Daebak Box Fall 2019 Review

My first Daebak Box arrived and included a full magazine-style booklet that covers all of the items included this season as well as short articles about K-Pop, Kakao Friends, and a giveaway announcement.

Etude House Glow on Mist, 3.14 oz. - Retail Value $19.90

I am super into this facial mist! It reminds me a lot of Glow Recipe's Watermelon Mist due to the product as well as the packaging. I find this to be really refreshing to spray onto my face and have used it before and after makeup. The lightbulb-shaped bottle is incredibly cute and the soft pink color makes it look even better on my bathroom shelf.

MeloMELI Magic Spell Blusher, 6.5 g - Retail Value $15.26

How cute is this blush compact?! Even the box for it is cute! This heart-shaped blusher has three colors of powder that you can use separately, or combine to make a nice peach glow on your cheeks. There is a hint of sparkle in there but not enough to really read as glittery, which is preferred by me. I think this is super cute and looks great on my pale skin tone.

Esther Bunny Drawstring Eco Bag

I've never seen a tote bag quite like this one. It has the basic square cut you'd expect with solid shoulder straps, but it also has a drawstring that you can use to cinch it! In addition, it has a magnetic closure inside to keep things from falling out. I've been using this bag to cart around products to and from the office and my house and have found it to be very roomy. It also fits vinyl LPs so I can take it to the record store with me as well. The design on the front cracks me up since it's a pink bunny on a cell phone named "Esther Bunny". I'm not sure if that's a play on "easter bunny" or what, but I'm eating it up and love her fluffy ears and pink bow!

Esther Bunny Tin Memo Case

For some reason, in my head, I keep telling myself that there are coasters in this square pink tin, but there aren't! It's simply a really cute way to store the square note set inside. On the front of the tin, Esther Bunny, who appears on the tote bag, is back again with a cold to-go cup, lounging on her side. The stationery inside can be used for quick notes and reminders and come as separate loose-leaf pages. On each sheet, Esther is in the bottom left corner checking her wristwatch as if to signal that someone is late for an appointment with her. Poor gal! These are super cute and I'll be keeping them in my desk drawer at work.

Little Friends Tumbler with Straw

Daebak Box included a reusable cold drink cup which is such a good idea since I'm doing my best to cut down on single-use items, even if they're paper. This will probably be used by me more in the summertime when I am drinking iced coffee but that's not to say I don't do that in the cold months as well. There were several variations of the cup I could receive but mine has a light blue lid and a Kakao Friends' bear, Ryan, that is a tan color and sits atop the lid, next to the straw. It holds 16 ounces of liquid and is easy to clean.

Wiggle Wiggle Pizza Cable Protector

Have I ever mentioned how much I love pizza? It's true! This little rubbery slice has green peppers, pepperoni and another unidentifed topping. It easily slides onto my iPhone lightning charging cord due to a slit in the back. It can rest right at the end of the cord and is meant to protect it from the dreaded shredding that can happen when we bend the cord right at the piece you plug in, thus ruining it. This little pizza is my only hope of making my newest charging cord last.

The Face Shop Ryan Soothing Jelly Mask - Retail Value $3.90

First of all- this mask is so darn adorable! Look at that bear! He's wearing a sweatband on his wrist with a little visor and looks like he's about to play a round of tennis. Besides being cute, this sheet mask happens to be awesome for my skin! The main ingredient here is aloe which we all know to be soothing and hydrating, so this mask really delivered while also smelling really nice. It fit my face well, stayed put, and didn't leave any stickiness behind. My skin felt plump and refreshed afterward.

The Face Shop Jeju Aloe Ice Soothing Gel

This aloe gel/cream is pretty fun to slather on and I've been using it after my shower mostly on my legs. Like the "ice" in the title would lead you to believe, it is quite cooling (as aloe tends to be) when on and I think this would be fantastic as a summer item to put on after sunburn. The tub they sent is pretty large so it should last a while even though I do use quite a bit when putting it on my legs. It smells super nice too, like cucumber.

Socks Appeal Polka Dot Hot Dog Socks

These are way more comfortable than expected! They're really soft and a little bit bouncy to the touch. I love the dark forest green/teal color of the background, especially with the red polka dots against it. Scattered in between the dots, you'll find some hot dogs in the pattern which I find really fun and unexpected.

Verdict: My first Daebak Box was full of cute stuff but nothing here really felt like a hero item to me. I think it's good that it's a quarterly box because it is quite a few items that I couldn't see arriving every month. The socks, facial mist, sheet mask, and blush were probably my favorite items and I think they cover a wide gamut of items from Korea instead of just makeup or skincare or lifestyle items. This box definitely has it all and is full of items I couldn't find here in Pittsburgh.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? This box is gone, but their winter box has yet to ship and is still available to order!

Value Breakdown: At $49.99 for this box, you are paying approximately $5.55 per item.

Somewhere in Korea, a dollar store is laughing.

For $50 I was thinking the same thing.

Cute stuff, but I can get any of these items at a local Daiso or Miniso for a couple dollars.

Rosette

None of this makeup/skincare stuff is at Daiso but this stuff can definitely be found at cheaper places or legit websites.

It’s a cute & cool box but jaysus the price.

You’re so lucky to have a Daiso! I always go when I’m in SF, LA, or Seattle.

They are super fun stores!

Dayan

Per website reviews, there’s actually quite a huge variation to their winter boxes. Kinda wanna subscribe but it’s all about luck if there’s so many variations lol decision decision

I noticed that too, Dayan. There was a lot of “this or that” items in the booklet from this Fall box and I was peeping the photos of the people who already got their Winter box. I admit, there were some items that I wish I got a diff version of, but that’s subscription boxes for ya! Winter does look pretty cute tho!

Oh, Ryan. He sure is adorable, but he could use a new brow-do to turn those babies upwards to lose the angry face.

Cute box!

I thought I wanted this box before spoilers but now glad I saved my money. It’s nice but not quite for me.

I hear you, Jody. I was hoping for one big item at least that I was really excited about and made the box but all the items just seemed kinda “ok, that’s cool”.
