Check out all of my Box of Style reviews!

SHIRALEAH Arden Tote - Retail Value $74.00

This might be my favorite bag from Box of Style ever! The slouchy look feels so fresh and different from most of the purses in my closet, and I love the two-tone tan look. (The materials are faux pebbled leather, and a faux suede. Both look like real leather to me, too.)

The single handle and v-cut opening make this super comfortable to wear over your shoulder. There is a magnetic snap button to keep it closed, and inside there's a zippered pocket, too. And it's so roomy! I think this will be my new everyday purse!

BAYOU WITH LOVE Oval Chain Bracelet - Retail Value $195.00

I have such a fabulous collection of gold jewelry thanks to Rachel Zoe and Box of Style! This bracelet measures 6 inches with a 2-inch extender. It's gold plated recycled brass (this brand focuses on sustainable production, conscious sourcing, and aims for zero waste). I love this worn on its own, and it's a perfect piece for stacking, too!

DIFF EYEWEAR Bella Sunglasses - Retail Value $85.00

This season, subscribers can pick their color choice of sunglass frame: tortoise or black. Both are classic, but since I already have quite a few pairs of black sunglasses, I decided to go with the tortoise frame. (And I love the matte gold metal finish on the temples!)

  • Lens 53mm W x 46mm H
  • Frame 143mm W, 20mm Bridge, 145mm Temple Length

ERNO LASZLO Hydraphel Skin Supplement - Retail Value $68.00

This is one of those holy grail skincare items people regularly pay full price for, so if you factor in the coupon, and you'd pay regular price for this, it's like getting the rest of the box for free!

This is an alcohol-free toner designed to help hydrate skin. Even though it's alcohol-free, I was still expecting it to feel similar to other toners when I applied it with a cotton round. Nope! It glides across the skin, and and left my skin feeling amazingly hydrated! It's great for use before your other skincare products, and I liked using it before makeup application, as well. (Give it a minute or two to dry before makeup.)

R + CO. Waterfall Moisture + Shine Lotion - Retail Value $29.00

I've sampled R + CO. quite a bit thanks to Birchbox (I'm a fan!), but I'm used to small samples, so this full-size tube is a nice treat! The formula is a lightweight styling cream that can be applied to dry hair to help with taming flyaways and adding moisture (without weighing down hair). It also can be applied to damp hair before drying/styling. The scent is pretty strong, and if you like Ouai hair scents, I think you'll love this one, too!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $451! I think that's great for $99.99! And even better with the coupon! (With the $25 discount, it works out to be $15 an item!) I think this box is an excellent curation of classic items (the sunglasses and bracelet are timeless), and the bag adds a nice on-trend element. And as always, Rachel picks amazing beauty items from high-end brands. I think this is one of her best boxes of all time!

I never really have any complaints about this box. I wear the sunglasses regularly. The toner is like no other toner I’ve used, but I love it. Good box overall. I LOVE that RZ just gives full spoilers up front, so no surprises!

Hello, I just ordered this last night . I just fell in love with the purse and sunglasses .I ordered an annual PKG . I read a lot of bad reviews and am now afraid I made the wrong decision. How long did it take before you received your order , and when do they start the summer box ? If you could answer that would be so great I’d appreciate it !! Thx

Zoe

Absolutely love this box. It was my fourth box so I got an annual subscription gift which was the bayou with love earrings that match the bracelet really well. Wish I could wear the bracelet more than I get to, it feels so nicr to touch and isn’t too heavy on the arm. Love the handbag, have been using it since I got it and always get compliments about it.
Haven’t had a chance to wear out the sunnies but I love the tortoise shell colour and they fit well. Been using the toner and R&co daily and have had no issues with them.

PudgeKat

I caved with the r+co package and when I got the box I was so happy when I saw everything in person. I’ll be using everything and needed the style refresher.

Tracy

Liz,
Do you think the color of the purse is close to the honey shade of the spring Causebox purse? I may need to pick the gray instead of honey if they are almost identical…
Thank you!

I had cancelled after the Winter box, but got an email today with a code for $30 off and the R+Co bundle, so I they sucked me back in.

Reply ButtonReply

Tracy

Do you mind sharing the code? I didn’t get the email. 🙁

Victoria

It was:
WEMISSYOU30
Hope it works for you!

