NewBeauty TestTube is a bi-monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Every other month they send you a tube full of deluxe and full-size beauty samples and you also get a digital subscription to NewBeauty Magazine. It’s a little pricier than other beauty subscriptions, but in general, the value is usually great.
This review is for the NewBeauty TestTube, a one-time purchase that is still available!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Our NewBeauty Limited Edition Gold TestTube Review
NewBeauty TestTube is one of my favorite subs because they send really unique and new items, many of which I have never even heard of! This booklet is a great reference for each item we received this month. It is full of additional info, interesting facts, and editor commentary.
Now, on to the items!
StriVectin SD Advanced PLUS Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate, 2 oz - Retail Value $79.00
This is some heavy-duty cream, but this time of year my skin craves all the help it can get. In addition to being an anti-wrinkle cream, it also is said to help fade stretch marks over the course of a few week's use. I have never been too concerned with my stretch marks so I plan on focusing more on my face with this formula. It is SO hydrating and feels amazing on my skin. It didn't have a fragrance to speak of really and seemed to absorb really well for such a thick cream. I hope to see more significant benefits over a few weeks, but for now, I am happy with my soft and over-the-top-hydrated skin.
Doctor Rogers RESTORE Healing Balm, 4 oz - Retail Value $66.00
This balm is also really heavy, but as soon as I tested a bit on my hands I knew this would be something I would love on my legs. The formula left a sheen and film on my hands that I didn't love, but on my dry calves? Delightful. Here is what I did: I slathered my legs in the balm and mostly massaged it into my skin, leaving a little extra on the surface of my legs. I then crawled into my favorite (and admittedly ugly) comfy sweat pants and went to bed. My legs were positively glowing in the morning and even my psoriasis spots looked a little less red and angry. I plan on using this throughout the winter as a sort of leg sleep mask. There is no fragrance here aside from the slightly natural smell that comes from the super limited ingredient list: castor seed oil, glycerine, and hydrogenated castor oil.
Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Satin Lip Cream in 'Cabernet', 0.11 oz - Retail Value $24.00
As much as I tend to dislike Juice Beauty skincare items, I usually like their makeup options. This lipstick was no exception; I really loved it! The gunmetal bullet feels heavy and luxe, and the lipstick inside is that rare mix of pigment and sheerness that really works! The shade I received is 'Cabernet,' a deep berry that is as sweet as it is dramatic. The finish is a nice satin sheen and it looks really natural on my lips. This formula is also wonderfully smoothing and hydrating due to the jojoba oil and shea ingredients.
Oh, I like you, Cabernet!
Foreo Luna Play Plus, 1 device - Retail Value $49.00
I have gotten a mini version of this as a gift before and I really like it for gentle but effective exfoliation on my face. It is also perfect for those days where I have been wearing more makeup than usual and I want to feel a super deep clean at the end of the day. I like to pair it with a favorite cleanser and then scrub my face for at least a minute. When I first tried one of these, I didn't think the vibrations felt all that strong and didn't expect to notice a difference. I was totally wrong and it only took 2 days of using this thing for me to be a convert.
Mimi Luzon 24K Pure Gold Hyaluronic Super Serum 2 ml Sample + $100 Gift Card - Listed Sample Value $20.00 (Buy a full-size bottle for $299.00)
I know this stuff is wildly expensive, but I have to admit that I really didn't love it. For a serum, it felt so heavy and left my face feeling like I had a sticky film. This did improve a lot when I applied a cream over it, but not enough for me to really like this product. I realize this has gold flakes in it (which are said to add moisture to skin), but the rest of the ingredients (hyaluronic acid, argan, coconut, avocado, etc) leave me wondering what makes it all that different than so many more affordable formulations out there (if you take the gold out of, course!). If you do end up falling in love with this serum, the box also contained a $100 gift card.
amika Nice Cream Cleansing Conditioner, 8.45 oz - Retail Value $22.00
If you read any of my reviews, you might know that amika is Will's favorite hair care brand, which kind of still blows my mind as the whole over-the-top fun vibe from this line is terribly off-brand for him. The heart wants what it wants! I don't mind his obsession, because I like amika too. I was happy to bring this cleansing conditioner home for a test drive. I didn't realize this was a shampoo+conditioner hybrid and ended up using it just on my ends like I would any conditioner. Oops! My mistake was actually rewarded because I feel like this might have been a little too moisturizing on my roots since I usually like them squeaky clean. Just as a conditioner on my ends though, I legit loved it. It was light but effective, and seemed to cut my air-dry time significantly down. My strands feel silky but not waxy, and there was a definite sheen to my hair the next day. Will's rundown was "It was great, buy more" which is actually a ringing endorsement from a man of few words.
Grande Cosmetics GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum, 4 ml - Retail Value $120.00
FYI: Pricing on this was a little confusing because the packaging has a sticker that states "$99/$120 Value." I decided to list the retail at $120 because that is what it is sold for on the brand website.
This was a really pricy addition to our assortment this month, but I was unable to try it out because I have sensitive eyes and there have been some side effects with lash serums that give me great pause. My eyes are prone to dryness and irritation, so I err on the side of caution with any eye product. If you already know and love this product, you are going to be thrilled that this one item covers the entire cost of this limited edition box!
KNESKO Skin Nanogold Repair Natural Collagen Face Mask, 1-time use mask - Retail Value $45.00
Finally, our last item is a two-piece gold gel mask. This is possibly the thickest mask I have ever worn! It was so weighty that the bottom portion kept sliding down my face slowly, so I made the massive sacrifice of laying back and napping while I wore it. * wink wink *
This mask was super hydrating and really, really cooling. It had a lot of moisture on the gel material, though none dripped off my face or into my eyes, which is always a plus. My skin looked brighter after using this and felt incredible, especially when I immediately followed this mask with the StriVectin cream, also from this tube.
Verdict: NewBeauty TestTube is one of my favorite bi-monthly beauty subscriptions and I thought this limited edition tube was really well done. True, there were some items in this box that I wasn't crazy about, but the ones I did love greatly outweigh the cost of the box. My faves were the StriVectin cream, Dr. Rogers balm, and Juice Beauty lipstick. I was also really into the Foreo, amika conditioner (I have already ordered more), and the KNESKO mask. If you love the GrandeLash formula, you are even better off as it by itself covers the entire cost of the box. Altogether, this box has a retail value of $405 without the Mimi Luzon sample and gift card. I couldn't calculate the specific value of the foil sample because I am unaware of the size of the full-size bottle, and I generally don't include gift cards in my verdict unless they cover the cost of the entire item. This is a good value for a $99 box.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes! This box is still available!
Value Breakdown: At $99.00 for this box, each of the 8 items in this box has an average cost of $12.38.
