CBS All Access: 1 Month Free Trial + My Recommended Shows

For a limited time, CBS All Access is now offering a 1-month free trial of their streaming service. (Usually, they only offer a free week.)

Use this link to activate the deal. (After your first month, if you stay subscribed, the service is $5.99 a month with commercials or $9.99 a month without commercials.)

Here's what the discount will look like when you checkout:

I've been subscribing to CBS All Access for a few shows I love, and I definitely recommend it for the free month trial at least to see if you would watch it enough to justify the cost. (In addition to almost all regular CBS shows, they also have shows exclusive to the service, like Star Trek: Picard, The Good Fight, and The Twilight Zone.)

Here are my 3 CBS All Access favorite shows that I highly recommend:

Survivor

If you've never watched it, or haven't watched it since it first aired 20 years ago (!), I encourage you to reconsider! I think it's the best reality show of all time! My husband Eric and I started with Season 37 when I read a few articles in Entertainment Weekly talking about how amazing the season was, and we were hooked! We've since watched at least 15 more of the seasons, and are currently loving season 40.

If you are thinking of trying out Survivor, let me know, and I'll give you a recommendation on which season(s) to start with!

The Good Wife

If you love a good legal drama and you haven't watched The Good Wife yet, this should be your next TV show. If you love shows where underestimated women find their strength and take charge, this should be your next TV show. It's pretty amazing that a show that produces 22 episodes a season can be this good, and as I'm typing this out I'm convincing myself that it's time for a rewatch.

And this show created my favorite TV character of all time, Elsbeth Tascioni!

The Good Fight

First, if you are already a fan of this show, season 4 starts April 9th! This is a spinoff of The Good Wife, and it's what I consider to be a perfect spinoff (just like Better Call Saul). Some of my favorite characters returned (including Elsbeth!), the acting and writing are just as good, but it is its own unique show with a different feel (and a much louder opening credit song!)

While you could watch this show on its own without seeing The Good Wife, I definitely recommend watching The Good Wife first.

Have you tried CBS All Access yet? Let us know in the comments if you have any other show recommendations!

It hasn’t received the publicity it should, but I love God Friended Me. In fact, I ordered CBS Access to catch the episodes I had missed as I didn’t know when the new season began. You definitely don’t need to be religious to watch it. There’s a Facebook account calling itself “God” that sends the main character friend suggestions and he and his friends work to help them. Lots of computer speak as well as they believe someone is using predictive analytics. Anyhow, it’s an uplifting show that is perfect to watch especially in these crazy times.

ā€œStar Trek Picardā€ is really good . The finale airs tomorrow, so if you subscribe now you can binge watch the entire first season.

No, it doesn’t look like it is. I can’t find it on any other streaming service either. Sorry! šŸ™

CBS All Access has poor streaming quality. Unfortunately, I learned about this after I bought a year commercial free for my dad’s birthday present. Almost exactly 3 times per episode, we have to force-quit the app on our TV, then restart it to finish the episode. Like a commercial break, lol.

From what I’ve read online, you can circumvent this problem if you subscribe to CBS via Amazon Prime Video.

I also don’t recommend purchasing a year like I did, since CBS just did a merger with Viacom, & they’ve announced that there will be changes to the streaming service. I don’t know if everything will just be added into All Access, or if there will be tiered services or what.

That being said, STAR TREK DISCOVERY! šŸŽ‰šŸŽŠ

Thanks! I started watching Good Fight this summer when it was on TV and now I can watch rest.

I have a post idea – would love to see a breakdown of favorite hobby craft boxes – best learn to knit, crochet, meditate, paint, I think there was a THC cooking box. Hobbies to be busy and not be anxious boxes.

Also a Survivor fan! I actually used to coordinate fantasy Survivor in my office on Pittsburgh’s North Shore (until we were acquired by a company in Orville,Ohio a couple years ago and our office closed!).

I’m rooting for Natalie, too, but I also kinda like Ethan. SOOO glad Sandra (Miss I’ll-Sit-Out-Of-The-Challenge) didn’t win. I can’t believe she quit!

Thanks so much for this, Liz! This will give me a chance to catch up on some shows I haven’t been able to watch for a while. I did the free week a while back but it definitely wasn’t long enough.
