BoxyCharm March 2020 Review
Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.
This review is for box variant #25.
Let's see what I received!
Sutra Beauty Mini Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron - Retail Value $50.00
I have thicker hair so mini-anything in terms of hair tools is just not for me. That aside, this is a really nice little wand! It heats up to 190 degrees and does so really fast! Marne was immediately smitten with this tool and I was thrilled to be able to pass it on to her. She even tried it out in my office and left with such perfect spiraled waves. If you have thinner or normal hair, this is going to be a much better fit for you than it was for me.
Farmacy Beauty Cherry Cleansing Balm, 3.4 fl oz - Retail Value $34.00 (currently sold out)
Who doesn't love Farmacy's Green Clean Cleansing Balm? It is one of my favorite balm-style cleansers and magically removes every trace of my makeup when I use it. This is a limited edition cherry version, made in Korea just for BoxyCharm. I am not usually a cherry-scented fan, but I did really love this fragrance. It is like a blend of cherries and almonds and is a delightful pink color. It comes with its own little spoon scoop so you don't have to dip your fingers inside too, which I greatly appreciate. I like to apply this to a dry face and work it in, then rinse away the makeup and dirt from my day. I have also used this on dry skin and just wiped it away with a cloth if I am in a hurry or away from a sink or shower.
Hank and Henry Beauty Living in Color Palette - Retail Value $27.00
These are the first eyeshadows from this brand I have ever tried, so I am pretty excited about them! I am a little less excited about the chunkiness of the palette itself, but I am willing to overlook that because it is delightfully '90s! These shades are a mix of shimmers and mattes and lean to the warmer side except for the green, teal, and blue shades. I find that shimmers usually have the better formula in the majority of palettes I review. They just always seem to feel more pigmented and smoother. This was not the case in this palette where the mattes were (in my opinion) a little superior! The shimmers did perform better with a fingertip application, which suits me just fine as I usually apply with fingertips then blend with brushes. The standouts for me were 'Rosalinda' and 'Sultry Sin.'
Top to bottom: Sultry Sin, Foo Sha, Pettycock, Drag Gun Blood, Rosalinda, and Boyz Toy
Top to bottom: Rustiege, La Canela, and Mariana French
Becca Glow Gloss in 'Camellia', 5 g - Retail Value $22.00
Becca is one of my favorite brands when it comes to lip products. I have yet to meet one I don't love! This gloss is kind of one of those hybrid sorts, which feels like a mix of lipstick, lip gloss, and the nourishing elements of a balm. I am really into the cool spring pink shade and find it so easy to just toss on and wear. Becca glosses used to have a super sweet scent which has been replaced with more of a peppermint vibe that doesn't really tingle but still feels very refreshing on the lips.
I will be wearing this all spring!
Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer in 'French Lavender', 3 oz - Retail Value $16.00
Finally, our last item is much appreciated Spongelle! I really love these body wash-infused sponges in my shower and I haven't had one for a few months. I have even caught Will using these before! This is their classic lavender scent which I have had before and like very much. You can use these exfoliating sponges up to 14 times and I love taking them with me on longer trips so I can avoid the dreaded body wash tube explosion that I have suffered through so many times.
Verdict: My BoxyCharm box has an overall value of $149.00 which is great for a $25 box. Everything was pretty solid this month! I think my favorites would be the Becca lip gloss and the tub of cherry Farmacy balm cleanser. In addition to both being wonderfully useful, there is a springy-pink theme that I am totally feeling right now! I thought the Hank & Henry palette had some great shades and I will certainly use the Spongelle. The curling wand was the only miss for me, but I am always happy to be able to pass on something useful and great to a close friend.
