BoxyCharm Premium March 2020 Review
Each box comes with a card detailing the items included. This is the Fenty Beauty collab box that I have been SO excited for!
Now, on to the items!
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in 'Trophy Wife', 8 g - Retail Value $36.00
This was the first Fenty Beauty item that caught my eye when this brand launched. I know this is not a highlighter that would look super amazing on me, but I can't help but adore it. It is an insane foiled gold look that is as bold as Rihanna herself. Though it isn't an ideal highlighter shade for me, I love it on my lids and if I am super, SUPER light-handed, it does look quite gorgeous on my cheekbones. I am also low-key obsessed with the beautiful compact that has a subtle holographic shimmer in the molded plastic.
It's legit gold!
Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in 'Confetti', 7.1 g - Retail Value $25.00
FYI: Shades may vary.
This was one of the variable shade items that arrived for all subscribers this month so I was super curious so see what shade I would get. I am absolutely delighted by this pearly sheer shade that is filled with electric blue, pink, and lilac shimmer. This looks so good on my lids as a wash of shimmer and gives my pretty natural everyday look a little extra pop! This is also the sort of layer-able stick that would be awesome on cheekbones before foundation application, to give that inner glow.
I freaking love this. You can't see the fire of the shimmer in this shot, but it is gorgeous!
Moroccan Spice Eyeshadow Palette - Retail Value $59.00 (currently on sale for $29.00; the included info card states $29.00)
I receive and review LOTS of palettes in a month, and you would think it would be easy to get sick of them. Palettes like this are exactly why I don't! This one is a beautifully molded indigo plastic with a gemstone sort of cut to the top. There is a design of multicolored smoke on the lid. Inside, are 16 shades across tons of different colors and finishes. Most of these have really great pigment, with a few of the mattes needing a little extra love to reach their full potential. Still, these colors are worth a little extra love! My favorites? TOUGH! I really adore Mo'rockin Ice (you can't see in the image, but this pearl shade has a pink and gold flash), Shisha Smoke (the swatch isn't great, but this sheer shade is a dream!), and Fez Up (a safe Megan color). The Evil Genie shade is also a stunner!
Top to bottom: Mo'rockin Ice, Mirage, Casablanca, Marrakush
Top to bottom: Shisha Smoke, Sahara Stunna, Quicksand, Desert Baked
Top to bottom: Evil Genie, Fez Up, Saffron, Cumin Get It
Top to bottom: Souq It 2 Me, Nuts n Dates, Henna Sea, Spice Trap
Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in 'Diamond Milk', 9 ml - Retail Value $19.00
I am a gloss-a-holic and I have really been wanting one of these Gloss Bombs. They have one of those adorable oversized doe-foot applicators and SO much shine! This shade is a milky base with an explosion of diamond shimmer. It reads pretty cool on my skin, but not so much that it doesn't work. The gloss itself feels like a moisturizing slip and has great wear time.
Silvery and magical!
Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in 'Clapback', 1.7 g - Retail Value $18.00
FYI: Shades may vary.
This was another item I was very eager to check out as soon as the box arrived. Some of the spoiler shades were really wild, and it looks like the navy 'Clapback' shade managed to sneak its way into my box. While I would never reach for this shade at Sephora, it is one of those colors that I would always wish I had the courage to try, even if it was for more of a special occasion sort of event. Even though that hot pink shade would have been more my style, I already own a ton of those and I have nothing like this in my (extensive) lip collection. Most navy lipsticks are pretty fickle and splotchy, but I am happy to report that I am super impressed with the formula here. It was ridiculously easy to get even and full coverage, and though this is a matte finish, it totally wears more like a satin formula in terms of texture. While this would never be a regular color in my rotation, I kind of love it.
Here is a swatch along with an oh-so glamourous makeup-free WFH pic of me wearing this shade.
Invisimatte Blotting Paper, 7.95 fl oz - Retail Value $16.00
Our final item is something most everyone can use. And in typical Fenty style, the most basic of beauty items has transformed into the coolest thing in my makeup bag right now. This little tube holds a roll of blotting paper and a built-in plastic serrated edge to make clean cuts. There is also a built-in mirror to check your shine levels. Oh, and it's refillable!
Verdict: My BoxyCharm Premium was a freaking dream this month! I love this collab so much and hope we see more of this from Boxy. I loved every item in the box this month, and the overall retail value lands around $173. That is a lot of Fenty value for $35! I also love how though most of these items were mostly in my comfort zone, ones like the navy lipstick certainly weren't and I never would have even tried it without this box. I feel like there was a great balance between wild and natural in my box and I really appreciate that! Because of this box, I already have some additional Fenty items I want to splurge on (namely the Match Stix in 'Ridiiic' and the Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in 'Dragon Mami').