I am an annual member and have really enjoyed receiving my boxes (3 so far) and am very much looking forward to the Spring 2020 box. I went in and made my custom selections and received a confirmation email on Feb 16 stating that they are preparing my order. When I log into my account it showed that the estimate ship time is March 6th. However, on Feb 19th I received an email saying they experienced a technical issue and that they tried to charge my CC and couldn’t so they cancelled my order and that sometime the week of Feb 24th they were going to charge my card again and ship my order. But, this doesn’t make sense as I am an annual member and should not have paid for the box. I have sent 2 emails asking about this but have not heard back.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I think this is a great box! I love the slouchy large bag and totally agree with Liz, great daily bag to throw all your stuff in and go!! I also love the bracelet and added on the matching earrings! I chose the black sunglasses, does anyone know if the temple is gold like the tortoise option?!

Jodie

Love love love it!!! It’s my favorite box

Reply ButtonReply

igloonorrth

I saw the same bag in Target today for $36.99.

Reply ButtonReply

Zoe

From what I saw when selecting my sunnies the black ones are all over black.

Reply ButtonReply

Ellen

Would not be mad if I got the box, but not exited enough to jump on it either. Will probably grab it at a deeper discount.

Reply ButtonReply

Aarjullor

If the bag came with a charcoal option and the bracelet with a silver version, I’d have already jumped at this box. It’s so similar to fall’s box, with a brown bag, and gold necklace. I just don’t wear either of those color families.

Reply ButtonReply

Maria Silveri

Yes. This exactly.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Same here as well!

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

EXACTLY!

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

I feel exactly the same!

Reply ButtonReply

Bunny

Liz…I love your blonde locks! You look truly amazing – rocking the glasses with the bag! Pic 5 on the Sunglasses. Might buy this one because of you. Lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Thank you, Bunny! ❤️

I was on the fence when I saw the spoilers…love Laszlo (their eye mask is amazing and the only one that works for me) but big sunglasses make me look like a bug, and the quality of the Fall leather bag was not what I’ve come to expect from BOS and kind of put me off future boxes. Didn’t like the Winter box, (no thank you to Estee Lauder and please no more robes)
I would rather have a good quality vegan leather bag than cheap real leather. And kudos to BOS for giving a discount to former subscribers, very few sub boxes do this! thank you Liz!

Melissa g

I just caved and ordered it with the $35 discount. Not sure how I feel about the pleather bag but would I spend $65 on the sunglasses, bracelet and the face product? Yes absolutely!

Reply ButtonReply

Beverly Kreiger

What’s the $35 coupon code?

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa g

They arent offering it anymore but Im sure they will again.

Cassie

This is where I was at! While the bag wouldn’t be my first choice in material, the cost of the box with the discount definitely made it worth it for me! I’d be content paying that for the combined face product and sunglasses so I’m considering the rest a bonus lol

Reply ButtonReply

Lynn

Thanks for the great review, Liz. Looks like a great box to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Glad you enjoyed the review! I agree, great box! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan Buckley

I am impressed with the company actually being honest and up-front about what the bracelet is made from as that seems to be lacking in a lot of other jewelry items and subscription boxes. ($195 is one heck of a markup, though!)

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

I love that R+Co product! I smooth it into towel-dried hair, then lightly mist a hair oil on top.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Awful all around. Thank goodness I only ever subbed to this box once ages ago.

Reply ButtonReply

Errmmm

Funny how people can feel differently – polar opposites- about the same thing. I paid $80 for 6 items (I’m a new subscriber) that have an RV of ~$450 (I know that’s high, but still) and I’ll use 5 out of the 6 items almost daily.

Reply ButtonReply

Cynthia

Are the Bella sunglasses polarized? Some Bella models are and some are not according to the Diff site.

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

I just looked it up also, they have some that are but these are not. If they were polarized I’d have bought this right away. But now I’m going to wait for a bigger discount or it’s not worth it to me. I’m getting to a point where I’m not as comfortable buying unsustainable pleather items made from petroleum and plastic and non biodegradable, so I’m not too happy with this choice of bag material.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

The packaging doesn’t say polarized anywhere, so I would assume not. Hope that helps a bit!

Reply ButtonReply

Cynthia

Thank you Liz!

LisaFalana

RZ never disappoints IMO.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristine

Thanks for an amazing review. I love all Rachel Zoe boxes. The gold necklace from the winter box has been my go to statement piece. I wear it often and haven’t had any issue with tarnish or being cheap. I think this bracelet will be a great edition to the necklace. Love the bag and everything else.

