Quirky Crate December 2019 Review
Quirky Crate samples one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month’s special find comes from PBK, founded by Kathy Phillips. This info card gives you a little background info on her life and work as well as some social media info.
On the flipside, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Home for the Holidays".
Time to get quirky!
Lil' Red Riding Hood Socks - Listed Value $9
I absolutely LOVE this pair of socks! I can't get over how adorable the design is, especially that big bad wolf! Every detail, from the cross-stitch art style to the colors of these socks screams quirky; these are easily my new favorite pair of socks. They are medium thick and fit my size 7.5 foot perfectly.
Selfie Light - Listed Value $14
I have a selfie light exactly like this, and it makes a huge difference when you're trying to get that perfect selfie in a dimly lit setting. It clips right at the top of your phone and requires two triple-A batteries. I love that this accessory is bright enough to illuminate your face, but it won't leave you squinting for your photo like a flash will. It will be perfect at a holiday party!
Rainbow Overnight Bag - Listed Value $36
When Quirky Crate strays from their usual faux leather bags, they always make it worth your while. This light canvas bag is the perfect size to bring to the gym or keep in your car for an overnight stay. You can easily fit an outfit and your essentials in this cute little duffle, or you could store all of your quirky finds in it like I did. There is a zipper pocket inside, and the bag closes with gold zipper as well.
Holiday Light Bulb Enamel Pin - Retail Value $10
I call this aesthetic "girly festive," and I am all about it! The pink sparkles are so pretty and will stand out beautifully on any winter wear. I also really like that this accessory can be worn all winter long. It is 1.75" long and has one pin back to support it. This would also make a really great secret Santa gift, too!
Hedgehog Mittens - Listed Value $15 (similar pair found here for $9.99)
I always hold off on buying any gloves or mittens because I know I'll get a pair from one of my many subscription boxes, but this is the only pair I received this winter; luckily, I will not be needing any other hand gear because I can't bear to take off this incredibly cute pair of mittens. The hedgehogs' neutral hues will match any outerwear; they are warm and seemingly well-made, too.
PBK Glass Santa Ornament - Retail Value $12
This glass Ho-ho came bearing gifts! He's an old-fashioned, classic design that doesn't match my decor, but my father-in-law will love this for one of his three trees. This glass ornament is very light and delicate; he measures 4.75" and comes ready to hang with a silver string atop his cap.
Diamond Pen - Listed Value $4
Quirky Crate has sent this type of fine ink pen before, and they are some of my favorite writing utensils. The tip is like a pinpoint and the ink doesn't bleed, so it is perfect to use in small spaces. It is also great to take with you to work if you have trouble holding onto your writing utensils (these are pen thief-proof!) since this stylish pen is so easily identifiable.
The Verdict: Quirky Crate's December box was full of festive finds. All of the special products will help me enjoy this winter season, especially my new gloves! The total value of this box adds up to $100, more than double the $36.95 + $6.50 shipping subscription cost. I always feel Quirky Crate is worth its cost because the curation and unboxing experience are a blast, and you can always find some awesome flair to display your quirkiness.
