Let's see what I received!
Kate Somerville Kx Active Concentrates Bio-Mimicking Peptides Serum, 1 oz - Retail Value $98.00
Let's begin with the most expensive treat this month! I really like Kate Somerville products and find them to usually be really effective and of wonderful quality. Peptides are basically chains of amino acids and they are a huge part of your skin's collagen and elastin, so adding them to your routine is an excellent choice if you want to maintain your skin's firmness and elasticity. I noticed a little extra "bounce" after a week of adding this to my rotation, which is great! It wasn't a fine line killer or anything like that, but added firmness is always appreciated.
Alamar Cosmetics Complexion Brush Trio - Retail Value $36.00
The very last thing I need is another makeup brush, but I have become a little bit of a collector/hoarder. I LOVE adding new brushes to my collection even if I don't need them (and I certainly don't). I know not everyone feels this way and perhaps someday I will have like 29420934 brushes and I will hit a wall, but today is not that day. These are very pretty and have nicely dense brush heads. There are three in this set: a bronzer, a brightener, and a general complexion brush. The bristles are synthetic and feel very good on the skin, grabbing plenty of product per dip or swipe.
Ciaté London Everyday Vacay Coconut Scented Translucent Loose Powder, 15 g - Retail Value $22.00
I have to admit that this isn't my favorite brand, and I have a hard time getting super excited about translucent powder. That being said, I do think a lot of Charmers out there might really like this. It has a soft coconut scent which feels very summery, and it does go a great job of mattifying my face juuuust enough and locking my makeup in place.
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads, 28 pads - Retail Value $17.00
I like pads like this because I am an AHA addict and they make it just ridiculously easy to apply a peel before bed. These are soaked in a formula with both glycolic and lactic acids which exfoliate the skin without any texture or scrubbiness. This exfoliation exposes newer glowing skin! I found these to be pretty mild, but I do use acids A LOT, so if you are more sensitive give them a try maybe every other night and follow up with moisturizer until you see how your skin reacts. They also fill in as a toner step in a routine too, and multi-use always makes me happy!
Evio Refreshing Cleansing Help Wipes, 15 wipes - Retail Value $10.00
Finally, our last item is a pack of 15 hemp oil wipes. I use cleansing wipes all the time at home, work, and in school, so I am rarely unhappy to see them in a box. It would have been extra nice if this had been a 30 pack though! These were exceptionally gentle on my skin and did a good job removing makeup and dirt. Despite having hemp oil, they leave no oily feel behind.
Verdict: My BoxyCharm box has an overall value of $183.00 which is awesome for a $25 box. This was the second month where my box was significantly more skincare focused, though I will say I like this box much more than my January one. The Kate Somerville serum alone makes the $25 price tag feel more than fair, and I also loved the brushes, pads, and wipes. The powder is also a solid addition, though I feel pretty neutral about it. All in all, this was a great value box with recognizable and high-quality brands, so what's not to love?
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this box is still available, but there are variations! These boxes do sell out, so if you love it, hurry.
