September 2019 Pet Treater Dog Pack Review
This shipment from Pet Treater included 4 items: a gourmet cookie, toy, bag of treats, and a bandana along with some promotional literature.
Look how cute this month’s “Pick of the Litter” is! My kids and I love seeing the pups that get featured on this promotional card! And how cool is it that you can submit a photo, and receive a free item!
The other side of this card has a mission: share photos of your dog enjoying the outdoors with their favorite Pet Treater item! I just might have to submit one!
Patchwork Pet Collection Crocodile Squeaky Toy
The first and biggest item in this month’s box is this 19” bright green plush crocodile. While it is adorable and squeaky, Scout literally tore it into 500 pieces in 3 minutes. I did not capture that on camera because I was too busy chasing stuffing around our yard before it blew away! I’m bummed because when he finds a toy he really likes, he will gently carry it around for months. This was not that toy. The croc would be a great companion for a gentle dog, but it just didn’t work out for us.
Emmy’s Gourmet Canine Creations Mountain Cookie - Estimated Value $1.35
I am really loving the addition of these gourmet cookies! This is the 5th month they have sent one, and my pups love them! Not only do they (apparently) taste great, but they are sooo cute! And the way they match the “camping” theme of the box is really sweet. While Emmy’s website features different shapes of cookies, the mountain range cookie is not for sale. However, I did find these cute ice cream cone shaped cookies that are made of the same ingredients, just shaped differently.
The Pound Bakery Lamb and Apple Trail Chews
Here we have a pouch of lamb and apple trail chews made and packed exclusively for Pet Treater by The Pound Bakery. These are unavailable online, but all ingredients, nutrition analysis, and contact info is listed on the front of the package. My dogs LOVE these chews, and I gotta say, the clip art on the packaging ties the “outdoor” theme together nicely!
Camping Bandana
Here we go again… each month this subscription has been sending a bandana (aka piece of flannel cut into a triangle) and while the print is super cute and my dogs look really handsome wearing them- they really need to have some finished edges! This one wasn’t even cut with pinking shears, which led to it fraying while my dog was wearing it!
Verdict: This month of Pet Treater was alright. My dogs are heavy chewers, and the toy this month seriously only lasted a couple of minutes. The cookies and treats were devoured instantly, but the bandana really leaves more to be desired. I like the way they are working towards a theme, but I’d really like to see more durable toys like they have sent in the past. I know my dogs are already looking forward to next month, so I can’t wait to see what they send!
This month I received 4 items. I couldn’t find any of the exact items online, so just by dividing it out, each item would cost about $3.75. I feel like that’s too much for the bandana and cookie, but I know toys are expensive, so paying $15 for everything is a pretty good deal!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you’ll receive a collection of pet-approved favorites as a welcome pack. After that, your pet will receive the same monthly shipment as other subscribers. Items vary from shipment to shipment, so you’re not guaranteed the same items as seen here. Standard orders generally ship around the 10th of each month. If you’ve added special requests to your order (allergies, no plush, tough toys, etc.), this may add additional processing and packing times due to the extra labor involved.
