Allure Beauty Box March 2020 Review
A handy booklet has all the product info inside.
Mamonde Rose Water Toner, 0.84 fl oz – Estimated Value $2.29 (Buy a full-size 8.45 fl oz for $23.00)
FYI: Subscribers will receive either the Mamonde Red Energy Recovery Serum OR Mamonde Rose Water Toner OR Mamonde Petal Spa Oil to Foam Cleanser.
I love anything from this brand, but I do wish this sample had been bigger! The actual full size is more than affordable though, which is some consolation. I like to pour a little bit of this rose-scented liquid into my hands (before my day cream or night cream) and pat it into my face. It is a refreshing moisture boost to any routine and I always find it especially calming.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in 'Zero', 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $16.50 (Buy a full-size 0.04 oz version for $22.00)
FYI: Subscribers will receive either Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda Shower Foam OR Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil.
I am not much of an eyeliner gal (which makes the rate at which they arrive on my desk even more ironic) but I generally find pencils to be subpar to gels or liquids. This pencil is the exception because it is wonderfully smooth and lasts for what feels like forever. One drawback for me is that the tip of the pencil never feels sharp enough for a more delicate flick, but the buttery smoothness and blend-ability make up for that, at least in my book.
Lue by Jean Seo Cleansing Powder, 2 oz - Full Size! Retail Value $15.00
FYI: Subscribers will receive either Dr. Botanicals Lemon Superfood All-in-One Rescue Butter OR Lue by Jean Seo Cleansing Powder (Both Full Size).
I received this back in May of 2019 too, and enjoyed it, though nothing groundbreaking resulted in terms of my overall skin. This is a 3-ingredient formula, containing oat flour, milk powder, and magnesium carbonate. It smells a lot like oatmeal which is very natural and yummy. Basically, you add water to it, apply to your face, wait about a minute, then rub it off in small circles. Again, not a huge WOW moment for me here, but the ritual itself was super relaxing and was worth the time alone.
FLOSS My New Favorite Gloss in 'YUL', 15 g - Full Size! Retail Value $16.00
FYI: Subscribers will receive either the LAX or YUL shade of this gloss.
This is a really nice all-around clear gloss that I just happened to get back in my June 2019 Allure box too. It isn't sticky but is still shiny, and the formula leaves your lips feeling super moisturized. It has a light sweet scent that was quite nice, and some of the coolest packaging in my purse.
Lapcos Hyaluronic Moisturizing Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3.00
FYI: Subscribers will receive either the Lapcos Hyaluronic Moisturizing Sheet Mask or Ceramide Sheet Mask.
Finally, a sheet mask was my last item, and I am thrilled with it. My face is going through some feelings this month! As most of you know by now, Marne and I are both about halfway through our Esthetician schooling. It is great, but it means our faces get practiced on A LOT, which is both good and bad. Sheet masks have been really nice for my poor face at the end of a day filled with exfoliation, creams, peels, heavy-duty makeup, and more. By the time I get all of that stuff off, my skin is beyond angry, and a mask like this is just the ticket for calming it down. This one specifically had loads of moisturizing hyaluronic acid, which gave my skin a boost of much-needed moisture.
Verdict: This Allure box has a total value of at least $81.79 which is great for a $15 box. I was a little miffed that there were some repeats, but nothing in here was a dud. My faves are easily the sheet mask and the Mamonde toner (I sense a K-Beauty theme here) but the mascara was also quite nice!
