TONYMOLY August 2019 Monthly Bundle Review
This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but just like last month, I received some pretty adorable samples.
Daily Fresh Aloe Sheet Masks - Estimated Value $8
I couldn't find these available for sale online, but according to these Influenster Reviews, Ulta used to carry them and they were about $8, so that is what I am going with. This is a resealable pack of 10 sheet masks, and I love this concept for several reasons- if this really retailed for $8, that is super affordable, and this is also a more sustainable option if you enjoy sheet masks but worry about the waste it creates. I have used three of these so far and haven't had any issue at all with the masks starting to dry out, and they fit my face very well. Usually masks this cheap have a thicker material that is a bit scratchy, but that isn't the case here!
Intense Care Snail Gold 24k Hydrogel Mask - Retail Value $10
I adore hydrogel masks, and the fact that this one comes in two pieces means you can adjust it for a better fit. This is made with 24k gold, fermented snail essence, and ginseng, and my skin soaked it all up. My skin had a healthy glow when I was done wearing it, and I was happy to see this again after first getting it in the July 2019 Allure box.
Dr. Logy Sheet Mask in Sensitive – Retail Value $4.95
This mask is made with chamomile and lavender to calm sensitive skin and add some moisture, and it did just that! I found it soothing to my skin, and I appreciated the 15 minutes of relaxation this gave me. The material is thin and fit closely to the contours of my face, and the sheet mask material was soaked with essence.
I’m Real Sheet Mask in Peach – Estimated Value $3 (Buy 2 for $6)
This is your basic, no-frills sheet mask, but I enjoy reaching for them. They’re pretty saturated with serum and they’re cooling on my skin, which is especially welcome now that we are in the warmer months. When my skin feels like it needs a little extra TLC I like applying a nourishing face oil before layering one of these sheet masks on top to make a hydration sandwich for my skin to eat up. I thought the fruity scent of peach was nice, too.
I’m Real Sheet Mask in Aloe – Estimated Value $3 (Buy 2 for $6)
This is the same basic mask as the peach one, only it’s made with aloe! It’s simple, but my skin likes it. Unlike the peach one, this mask didn't really have a scent.
I’m Charcoal Sheet Mask - Estimated Value $3 (Buy 2 for $6)
Rounding out our collection of I'm Real masks this month is this charcoal version, which has (you guessed it!) charcoal, along with (you probably didn't guess it) mushroom extract. I like these masks, but I would rather wait until there was a big discount and stock up rather than pay full-price for them.
Layering Sheet Mask in Green Tea – Retail Value $5.50
The layering masks from TONYMOLY are officially some of my favorite sheet masks- I have repurchased them from Ulta on sale after trying these out, even though I have no shortage of sheet masks. They are a two-part mask, with the first part being targeted patches you place wherever your skin needs extra love and the second part being a sheet mask you lay on top. In this version, the patches are actually in the shape of green tea leaves, and the top ingredients include green tea water, green tea extract, and niacinamide. The sheet mask you layer on top also has green tea water as the first ingredient, and my skin felt so hydrated and happy once I was done wearing this. If you have any “slice” sheet masks laying around, you can create your own layered sheet masks by layering a sheet mask on top of the slices, too!
Vital Vita 12 Calming Sheet Mask – Estimated Value $4.50
You can only buy this mask in a set with vital vita mini ampoules, so the value is an estimation (if I had to guess it would be around $4.50?). I wish you could purchase these separately though, because I loved it. The sheet mask material is a light lime green color that was fun to wear, and this had the thin material that hugged the contours of my face. The ingredients list on this was pretty stellar, too, and it was cooling on my skin while I wore it.
Master Lab Sheet Mask in Centella Asiatica – Estimated Value $4.50 (Buy 2 for $9)
Since I have sensitive skin, I am always happy to use products that have Centella Asiatica, which is known for being soothing and healing (it is also called tiger grass because injured tigers would roll in it to soothe battle wounds and injuries!). Because of that, though, I was bummed to see this mask had alcohol higher up on the ingredients list than the Centella. This was still soothing to my skin, but I try to avoid products that have alcohol on the ingredients list before the beneficial ones, especially since I would consider this a higher-priced sheet mask.
Tako Pore One Shot Nose Pack - Retail Value $3.50
Fun fact- I purchased one of these during an online sale last year, and the retailer accidentally sent me ten instead. These fun nose strips are shaped just like you see on the packaging- they have a long part that extends along the entire bridge of your nose and up onto your forehead, and the part that hugs the sides of your nose has curves for optimal fit. I don't use pore strips very often, but I am happy with how this one performs.
I’m Charcoal Gel Eye Patch - Estimated Value $3.40 (Buy a pack of five pairs for $17)
I will never say no to more gel eye patches, but I'm not really sure why the skin under my eyes needs to be "purified." This has some fun ingredients like garlic and cinnamon extract, and my under-eyes felt hydrated once I was done wearing these.
The Verdict: The monthly bundles from TONYMOLY are fast becoming one of my favorite boxes to receive, but I would have liked to see better curation. I don't mind receiving an exclusively sheet-mask box, but many of these masks were repeats from previous monthly bundles. There are multiple sheet masks on the TONYMOLY website that have never been included at all, and they are also launching some new, cute product lines (like this cat one!). I'm hoping the September box and beyond will include some of the newer products, but at least with this box you have the benefit of knowing what exactly you will receive before you purchase. Value-wise, TONYMOLY promised a value of $55, and they came up a touch short with a total value of $53.35.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this is still available!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $34.50 ($27 + $7.50 shipping) which means that you are paying about $3.14 per mask.
