Geek Fuel EXP Volume #7 Review
Included was an info card with details about each item.
Wolverine Tee
I am not the biggest Wolverine fan, but even I have to admit this shirt is well done! I love the sketchy white illustration on top of the solid black tee. It is delightfully minimal.
Edward Scissorhands Pin
Our pin this month is a very cute ode to everyone's favorite topiary artist. I really love that this pin is on a dark gunmetal base because this goes great with the lavender color enamel!
Star Wars: Collecting A Galaxy: The Art of Sideshow Collectibles Book - Buy a hardcover edition here for $39.99
My brother in law is an avid model painter (he goes to these insane competitions and often wins!) and he is also Star Wars obsessed, so I knew this book would be going directly to him. This book is all about Star Wars collectible models designed and painted by Sideshow. In addition to being an amazing resource for model enthusiasts, the photos are so close up and detailed that he could easily take literal inspiration from painting and weathering techniques to use on his own creations. I think it is pretty awesome that they focused on Star Wars collectibles rather than just another movie picture book.
NES Metal Key Ring - Retail Value $9.06
It looks like this keychain should have been a Gameboy, but I fondly remember the NES so I am quite happy still. The chrome finish looks super futuristic, which is delightfully ironic on this older system.
Power Blanket
Oh, wow, another wave of nostalgia. I fondly remember the Powerpad and its catchphrase:
Now you're playing with body power.
This large blanket is an excellent tribute with the power to warm your body!
Time Recoil Steam Game - Value $13.99
Don't forget to snag your quarterly Steam game!
Time Recoil is a top-down shooter with a slow motion twist! Punch through walls guns blazing while time slows down! See your enemies drop down like flies - and save the world from a mad scientist dictator!
Verdict: This Geek Fuel delivery was very fun! I loved the nostalgia of the NES items. Ahh, youth. I also love that I have such an incredible book to gift to my brother in law, who is going to LOVE it. The book would have been super pricy to purchase so it felt like a great and valuable addition to this box. The Wolverine shirt isn't my cup of tea, but I liked the style either way. If you are into all things geek and pop culture, this is a great box to explore.
