Dia and Co August 2019 Box - Box

Dia & Co
2.5 overall rating
75 Ratings | 24 Reviews

Dia & Co is a monthly plus-size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia & Co, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five pieces that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 25% discount is applied if I chose to keep all five pieces too!

The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co may be entirely different than mine!

Dia & Co September 2019 Review

Dia and Co September 2019 Box- 0004

Here is that adorable Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month!

Dia and Co September 2019 Box- 0005

Also enclosed is this thoughtful message from my month’s stylist, Patrice! One of my best friends has that name, so we are already on the right foot!  She thanked me for using the option to select three of the five pieces-- have you done it yet? It is revolutionary! Patrice also gives great styling tips on how to wear each piece I received, especially the ones she selected for me. I am so excited to try everything on!

Dia and Co September 2019 Box- 0006

The other form is an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item she selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. My some of my prices are listed and some aren’t, so this form is a bit inaccurate. The total would be $312. After the $20 styling fee and 25% is applied my balance for the entire box would be $219! The savings would be $93 if I did decide to keep everything! That isn’t too shabby! That would be like getting the Lucilla Classic Button Down and the Malia Glitter earrings for free. What a deal!

Golden Gate A-Line Skirt by Leota, Size 2x — Retail Value $65

I have tried various Leota pieces through Dia & Co and other subscription boxes I review for MSA. I love that their clothes tend to have stretch and accentuate women's curves well. This skirt is no exception in that it fits like a dream. Sometimes, skater-style skirts can intimidate me due to the fear of my behind being exposed, especially at the office. I actually went to my office job in this entire ensemble. The skirt is an ideal length: short enough to be flirty, but long enough to keep me covered. This skirt would look great with a button-down blouse or a T-shirt and flats for a Sunday Funday. I opted to do some pattern clashing with a sleeveless, striped mock turtleneck and my favorite jellies since it is still rather warm outside where I live. This will also translate into fall with black tights and booties!

Valley Button Down Tunic by Dex Plus, Size 2x — Retail Value $69

Black and white stripes are so classic and versatile. This is another fantastic piece my stylist, Patrice, selected for me this month! The material is a gauze-like cotton, so it is lightweight and can be worn in the summer or winter. In the warmer weather months, you can easily wear this button down with a pencil skirt, for a stylish yet comfortable outfit. In cooler months, layer it underneath a sweater with jeans and boots. You will get your money's worth with a staple piece like this one!

Leotta Moto Jacket by Kensie, Size 2x — Retail Value $69

I selected the final three pieces in this month's styling box. I am sure that is pretty evident since this piece is a leopard print biker jacket. What a shock, I know, right? This was a must-have item! I assumed the jacket was made of a denim material, but the fabric is more lightweight-- sort of like a lighter canvas material. This jacket is perfect for in between seasons weather. If you guys weren't aware, leopard print is a neutral and pairs wonderfully with an array of colors and patterns. I love how it looks with the striped Dex Plus blouse that Patrice sent me; it is a true pattern clash of the titans! I finished the outfit with the Rawan jeans I reviewed from my November 2018 Dia & Co box and some killer off-white western boots! This look is perfect for the office and for cocktails after as well!

Newburry Flutter Sleeve Wrap Dress, Size 20 — Retail Value $79

It is a tough call, but this dress may be my favorite of the items in this month's Dia box! I almost didn't select it since it is one of my least liked colors, purple. However, I am glad I gave it a chance because I am obsessed! I am so in love with this dress I might wear it to an upcoming wedding next month! The wrap style is incredibly flattering, especially due to the stretchy fabric. I absolutely love the retro flutter sleeves as well. I must say snakeskin print is becoming one of my favorite animal prints. I wore my western-style boots with this dress, but I can imagine this dress looking fantastic in cooler months with fishnets, open-toed platform wedge heels, and a faux fur coat. This is the perfect dress for a date with your honey or with your friends at the club on the weekend!