Reply ButtonReply

Ruth

I love that necklace also! It cracked me up last week when I wore mine to a charity bingo event and saw another lady wearing one too.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Yay! So glad to hear you are loving the gold jewelry, too! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Leslie

Liz, from you’re experience with the vegan leather purses you’ve received from BOS, do you think it will hold up well? It is the deciding factor for me. I love the look and would use everything else.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

The material is very soft, and the quality is excellent, so I anticipate it will hold up well. (No hard edges to wear down quickly, either.)

Hope that helps!

Reply ButtonReply

Liis

I own 8 pair of DIFF sunnies (don’t judge me). They are GREAT. However, they have awesome sales so I think the most I ever paid was $40. You can do a virtual try-on on their site to see how they look on your face. Solid product.

Reply ButtonReply

Lee

I know they have the try on feature on the QUAY site..but I can’t seem to find it on the DIFF site. Maybe it just doesn’t show up on the mobile version?

Reply ButtonReply

Liis

I think you have to have the desktop. But I’ve used it tons and it’s accurate IMHO.

nika

I tried on the PC – still cant locate 🙁 Could not wait any longer and ordered my box with the 35$ off code

Beth

How soon would this box ship? I need a present soon for someone…

Reply ButtonReply

Mandi

Well I believe they’re charging their regular subbers on the 15th so probably sometime after that. But I’m not sure, maybe Liz can answer this better than I can.

Reply ButtonReply

Chloe

I’m a subscriber and the ship date on my account says est. March 5th.

Julie

I think I’m going to jump on this. A $35 discount right off the bat that former subscribers are eligible for is awesome. I don’t really wear bracelets but I think I’d use everything else.

Reply ButtonReply

Christina

I agree the jewelry and bags are ridiculously overpriced but she usually makes up for it with the skincare.

Reply ButtonReply

Sandra

This box is filled with such crazily overpriced stuff. 200 bucks for costume jewelry is ridiculous. To each his own, of course, and I read such gushingly positive reviews about this box, but I don’t get it, I just don’t. A plastic purse – cute, but plastic – and a fake bracelet do not add up to a stylish, expensive, classy box, in my view.

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

I agree Sandra. I don’t get this box either, it’s just stylish looking stuff made with cheap materials. But again, most stuff is made to be disposed of quickly…that’s the fashion industry (and consumerism). I much prefer to buy a simple leather handbag that will be around for years.

Reply ButtonReply

Tracy

Pretty tired of the chain link jewelry. This piece seems much more delicate than the one from a previous box (winter?) with the lock, but still.

Also, it’s exhausting to see all the vegan leather. People eat meat and that’s a reality. Would vegetarians or vegans rather their skin just go to waste? I don’t understand. Real leather lasts so long — I’d so much rather see those products in subscription boxes. If the purse here was leather, I probably would have bought the box.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

It depends on the leather. Most high quality lamb skin and calfskin leather comes from animals specifically raised for their leather.

Julie Jones

I completely agree. They’re using these types of materials because they’re cheaper, not due to any kind of activism.

Apricot

I agree. I’m on board with cruelty free cosmetics and I can’t stomach the idea of buying a fur coat for looks when I don’t actually need that level of warmth. I do eat meat however for whole nourishment and I prefer leather goods for their superior quality and durability. Plastic is great for some things but not shoulder purses which get subjected to a lot of stress and wear. Vegan leather in subscription boxes means one thing to me – cheap.

Alice

Agree on the leather. I actively use a saddle that belonged to my Dad. It belonged to his Dad. I know there are synthetic versions of everything (including saddles; I have two); but, they don’t hold a candle to durability and functionality of leather. I have boots that I wear that are 30 years old and look gorgeous. They’ve been resoled multiple times. Try that with ‘plastic’ boots. Leather lasts and products made of leather are better for the environment. That’s right; meat is always going to be consumed worldwide, and the animal hides must have a use. Our forebears used EVERYTHING from an animal; nothing went to waste. It was a common phrase to hear: ‘we use everything but the squeal/moo/cluck’. I am one of the biggest animal advocates and environmentalists you’ll every find…and I’m also one of the biggest leather fans.

April

I agree. Too expensive of a box for cheap jewelry. There are better boxes in my opinion.
