LUXSB January 2020 Review
There were some instructions for using the holder.
The fragrances come with a little velour bag if you want to protect the vials in your purse.
On to the fragrance:
Instant Crush from Mancera - Estimated Value $13.73 (Buy 4 oz for $180)
This is right up my alley. It is an oriental floral fragrance that isn't too heavy on the floral. I might have to cough up $180 for a full size when this runs out.
Top notes include: bergamot, saffron, mandarin, and ginger. Mid notes are: rose, jasmine, amberwood, and patchouli. And base notes are: sandalwood, oakmoss, vanilla, and white musk.
So sandalwood and vanilla with patchouli are almost always going to make me happy. As florals go, rose is my favorite, but it (and the jasmine) are not super prominent here. Musk and oakmoss and woods are usually wins for me (this is listed as unisex, for what it's worth, and I tend to gravitate towards unisex and masculine fragrances), and this is honestly not too citrusy even with the bergamot and mandarin. In the end, all of the things I love are prominent and the ones I don't like as much are less noticeable, and the overall blend is just perfect for me. Of course, everyone's body chemistry is a bit different.
Sillage and longevity were above average. A lot of the Fragrantica reviews of this one are super critical but it seems hard to please anyone there.
Like with some of the other fragrance subscriptions, you’ll receive purse-sized holders for your fragrances. These are slightly larger than the ones from Scentbird or Scent Box. How often you get a new holder depends on your subscription plan.
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $13.73 which is a little less than the month-to-month cost of the box, but I am OK with that because it is close and because I personally love the fragrance. I'd rather get a less expensive fragrance that I do like (and, well, this is still $180/bottle so better to try it out first) than a very expensive fragrance that I don't like.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, all you have to do is choose this fragrance.
Value Breakdown: This subscription is $15/monthly and this month, I received $13.73 worth of fragrance (but again, this is highly variable based on what scent you choose).
