I’ve been a Beauty Box subscriber for a couple of years. It was my monthly self-care treat to myself. But I just called Amazon to cancel my subscription. There’s only been one product I would have ever spent full retail on purchasing again. I gave away about half of the make-up products because the colors were wrong for my skin tone and complexion. This year several products were terrible quality that went straight in the trash after one try. It’s turned into a guilty amount of waste and a drawerful of products that don’t live up to the price point or hype. I would re-subscribe if there were different types of boxes, such as ‘Skin Over 40’ or ‘Fair to Medium Skin Tone’. Otherwise, it’s not worth the money and disappointment.

I got a random box in the mail today. I thought the December box shipped super early but looking at the booklet I think it may have been the February 2019 box. Has anyone ever gotten a perk like this before? I subbed for over a year. Canceled February and resubbed in the summer. Is this a loyalty bonus or a fluke? Definitely happy to get any freebies. I’m excited to try the wander mascara.

I saw the moonchild palette at TJ Maxx for 14.99! So for the price of the pallette at s discount store, you get the box! Hate the lip colors this month. I sub through amazon for a second box for a friend who is going through a hard time. It’s a 15$ hug from me in the mail at a time when the mail does not bring good news. I will always sub to allure. I’ve genuinely enjoyed it, not a huge expense and always a good deal.

If you subscribe through AMAZON, you need to know:

AMAZON does not cover this box under any sort of money back or their A-Z Guarantee if the box was charged but does not arrive.

I ordered a November box, did not receive it, Amazon says my only recourse is ” To contact the seller”. Um yeah, that’s why I ordered through Amazon, for the ease of getting my product vs. from Conde- Nast.

Amazon has apparently had too many complaints to cover anything about the shipment or delivery of the boxes.

This is my warning based on my rather surprising outcome. Needless to say, I don’t need the $16 but did cancel the box.

It’s time to just let this one float away.

Is it always half off through amazon for your first box? I don’t care for the Dec box so could I wait until there is a box I like to get it for half off?

No. Half off is only a holiday deal. Usually it’s $5 off your 1st box through Amazon or Allure directly making it $10. There is no taxes through Amazon

I went ahead and got it. The more I looked at swatches, the more I liked the Trust Issues lippie! Although I’m happy either way; these are finally my shades😍 The highlighter is different than anything I have, so that will be fun too.

The only thing I don’t care for is FAB, and hopefully it’s not the primer. I can use the moisturizer as hand or body cream at least.

Still, a good deal!

I literally just sent an email to cancel my subscription. How long should I wait to order it through Amazon? I would much rather pay $7.50 for this box.

I’m incredibly disappointed with the December boxas I was counting on it to gift myself a little sumptin. That lip color alone makes me run screaming from the bedroom…and there is no way I would ever try it, which is something I very seldom ever utter.

I don’t know, I have been let down lately by ALLURE, were I once would get multiple boxes each month, now I am barely getting 1 every 3 months or so. I just got the November box and it’s grim…but December looks far worse.

I was so looking forward to treating myself this holiday season…

I’m not a bold lip color girl either, plus I have olive/yellow based skin so cool tones are not good. I ordered a light yellow lipstick online (this sounds crazy but stick with me) and it helps warm up the color and make it much lighter. It was less than $6 shipped, a lipbrush was $2 and now I can use all the crazy lipstick they send. Could you do a similar thing? Now I just mix up a bit of the crazy color with a bit of the yellow and have kind of a coral-nude. You can find pale blue (if you have cool toned skin), white (if you need it lighter), etc. Just a passing thought. 💙

Can you tell us exactly what lipstick you are talking about? I have just started with sub boxes and I have gotten 3 dark blood red/black-ish liquid lip sticks (looks like I will get another in Dec. Allure–like I just got in today in Allure) and two fire engine red lipsticks. No other colors… I can’t wear any of them and I would love to try to make them work.

That is a brilliant idea! I mean, it makes sense, as there are such color/shade altering products for foundation shades, but honestly it’s such an obvious solution that it kind of seems profound.

Tempted to get this from Amazon for only $7.50 because I like the highlighter, but I really want the lip in Bohemian, but it looks like Amazon has the plummier one, Trust Issues. Although that one is beautiful too…ugh, decisions.

On the website it says you have to cancel the month before. You’ll get charged for December if you canceled on December 1st & won’t get the January 2020 box.

Each box will include these three – Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Bohemian or Trust Issues, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. And these two may be included in your box – First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothing Primer and Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray – or you may receive something else for your final two products. I better not get the Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray. I don’t like it and just gave 4 of them from other subscription boxes away to family on Thanksgiving last week. They won’t go away!!

FYI Amazon has their variant posted already and variant they are sending is FAB ultra face moisturizer, Christophe Robin cleansing purifying sea salt scrub and what looks like wine colored ABH not red so Trust Issues? They only have a picture so the color is guess.

My fingers r crossed for fab ultra repair moisturizer or fab coconut smoothie primer (I have used both and love both of them, I am a big fan of this line already) and quai hair spray. Anything but that darn briogeo that I have got 100 times would be ok though lol.
