Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this Fix. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we conduct reviews).

Stitch Fix for Women January 2020 Review

Stitch Fix includes a prepaid USPS envelope for you to send back any returns or exchanges which makes it so easy and hassle-free!

This is my invoice which provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items. My total came to $239.00, but with the 25% off (which they take off BEFORE deducting the $20!) and the $20 credit, my total drops down to $159.25. That’s a savings of $79.75 on these items.

Your stylist will also include a style sheet with some tips on how to wear the pieces in your Fix. They even include ideas for accessories which I find incredibly helpful! There is also a note from my stylist, Kacey.

Monica Legging by Threads 4 Thought, Size L - Cost to Keep $34.00

Kacey mentioned in her note that she sent some more leggings because I had a fit issue with last month's, although I don't remember that being the case. The fit was fine, but the leggings were not dressy enough and were more like workout leggings. This next pair is the same way. They aren't leggings that I would pair with a nicer top and not something I need at the moment. I also already have this exact pair of leggings from last January's Fix. They have held up really well and are comfortable, but I would prefer a nicer pair of leggings to wear with all of the nice sweaters and tops I already own.

Kabecka Mock Neck Knit Top by PINK CLOVER, Size M - Cost to Keep $44.00

This sweater is very similar to the one I received in last January's Fix also. I love it and it is so comfortable, but I was not feeling the two different fabrics together. Had it been one of these all over I would have loved it. The top part was such a pretty heathered reddish-purple color that was incredibly soft and the bottom was a really fun and beautiful pattern that I would love to rock! Unfortunately, where the two fabrics meet is the issue since the top kept riding up and creating an awkward line across my bust. The shirt wasn't ill-fitting in any way but just didn't flatter my figure with the way it was laying.

Nickole Textured Pullover by PINK CLOVER, Size M - Cost to Keep $44.00

This sweater is so soft and beautiful! I could not resist it. I love the color and the knit weave, although I am terrified I am going to snag it on something because that's just the way my life goes these days as a busy mama. But until then, I will cherish how soft, comfortable and cozy it is! It is nicely made and definitely a quality sweater.

Allura Knot Detail Foil Print Blouse by West Kei, Size M - Cost to Keep $42.00

I wanted to love this top, but my torso is just too long and it felt so awkward where the knot fell in the center! I love the fabric and the long cut in the back, I just wish that the knot had been more to the side or that the shirt was a tad longer in the front so that I could pull it off. It felt like the perfect top that you could wear casually or dress up for a fun occasion with some jewelry to make those silver accents pop!

Layla Suede Bootie by Diba, Size 9.5 - Cost to Keep $75.00

These suede booties are super cute, but I just don't need any booties right now. I have a pair that are lighter but not leather so they are definitely not as nice, but I just can't justify a new pair of $75 booties at the moment when I have a decent pair that will work sitting in my closet. Maybe next winter? These also felt really loose on my feet, too, which I'm not sure is a good thing? Maybe it would be more comfortable, but for now, it felt a little awkward and like my ankles weren't supported enough.

You can also see them on with the beige sweater in the above photos.

The Verdict: This month's Fix was pretty decent. While I didn't need the booties or leggings, they were still great staple pieces that I would have been happy with had I been in the market for them. The purple sweater and black blouse were both nice pieces that I liked and only went back because of fit issues. I love the beige sweater so all in all, it was still a great Fix since I was able to make use of my $20 styling fee credit! I will always be a fan of the convenience of Stitch Fix, especially in these cold winter months when I get to try everything on in the comfort of my own home.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $239.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all 5 items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $159.25. That’s a discount of around 33% for these items.

I’d love to see more Stitch Fix (or similar subscriptions) reviews with different reviewer styles. I love reading Brandi’s reviews but since her style is so different from mine, I always end up wishing I could see more variety like mine (blazers, bodysuits, strappy tops, romantic/boho, distressed jeans, statement pieces). I subscribe to Stitch Fix and my last few fixes haven’t been great which is a bummer because I really want to stick it out. Thank goodness for the Style Pass so I don’t pay the styling fee (after the initial fee).

I also received the mock neck… Different but VERY similar…I just don’t know what to do with the neck…quite awkward..
The feel of material was heavenly, as well as the lilac in color… Oh well…

Those leggings are from Threads 4 Thought?? The label says Gaiam and you can get them at Kohl’s, probably cheaper with coupons. I got my last fix in early December, and I’m not sure I will continue. There just isn’t enough variety in the brands, and I’m tired of getting “Pink Clover” brand tops that I can likely get at Marshall’s.

The photos with boots …. The leggings looked LOVELY

If they are Gaiam, Zulily also has sales on them frequently–just got a similar pair for under $20 on there. As for Pink Clover, I *think* that’s a Stitch Fix house brand, so you wouldn’t be able to get it elsewhere. And if not, they do price match, but it has to be the same style, color, and size.

You know, that’s really weird because the pair I already have from my older fix definitely say Thread for Thought on the printed tag inside the pants. The new ones had tags hanging off that were Thread for Thought and that’s what was listed on my invoice and style sheet so I guess I didn’t really think too much about the Gaiam label inside but now I’m not really sure what to think! 🤔

Glad you kept the pullover sweater–when I was scrolling through, I was thinking “keep this one!” For the one with the mixed fabrics, I had a similar seam issue with a different top I got from Stitch Fix, where the seam between two different fabrics hit in a really awkward place on my bust (it went back). They need to consider that when designing tops!

Haha yes, they definitely do need to reconsider that design! Glad I’m not the only one! Thanks for reading, Jill! 🙂
