Sephora Favorites: The Next Big Thing Review
The back of the box is where you'll find all the info you need on what's inside. This Sephora Favorite has seven products, two of which are full-size! Let's dive in.
Artist Couture Diamond Lights Finisher in Spotlight Glitz, 0.05 oz - Estimated Value $10.42 (Buy a full size for $25.00)
I wasn't sure what a "finisher" was- but learned that it's a multiuse product. This powder from Artist Couture is a bit on the chunkier side than I expected but once it's pressed onto the skin, it softens and becomes much more fine to produce quite a pigmented metallic glow! It can be used as a highlighter, eye shadow, or even on top of lip color for more drama. Since this has quite a bit of punch to it, I'll most likely stick to it as a shadow. "Spotlight Glitz" has a great pinkish gold hue that will surely amp up a look for an evening out. For my look (at the end of this review), I softly brushed it in the crease of my eye and on my eyelids for a glittery effect.
FARSÁLI Liquid Glass Radiance Serum, 0.17 oz. - Estimated Value $9.18 (Buy a full size for $54.00)
Looking at this pearly clear serum, it looks like too much shimmer for me, but once I applied it to my face it was perfect. It gave my skin a light glow without looking too glittery. Reading the instructions, this can be used at almost anytime: before, after, or with other skincare and makeup. It has a slight tackiness that makes for a good primer so I'll probably use this after my moisturizer moving forward. Quite nice for a little added brightening!
Kaja Cheeky Stamp Blendable Blush in 04 Fiesty, 0.17 oz. - Full Size! Retail Value $24.00
How cute is this blush stamp?! I was JUST checking this out in person at Sephora recently and fell in love with the packaging immediately. K-Beauty is super fun for many reasons and this cute stamp is a great example of interesting delivery. The top of the chubby cylindrical container twists off to reveal a sturdy sponge stamp in the shape of a heart. You'll then want to pop open the next layer to reveal the pigmented "ink" pad which you'll press the stamp into. Simply stamp the apples of your cheeks with the heart just once to reveal super cuteness and blend for a soft pink blush!
Melt Cosmetics Lipstick in Old Rose, 0.14 oz. - Full Size! Retail Value $19.00
Another perfect lip color, in my opinion! This creamy full-size stick spreads on well with a little pressure and has the most perfect dusty rose mauve color. It doesn't feel cakey or heavy on my lips and stays put reasonably well. There's some transfer as is per usual with cream lipsticks but nothing too ridiculous. This was my first brush with Melt and I'll be checking them out more often now!
Milk Makeup Cooling Water Mini, 0.21 oz. - Retail Value $14.00
I love a lot of Milk Makeup products and this is one that I've always been curious about. I'm drawn to the light blue stick and the beautiful packaging, but what does it DO? This mini version is even cuter and like it's regular-sized big sister says it delivers a cooling effect to invigorate the skin. It's finally cooling off here in Pittsburgh and this sounds like it'd be best for hotter days. I can attest that it does indeed have a cool feel as soon as it comes in contact with my skin. Minimal tingle, but definitely a clear chill. While I'm not fully on board with how to use this daily, I'll be putting in my bag for when I get overheated (which happens to me often) so I can dab it on my neck.
Natasha Denona Mini Diamond & Glow Cheek Duo, 0.141 oz. - Retail Value $19.00
This is such a cute little mini duo! It includes two powders: one for blush and one for highlighting, but really you can use both for highlighting, I think. Both have a really reflective shimmer that catches the light incredibly and really pumps up my cheeks! I used the lighter powder on my upper cheekbones and below my eyebrows while I dabbed the pink powder and blended it to my existing Kaja cheek tent for extra shimmer. So pretty and really convenient to toss in my purse. Love that it has a little mirror as well.
Violet Voss Eye Glitter Topper in Dream, 0.085 oz. - Estimated Value $9.81 (Buy a full size for $15.00)
Like other liquid eye shadows, this bronze-hued topper from Violet Voss is packed with pigment. After using the Artist Couture finisher and some rose quartz shadow from Aether Beauty, I went in with the doe-foot applicator and dabbed just a small amount to the center of my eyelids. I then used my fingertip to lightly blend it out. It gave my eyes a bolder look with more dense metallic color and immediately turned into a soft powder finish. This is a bit more than I normally wear but is really fun to play with!
Here are swatches for the other products! From top to bottom: Natasha Denona Duo, Violet Voss Topper, Artist Couture Finisher, and FARSÁLI Radiance Serum.
Here's the finished look I created using everything from this collection (mixed with some of my own makeup). This looks a lot heavier to me in person but seems softer in the photos. It's a bit more sparkly than I'm used to but it's growing on me!
The Verdict: Once again, I found this Sephora Favorite to be a fantastic way to try and play with new makeup! Instead of going broke buying full-size products that I may or may not like, this kit is a great way to experiment with some brands I have never tried or a fun product like the blush stamp! While this did have more glitter and shimmer than I'd normally seek out, I had a lot of fun playing around with each product. I also am really warming to minis for this very reason. For someone like me who always wants to check out "The Next Big Thing" the minis offer enough to test before diving into full size and makes me feel less pressured to use so much! This set has two full-size items and many minis that are also available to purchase giving it an estimated value of a whopping $105.41.
