.99
This handy little thing attaches to most water bottles and allows you to attach them to your bag or belt loop for hands-free on the go hydration. It is comprised of a super-stretchy silicone ring and an aluminum carabiner.
Delia Organics Body Tonic Oil, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $15.99
This little bottle of oil smells lightly of lavender and geranium. A blend of sunflower, olive, and coconut oils, it is a great formula for mega-hydration. I used this on my legs and it left them feeling so soft and though there was a little oily feeling leftover, I just tossed some leggings on top and went about my day. You can also use this on your face and even your hair for some serious frizz-fighting.
Nature's Harvest Turmeric Latte Mix, 2.47 oz - Retail Value $16.95
I can't believe it is almost fall, but that does mean yummy warm lattes. Tumeric has loads of health benefits and is actually really tasty when combined with cinnamon and vanilla like in this blend. I personally like mine with hot vanilla flavored almond milk and cinnamon powder on top!
Eucalyptus Essential Oil, 10 ml
Our last surprise item is another essential oil. I was pretty happy to see it was eucalyptus, which I just love! It blends beautifully with lavender and sweet orange and really has a way of energizing a space. Will loves it because it clears his sinuses, so I use a lot of this oil all year long.
Verdict: This Bombay & Cedar box wasn't my favorite but it still felt like a decent value and it had a fun assortment. I generally don't love "mystery bags" because they often feel like leftover items from older boxes, and I am pretty sure that was the case here. I did still like that mine included an extra oil and that turmeric latte mix. Both will get a ton of use! As for the main box items, I think the Vivoo kit was the most fun this month. All of us in the office has loads of laughs trying it out. I also liked the diffuser bottle and lipstick very much.
