Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)
My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

Stitch Fix for Women October 2019 Review
As you can see, the included invoices provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $226.00, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $149.50. That’s a savings of $76.50 on these items.
This is my style sheet that includes a note from my stylist and features the five items I received along with different outfit suggestions and accessories that might pair well with them. This month I asked for something a little different. We are planning to have a talented photographer friend of ours take photos of our family this month and I wanted some nice fall colors. I decided to embrace the mustard yellow and asked for some options that might work for our photos in this color. My stylist, Kacey, is awesome and delivered a variety of styles for me to try!
Arnold Raglan Knit Top by Mix by 41 Hawthorn, Size M - Cost to Keep $38.00
First, we have our casual option which is a very deep mustard yellow, almost orange in color. I love this top - it is very much my style, super comfortable, has my beloved stripes and I think it's pretty flattering in general. I almost kept this one, but I do have a similar top (while not as nice, it is white and yellow stripes with 3/4 length sleeves) and this is not quite what I was looking for as far as our photoshoot.
Larie Crew Neck Blouse by Papermoon, Size M - Cost to Keep $44.00
I did have florals in mind when I originally envisioned yellow, and the pattern of this top is so pretty! I love the zipper on the back and how lightweight and comfortable this top is, but the cut and fit are just not my style, nor did I find them flattering for my body. I know I am in need of some nicer new jeans, but these are the highest-waisted jeans I have and I still felt like the top was too short on me in the front or maybe I just didn't like where it cut off at my waist. I love the long rounded back, I just wish it was also that long in the front. I also wasn't a fan of where the sleeves ended on me. They just looked sort of awkward since they weren't full length and flared out a bit.
Lemmy V-Neck Top by Brina & Em, Size M - Cost to Keep $38.00
This floral top was pretty and the fabric was soft and light again, although not as dressy as the previous top. I wasn't as crazy about the pattern on this one and I felt like the neckline was a bit high. This top could be worn with full-length sleeves or rolled up and held up with a button. This one was fine, but not anything I was really excited about. I think it's something about the combination of red and yellow that I don't enjoy.
Donia Textured Blouse by Daniel Rainn, Size M - Cost to Keep $68.00
This top is so not me at all, but I really liked it! It felt romantic and pretty and just dressy enough, but I am clueless when it comes to how to style this one! I tried it tucked in and hanging long and I'm just not fashion-savvy enough to figure out what works. I think I could easily figure out some jewelry to work with it, but I don't know about pants and shoes. This was almost a golden yellow and I love the billowy softness of the fabric. If I could figure out how to style it, this might be a contender!
Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan by Mix by 41 Hawthorne, Size M - Cost to Keep $38.00
I don't think I would really count this as mustard yellow in color since it has a lot more brown and orange to it, but I really love this cardigan. It is thinner in weight and the front has a nice shape to it than angles down which allows it to drape perfectly. I tried it first paired with a floral patterned top that I was wearing and it looked okay, but I actually really liked it best just paired with a simple black T-shirt. This color is pretty unique and a bit bold, so it works well with neutral colors and is just enough of a pop of color for me. It will be so cute paired with a long necklace. This is one of those staple pieces that I couldn't pass up even though it isn't what I was looking for this month! It feels so very fall to me and I love the cozy feeling.
The Verdict: This was the first time I've really taken advantage of the Stitch Fix service to try to find something for a specific purpose and I was happy that my stylist was so willing to comply and sent me a variety of pieces to try in hopes of meeting my needs. I realize now that I should have been more specific as far as what level of dressiness I was looking for, but since my stylist is awesome she took care of that by sending such a wide range of styles. I think the quality of the items was great and they were budget-friendly which is always something that excites me! This was a great way to shop for something for our photoshoot and I love that I never had to leave my house - especially with free returns! Usually, I end up buying items online and then I have to drive to the store to return a bunch of items that didn't work out, but this was much more convenient and well worth the $20 styling fee!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This Fix cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $226.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $149.50. That’s a discount of around 34% for these items.
