Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.
This is one of Liz’s top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box - the value and sample sizes are amazing. (Check out our list of the best beauty boxes for 2020 and our reviews of Cheap Subscription Boxes for more recommendations!)
(FYI – Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)

My Ipsy Glam Bag March 2020 Review
Included is a card detailing each of the items.
Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month happens to be the 100th Ipsy Glam Bag! It is decked out in silver studs and made of a teal, faux-leather body. The inside is neon green!
Hey Honey! RELAX! Propolis & Honey Soothing Cream, 15 ml - Estimated Value $9.00 (Buy the full-size 70 ml for $42.00)
I liked this moisturizer. It has a nice scent and utilizes propolis, honeysuckle, and aloe to smooth and calm skin. It felt really nice on my face and left a velvet finish which was perfect for makeup. Add sunscreen in it, and they would have a real winner!
Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand in 'Chocolate', 0.3 g - Full Size! Retail Value $20.00
I have been experimenting with different brow products lately, though I keep going back to the tinted gel + spoolie sort of deal. This is a wedge-shaped pencil in a soft minky brown. It took a little work to get it started, but once it warmed up it was really easy to apply on my brows with upward hair-like strokes. The spoolie on the other end is perfect for combing my brows into a natural shape and adding a softness to the whole look.
This is exactly the shade I would have chosen for myself.
The Saem Natural Shea Butter Mask Sheet Mask- Estimated Value $1.99
The Saem Natural Avocado Mask Sheet Mask - Retail Value $1.99
WFH means even more time for sheet masks! I have tried these specific ones before and I loved them. Both the avocado and the shea are super moisturizing to my dry skin and the masks fit well. The avocado specifically is my favorite of the pair because the milky serum feels so calming on my skin and certainly reduced redness.
Luxie Beauty Pro Precision Tapered Brush - Retail Value $23.00
I have a brush addiction and this cutie with a periwinkle handle is adorable! This is one of my favorite types of brushes because while the bristles are dense, the head flares out into this super fluffy finish, which is perfect for applying sheer layers of powder highlighter and blush. This synthetic brush will get lots of use in my kit.
tarte SEA Quench Hydrating Primer, 10 ml - Estimated Value $10.67 (Buy a full-size 30 ml for $32.00)
I seem to stumble across this particular primer quite often. While it isn't my favorite of all the options out there, I will say that it feels cooling on the skin and provides a noticeable moisture boost to skin, especially if it is dry like mine! It has a light coconut scent and really does help prolong the life of my makeup throughout the day.
Illamasqua Black Eyeliner
Our final item is a black eyeliner with a marker tip. This is another regular in my boxes and while it isn't that exciting, it does work really well, especially if you love a liner with loads of application control and a semi-waterproof finish.
Verdict: I quite liked my Ipsy Glam Bag this month, though not everything blew me away. I can always use more sheet masks and I happen to really like The Saem. It was nice to get two! I also loved the pretty periwinkle brush, Hey Honey! moisturizer, and the brow wand. I was less excited about the black eyeliner and the tarte primer because I feel like I see both of these items pretty frequently. This month still had a nice value (at least $66 even without the eyeliner) and I loved the bag to boot!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly! As of publication, there was no Ipsy waitlist. Check here to see what month you’ll get first.
Good to Know: Ipsy sends out variations. You may get a completely different bag than me.
Value Breakdown: At $12 for this box, each of the 6 items (considering the pair of masks as one item and not including the makeup bag) has an average cost of $2.00.
