Style Plan by Frank And Oak Review - December 2019
I received this page of info with my shipment that lets me know that I can find details about my clothing in my account. They also want me to know that they are a Certified B Corporation. Learn more about that here.
Frank & Oak Nylon Beanie in Grey Mix - Retail Value $29.50, Member Price $25.50
I had submitted a preference for a winter hat to my stylist before they built my last Style Plan box and this was one that they offered up. While I love the grey color, seeing that wide cuff made me a little nervous. I don't know why I am so picky with beanies like this but it's hard to find the perfect fit for me! I tried to make the cuff a little smaller, but that just made the top of the hat a little longer, of course, which I thought looked silly on my head. I do have a ridiculously small head so sometimes knit caps that are really thick can be a tough sell on me and I just don't fill them out properly. The hat's made of 50% viscose, 30% nylon, 20% polyester and is really quite soft. This sucker is really warm though and I can see it being great on someone in the freezing snow!
Frank & Oak Good Cotton Mockneck in Dark Gray Heather, size medium - Retail Value $69.50, Member Price $64.50
Sadly, I don't find this top to be very flattering on me. I normally love boxy cuts and mock turtlenecks are creeping back into my wardrobe, but perhaps the weight of this one is what makes it not quite right for me. It's kind of a long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt hybrid and is made with 85% organic cotton and 15% polyester. It's not soft and cozy on the inside like their other sweatshirts but it is made with a material that is thick without being too heavy (if that makes any sense). I found the neck to be a little tighter than I'd like so it wasn't super comfortable for me in that area. Overall, something about this shirt made me feel a little frumpy. Perhaps I just need a smaller size?
Frank & Oak Good Cotton Knitted Jumpsuit in Black, size medium - Retail Value $119.00, Member Price $107.50
Frank & Oak Long-Sleeved Modal-Blend Ribbed Tee in Doeskin, size medium - Retail Value $39.50, Member Price $37.50
I am so happy that both of these worked so well together! I think this outfit is perfection and it uses two of the items from the box. First, the jumpsuit is just incredibly comfortable to wear and made of really soft cotton! The cut in front and back are both cute in their own ways and it looks so good with a shirt underneath! Come summer, I may be tempted to wear it without one underneath though. The jumpsuit also has pockets and comes with a simple belt to cinch and make it work a little better with my curves. I love the slightly cropped wide legs and the zipper in the back makes it easy to get on and off without a struggle or help from another person.
The long sleeve shirt is UNGODLY soft. Like, it almost has a feel like microsuede (70% Tencel Modal, 25% Polyester, 5% Elastane) but it's really thin and ribbed. I was worried it'd be too tight, but it's perfect to wear under this jumpsuit. I simply cannot stop touching the material of this finely ribbed shirt and making everyone touch it when I'm wearing it, to their delight. I just adore this outfit and I know it's going to become a staple of my fall/winter wardrobe!
Verdict: Style Plan by Frank And Oak sent me two absolute winners and two items that just didn't fit me quite right. I was actually surprised because I didn't think I'd love the ribbed top as much as I do and thought the opposite about the grey one. I am super happy with the items I intend to keep and feel better about supporting a brand that cares about making ethical and environmentally friendly clothing.
