Enchanted Crystal of the Month Review: Danburite
First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal. I love these personal notes as they explain behind the scenes details.
Our specimen this month is Danburite!
Danburite
FYI: These are on the smaller side, with the longest piece being about 1.25 inches long.
These pieces are really cool. I will admit though, that this might be the first month where I am a little underwhelmed with the size of the main specimen(s). I just expect a little bit bigger I think and these feel more like bonus crystal size. But I digress. The crystal this month is called Danburite, named after Danbury, CT where it was first discovered in 1873. Our pieces hail from Mexico, which is a testament to how complicated, curious, and magically random the formations under the earth actually are. Basically, magma injects itself into a pocket deep in the earth and when it interacts with stone already present, these beautiful crystals are born. These pieces are highly iridescent inside and have a smooth but ridge-covered surface.
Enchanted Crystal always sends bonus crystals or minerals in a small bag as well.
Good to Know: These are all about 3/4th of an inch long.
Tiger's Eye
This is a stone that is closely associated with the Leo zodiac sign, so of course, I love it! I have always enjoyed the way this stone collects light inside it, looking like some sort of magical radiant wood grain.
Guinea Fowl
Named after the spots on a bird of the same name, this stone looks like it was hand-painted!
Silver Leaf Jasper
I love jasper because it has so many different shades and patterns that occur naturally. This charcoal grey piece is covered in delicate little lines.
Verdict: Enchanted Crystal had a super unique specimen this month (as usual!) but it could have been a little larger IMO. I still consider this sub to be an excellent choice for anyone who is into rocks, crystals, or minerals because each month there is something I don't already have in my collection.
