The K-Beauty Box December 2019 Review
The K-Beauty Box will always have a short booklet that lists the included items and how to use them. This month they've sent six full-size items and two bonus samples.
Age 20's Blooming Flower Essence, 100 mL
I am enjoying using this essence after cleansing and toning. I apply it to a cotton pad and spread it over my face which gives it a little boost that is a lot more hydrating than the average face mist. It's really light so it absorbs quickly and it has a somewhat light floral fragrance that I don't mind. Plus, I love the pretty pink bottle!
Age 20's Blooming Flower Cream, 50 g
The blooming flower cream has a nice thick creamy consistency that doesn't feel greasy or oily at all. It has the same floral fragrance as the essence, but unfortunately with a sort of plastic-smelling addition. I'm not sure if that's one of the ingredients or just the container but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little off-putting. There is a slight gummy feeling while the cream absorbs into the skin, but afterward, it's quite soft.
Age 20's Luminous Lip Essence
I really like this chubby little lip essence made with royal jelly. Look at how cute that doe foot applicator is! I leave this next to my bed and have been using it as sort of an overnight treatment since it is on the heavy side. It has a yummy peach scent that reminds me of peach rings (which are my favorite gummy candy). This makes my lips feel really hydrated and gives them an incredible shine. Normally I shy away from thick glosses, but since I only put this on at night while at home, my hair is less likely to get stuck in it.
3W Clinic Intensive UV Sunblock Cream, 70 mL
A lot of us forget about sunblock when the colder months roll in, but it's just as important now even if it feels gloomy. This cream has an SPF of 50 which I can appreciate since I like to stay as pale as possible and protect my skin as much as I can. The cream has a nice thick consistency when it comes out but it absorbs rather nicely. There is a slightly greasy feel at first, but once it's soaked into the skin, that goes away. It doesn't feel all that heavy compared to drugstore face sunblock, so I think this is a win.
Leaders Wrinkle Off Golden Collagen Ampoule, 30 mL
I'm never quite sure when to use an ampoule since this type of product isn't a staple of my skincare routine, but the info card said to use it as a last step. I can't help but be intrigued by the gold flakes in the clear collagen gel and will say that my face did indeed have a bit more glow to it after smoothing it onto my skin. There isn't really a scent to this product which I appreciate and if it helps reduce my slowly forming wrinkles, I'll all for an extra step in my routine.
Banobagi Vita Genic Jelly Mask - Estimated Value $3.00 (Buy a box of 10 sheets for $30.00, on sale for $12.00)
This mask fit my face so well! There was no sliding around at all even though this is a jelly mask and there wasn't so much essence that I felt overwhelmed afterward. I found this anti-wrinkle and brightening mask to be very cooling while on and although there was a slight stickiness once I took it off, it was absorbed well and left my skin feeling taught.
The History of Whoo Essential Moisturizing Balancer
The K-Beauty Box always adds a couple of small samples of higher-price-point brands. The essential moisturizing balancer is an Asian herb tonic water essence so it's sort of in between a toner and a serum. It's on the thin side and can be added to a cotton round to spread over the face. It has a rather perfumey fragrance I don't really care for but it does make my skin feel more moisturized.
The History of Whoo Essential Nourishing Emulsion
The small emulsion included from the same brand is a much thicker white cream with the same scent. It's quite slippery when put onto the skin but once it's absorbed it makes my skin super soft.
Verdict: The K-Beauty Box included brands I've only seen in their boxes before or new ones to me. While I think these all work quite well, some were heavily fragranced and I just feel like there are K-Beauty boxes out there that I get more excited about it. Since it's hard to find these products online from a site I know I can trust, it's difficult to provide a solid overall retail value. I do think this is worth the money since all of the products are full-size, but there's nothing this time that I really fell in love with besides the lip essence which I'm surprised I liked.
