Sephora Favorites: Beauty Unmasked Kit Review
The back of the box had the ingredients listed for the products included.
Dr. Jart+ Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution – Retail Value $6
I love Dr. Jart+, but I hate how so many of their sheet masks contain alcohol. This mask is no exception, and while I still found it to be hydrating I wouldn’t repurchase it knowing I can find alcohol-free sheet masks for less than half the cost.
fresh Rose Face Mask, 0.5 oz - Estimated Value $12.50 (Buy the 1 oz version for $25)
If I could only mask with one skincare brand, it would most likely be fresh. I am a big fan of the products as a whole, and this rose mask (featuring real rose petals!) is the perfect blend of soothing hydration. Sometimes I want to mask even when I don’t have a specific skincare concern to target, and more often than not I’ll reach for this one.
GLAMGLOW® GRAVITYMUD™ Firming Treatment, 0.5 oz - Retail Value $25 (the version I linked to is sold in a jar rather than a tube, but the amount of product is the same).
I am pretty anti- peel-off masks, but the gravity mud from GLAMGLOW is one I will use on occasion (I have it both the black glitter and pink glitter version). I always make sure to apply a decent layer, and it peels off in one piece (or at least, multiple large pieces) without hurting my skin. This has a fun silver color, but it also is made with denatured alcohol which can be irritating to my skin (which is why this is only a once-in-a-while mask for me). I don't really think this makes my skin firmer, but it does a decent job at balancing the oily parts of my face thanks to the witch hazel and montmorillonite clay.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, 0.3 oz - Estimated Value $6.60 (Buy the 1 oz version for $22)
I really like this sleeping mask, though it’s more of a summer product for me than winter. This has a gentle blend of chemical exfoliants from fruit acids and alpha hydroxy acids, and you apply it as the last step in your evening skincare routine. This really does give me more of a glow when I wake up after using this, and I enjoy the watermelon scent.
Kiehl's Since 1851 Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask, 0.5 oz - Estimated Value $6.17 (Buy the 3.4 oz version for $42)
Kiehl’s is another brand I really like, but this mask was a bit of a miss for me. Turmeric is a great skincare ingredient with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, but I didn’t love the actual bits of cranberry seed in this mask. The mask was a bit difficult and messy to rinse off, and I still found cranberry seeds when I followed up with a cotton pad and some toner.
Lancôme Rose Sorbet Cryo-Mask, 0.17 oz - Estimated Value $3.90 (Buy the 1.7 oz version for $39)
I love rose in basically any skincare product, and I also love masks that are cooling- so basically, this mask started out already ahead. This is a quick mask (you only wear it for five minutes), and it has salicylic acid to smooth and refine pores while rose soothes the skin. The cooling sensation comes from menthol, and while I usually look for more hydrating masks, this was still a fun one to experience.
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mask - Retail Value $12
This sheet mask came in BoxyCharm a while ago, and I did my best to swap for as many backups as I could. I love Tatcha, and this is a sheet mask I enjoy reaching for when I have a special occasion that I want to feel pretty for. The second ingredient on this mask is Tatcha's signature Hadasei-3, which is a blend of green tea, fermented rice, and seaweed. This also has ingredients like camellia seed oil, thyme, ginseng, and royal jelly. After twenty minutes of wearing this mask, my skin is indeed dewy, but it is also hydrated and has a touch more of a glow. Considering this mask alone is worth half the cost of the entire box, I am extra happy to see it in this kit.
The Verdict: I absolutely love masking, so a curated box of masks from Sephora was right up my alley. This set has a good mix of masks I have tried and loved (Tatcha, fresh) and masks that were brand new to me (Kiehl's, Lancôme), and overall I think this would be a great Christmas gift for anyone who loves skincare or even just needs a reminder to put some self-care time in their day. This kit has a promised value of $60, and by my math, they exceeded that promise with a total value of $72.17
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you order today? No, this kit is no longer available for purchase.

- fresh: $5.18
- GLAMGLOW: $10.37
- Glow Recipe: $2.74
- Kiehl's: $2.56