Malia Glitter Paper Hoop Earrings — Retail Value $30

I love a good hoop earring, and these glitzy silver ones immediately grabbed my attention! The silver glitter material is glamorous, but not too over the top for daily wears. These earrings are very light and easy to wear. They looked great with every outfit I styled them with from this box. These earrings are certainly becoming my go-to favorites due to how they add the perfect finishing touch to every ensemble!

Verdict: I love, love, LOVE Dia & Co! This month's box was a homerun! I said it before and I will say it again: Dia & Co opting to allow their subscribers to select three items for their styling box is an absolute game changer. I have very particular tastes and love to shop, so this option appeals greatly to me. To readers that have had poor experiences with Dia in the past, I truly feel you should give them another chance! This option ensures you get items you’re curious about, but also allows your stylist to pick a few pieces for you, too. I also highly recommend providing feedback for each box you receive as well as creating a Pinterest board. Don't be afraid to give positive AND negative feedback too because this allows your stylist to understand your preferences better. Honestly, I have loved Dia & Co since  I started reviewing their service in 2017, but my love for them has grown even more with these changes! I can't wait to see what I get in October!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Dia & Co curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you! Also take advantage of their option for you to pin pieces and select up to three items for your monthly box as well!

Value Breakdown: This box has a $20 styling fee and includes free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $312. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 styling fee for the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $219 for the whole box. Ultimately, that is nearly a 29% discount.

What an AWESOME box! I love, love love that jacket. The dress looks great on you! Definitely
keep taking a lot of pictures. I want to SEE how clothes look on. I don’t need to see a lot of pictures of a bar of soap or bottle of perfume, but clothes- yes, especially the way you style them.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, Katie! Yeah, I try to give a feel for all the details. Lots of sites don’t seem to show fabric close up and sometimes don’t show the coloring properly even.

Bethany

I agree completely on the photos! So nice to see how things fit, hang, flatter, etc. Although items may vary, it helps provide details on a certain brand. Great review, so glad you kept everything!!!

tpop

It would be easier to read your reviews if there were fewer than 6-7 photos per item. Especially as subscribers probably receive completely items, we don’t need to see all the details.

April jk

The pics are the best part!!!

Nicole Rieder

Awe thank you, April Jk!

Jennyjenny

I always look forward to Nicole’s reviews especially because of the photos. I like that there are different angles showing, showing the item up close, special details etc.

I do think some reviews with MANY photos can be quite dull when the photo is of a non-wearable item, or a pamphlet, but I think wearable items are different.

Nicole does an especially nice job styling her items and I love seeing the head to toe looks she creates. Many times when I see the photo of just the item I have no idea how she’s going to pull it off, and then she does!

Nicole Rieder

Awe Jenny! Thank you! Yeah, I love being able to bring clothes to live in that respect! Show different ways to wear them and such. I am glad you enjoy the pics and the reviews!

Nicole Rieder

Tpop, sorry you don’t like the amount of pics. I usually post 4 to 6 generally of each item, less if it is styled with other items in the box. It depends on the item because I try to show it from different angles, fabric, and details on each piece. Always can swipe past the pics if you like. I appreciate the feedback!

Traci Rhein

All the photos she takes are my favorite part of her reviews. Clothing needs to be seen from all angles and she takes great pics. I usually just scroll through for the pics.

Nicole Rieder

Awe thank you, Traci!

Nicole Rieder

Awe Traci, I am glad you enjoy the pics! I definitely put effort into taking them and editing them.

Cara

I love everything except the striped shirt. It’s a little too flimsy looking for the price but with the discount it makes sense to keep it. I agree that the pink snake dress is amazing!

Nicole Rieder

Thanks, Cara. Yeah, the snakeprint was certainly a must!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Oh, I did! I kept the entire box actually. Thank you, Rachael!

Rachael

You need to keep that fuschia snake skin dress. Your expression changed in this outfit. You can see the joy. Keep the dress!
