FYI - The Box By Fashionsta shipping has stopped for now. (Thanks for the heads up, Adrianne!)

From Fashionsta:

To Our GlamFam,

As you currently know the entire world has been impacted by the Corona Virus known as COVID-19. It’s during difficult times like these that we must act responsibly for the greater good of our community.

Our decision making is rapidly evolving and we are doing our best to inform you of any changes to our operations as quickly as possible.

As of March 19th all non-essential businesses have been ordered to close in LA County. Our headquarters are based in the heart of Los Angeles, and because of this order our March boxes and pop-up shipments have been halted at this time until further notice. We are working out alternative solutions and will keep you updated as things progress.

We encourage you to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns via email at [email protected].

We are a small business and truly want to thank you for your consideration, patience and understanding during this time. Please stay healthy and safe, and at all times remember, we are in this together.

Xoxo

California just relaxed their restrictions on business reopening and today I received my items from the March Flash Sale. The items were well packaged and I got phenomenal deals – so to me it was worth the wait.

I’m just wondering when they can resume shipping our monthly boxes. They are a small company so I’m hoping they can stay in business.

The lack of communication is astounding and the customer service section wasn’t working yesterday.
I agree with you, but until we’re through this crisis Fashionsta should stop debiting our accounts . If you are unable to deliver, you should stop tapping our funds until you’re up and running again. I’ve purchased merchandise from February that I haven’t received for at total of over $200.

They’ve already said multiple times that they won’t be charging for April boxes if this shutdown continues on into April, which is pretty much guaranteed at this point, based on how poorly people are following the shelter in place orders.

They should refund all march money taken, as well as any prior outstanding pop-up and mystery box orders. That is what any reputable company would do – at least offer customers the choice. Kudos to the Box by Fashionsta by being socially responsible, unlike FabFitFun who refuses to shut their warehouse down.

They are a smaller sub box but I’m trying to tell them on Instagram that they should suspend future transactions on subscription boxes if they can’t send out the orders. They need to catch up on the orders they have now. They told me they have the products they just have to package it and send it out. I don’t want to drop my subscription because I will lose my special pricing and this is one of the few boxes ai actually use All of the products (That is rare). But they shouldn’t take anymore money from people unless they know they are going to ship the products.

I agree and am the same boat.

I hope they make it through. This has become one of my favorite boxes. I’m loving the jet set serum and team mask from last box. This was the one box I was planning on not giving up and I hope they get back to normal as will the rest of the world soon.

100% agree. The whole world is in crisis and it is pathetic to see some of the comments lately about companies forced to shut down or boxes being late.

I just signed up for a subscription and a one time mystery box on March 13th. I was concerned when I did it but took a chance. I’m sure we will all get our boxes when everyone is safe. It’s a scary time in the world right now and we all need to have a little patience. I wish everybody well and please stay safe.

When this first started before any shut down or anything my first thought was “oh fashionsta will have a nice excuse to be late in shipping this month, since they are always late and making excuses.

I have really enjoyed the three boxes that I have received so far of my annual subscription. I even let it pass when my February box didn’t arrive until March 6th or so. The problem I have is that I did a pop-up order on February 21st. They have had nearly a month to send those out. And they are still in processing and now the team is going home for…at least 15 days? Maybe much longer? I think they should just refund all of the pop-up orders because they have had a month and have not even shipped yet!

I’m from Washington state, which is one of the hardest hit with this situation in the nation. So I definitely understand what is going on. And I 100% hope the Fashionsta team stays safe and healthy. But at this time money is tight for many people and the right thing to do would be to cancel all pop-ups, refund the money, and hold another pop-up in the future.

I was never informed that pop-ups still would not have shipped a month later and this was way before anything strict with businesses and closings. My two cents. :/

I was just saying the same exact thing to my friend. At this point, I just want a refund. I ordered from pop up last month. Granted this is an acceptable excuses, it just conflicts with their already delayed fulfillment and shipping issues.

Sinking ship

This company is a sinking ship. People are waiting on orders from February ..

Carol Ann.

Well considering that they are taking proper precautions against the virus, I doubt they are a sinking ship.

Nope. They have been running in the red before any of this..then they opened the men box and the mystery boxes….they always have excuses about “being a small company ” and shipping delays etc. They should have hired more people or get a bussiness loan to start up. This whole thing is a gimmick. For months of this. Them they add more services when they couldnt keep up with the original.

Oh, dont forget the fake profiles they love to use to hype that out.

SquirrelyGirl

They literally have no choice. The lockdown is a legal order and if you are caught breaking it, it’s a misdemeanor offense. I wish people like “Sinking Ship” would show a little more compassion when posting. Many of these smaller boxes are going to be hit incredibly hard by this and may not survive the fall out. They are people like you and I and these boxes are their (and their staffs’) livelihood. Think about if it were your company…
I’ve slowly been canceling most of my boxes (or skipping multiple months at a time), but I did keep The Box because, despite the delays in shipping, I think they have been very good to us consumers.
I do agree that they’ve tried to accomplish more than their small team is capable of though. I know they are trying to keep up with Boxycharm but Regular box, Mystery box, Men’s box AND Popup is too much for them to do effectively. I think they need to nix 2 of the 4 and focus on making the remaining 2 stellar.

Hanna

That was well done and I’m glad they let everyone know quickly. I live in Las Vegas and have been on lockdown since Tuesday. The strip looks like a ghost town. No people, no lights! Cant wait for this to end. Stay healthy everyone!

I live in New Orleans and we’ve been shut down since midnight Monday. Same here with Bourbon St. It’s so surreal!!! 😱 We’ve also been designated as a hot spot. As of right now, we have 479 positive and 14 deaths 😭 Y’all stay safe!!!

Hi, Terry! I’m a New Orleans native! Still live close, about 80 miles away. Be safe.

Julia

Before they went home, I wonder if it occurred to any of them to stop the automatic billing for the next box. Guessing “no”.

The owners name is Shady – enough said….

Of course not. Keep the money, and run. They were already in over their head . That’s why they added the mystery and men box.

Then they claimed they never wanted to be in the sub box , that they wanted to be a store like birchbox ..I think they were in over their head form the start.

It’s easy enough for you to do that yourself. Just go online and remove your card. Fixed!

Thanks for posting it so quickly Liz!

This is what I had wrote on the previous Fashionsta thread.

Just FYI -Cali was put on a statewide lock down yesterday for anything but essential tasks. Since the box headquarters and fulfillment center is located in downtown LA and certainly is not considered essential, they were forced to halt shipments and boxes immediately. Please know that this is beyond their control. Living in Northern Cali , where we have been in lock down since Monday, I can tell you that this has been very difficult for all of us…but, especially for small business and service workers. If you are financially able to, please continue to support whatever services and small businesses that have made your life easier or more pleasurable in the past because they are ones who are at risk of having to shutter their doors permanently.
