November 2019 No Make No Life Box "Kawaii Makeover" Review

The booklet list gives you detailed information on each item, as well as instructions on how to use certain products. This month's theme is 'Kawaii Makeover.'

Kirby Lip Cream - Retail Value $6.57

Awww I love this lip balm! It is so cute. It is also a pretty nice formula with a sweet scent and buttery smooth finish. It does add just the faintest amount of pink to my lips, but it is barely noticeable. This is going to be a balm that I keep close by in my purse.

Sho-Bi Lollipop Lipgloss - Retail Value $5.53

This little lollipop isn't the most practical in terms of on-the-go usage since that bow has to be removed each time you open it. But I did really like the peachy cream shade. I could see myself using this on my cheeks before my lips though, as it kind of made my lips look chalky, while on my cheeks it was a natural flushed look.

A pastel peach!

Anime Girl Bath Bomb - Retail Value $2.39

This mini bath bomb has a citrus scent and turned my water bright yellow! As all good bath bombs should, it had a surprise hidden inside: an adjustable pink plastic heart ring!

Fate Grand Order x Sanrio Nail Stamping Plate - Retail Value $7.41

I was really excited to see this plate kit and I was all set to demo it for this review, but sadly, the design is flawed. The design imprints don't capture any nail polish after I scrape away the excess. Basically, you paint your chosen design with polish, use the included scraper to wipe away the excess, then use the silicone tipped stamper to apply it to your nails. Sadly, after 5 tries, I couldn't get any polish (no matter how dark) to remain behind in the design so I was unable to use this kit. Bummer!

Kawaii Character Makeup Pouch

There were a few different designs for this item and I felt lucky to get Hello Kitty herself! This little pouch is far too small for my makeup collection, but it is perfect to stash my charcoal pieces for my sketching meetups. The structured cube shape protects them more than a normal pouch would.

Nam Chi Ni Message Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3.19

Oh, I knew this would be a fun mask to apply! The type is prince charming AKA "National Treasure- Class Beauty" and I am HERE for this goofy design. It doesn't have much of a scent, but I did find it softening and moisturizing. I also enjoyed wearing this around the office and scaring/delighting coworkers. Also, kind of low-key insulted these fake mask browns look better than my real ones.

I have no idea what this mask says (anyone?) but I am down for anything that puts a jeweled tiara on my head.

Mediheal BTS BT21 Face Point Mask Set - Retail Value $3.01

We received a second mask this month but this one was the sticker type. I thought this little donkey/horse guy was precious with his heart-shaped nose.

Here we are both enjoying our headphones.

Korean Manga Hand Cream - Retail Value $5.19

I literally squealed with delight at the sight of this incredibly weird hand cream. Yes, that is a VAMPIRE licking the blood from his hands on the tube. For good measure, he also has barbed wire wrapped around his arm. #Iconic. I am so into this weirdness. This design is from a Korean manga called Vampire Library and this fellow's name is Carvel. He owns a freaking library and we are in love. This cream actually has a really normal and soft peach scent, who knew? I can't wait to casually pass this to an unsuspecting relative over Thanksgiving.

Verdict: No Make No Life Box was pretty much delightful this month aside from the low value ($33.29 without the pouch) and the total fail with the nail plate. This subscription rarely surpasses the subscription cost by much, which has always bothered me but it is what it is, just be aware. This was one of the most delightfully odd assortments I have ever gotten from this box. I am obsessed with my vampire hand cream (if only for shock value when used in public) and the sheet masks and makeup items were really cute and enjoyable from this box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will most likely get the December box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $35.00 + free shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $4.38.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Other than the retail value, the box this month did seem pretty delightful with some cute and fun products. I’d honestly love to get a hand cream with a design like that lol

I got two boxes total and both made me feel like I was getting a bunch of low quality Dollar Store junk. Still don’t see the value and any really decent quality items. I just think for what is out there, my money can be spent on quality boxes.
However, you are totally adorable in face masks and thanks for the review and pics.

Most polishes don’t work with stamping plates. You need polish made for stamping, they’re not anymore expensive than regular polish but they work well with the plates. Sometimes you get lucky and a regular polish will work. I have a discontinued Revlon polish that works great but none of my other regular polishes pick up the designs at all.

Miss Pippa

I love this box! It brightens my month every time. The vampire hand lotion alone was worth it.

I want to like this box so much, but it seems like they always send the absolute cheapest stuff they can find.

My friend told me that these items can be picked up (same as our Dollar stores ) in Japan for a dollar.
